Already said in my sparate comment "I think that the lady saying "Taser! Is just an official procedure to "let" others know what is going on as these things can be quite chaotic, if you look at other videos of US cops using tasers you can hear them saying it as well, as for the "You are being tasered" thing, the dude just got hit by something, got paralyzed, he could freak out and think he got stabbed or shot by a gun, you never know what might they do. Not saying that their actions or what led up to them were reasonable or justified, but the usage of Taser as nonlethal device was actually not really wrong..."
Another good set of stories selected. When I read some of these originally, my mind wondered what you and Sam would make of them. Specifically the tazer stories. More of these please.
Listening to this while wrecking Uruks in Mordor annnd this happens 58:16 Effect: Bends in half from laughing so much and thereby getting rekt by a smug Uruk.
I do 16 hour days 5 days a week usually, thats bad right? lol i just do it but i think its bad when i see people complaining about 11 hour days wtf, id love to do 11 hour max...
Richard, that bit about 11 hours a day max / 80 hours per week max is pretty funny, I'm in public accounting and during the busy season (3-4 months, starting in January) it's common practice to work between 70-100 hours per week! I remember my first "job" was 14 hours per day, plus 5-10 hours on the weekends, and there is no overtime pay because it's a "profession." I love my job, don't get me wrong, but it's insane the hours! And this isn't like some 3rd world country, this is in Canada!
I don't play CS:GO any more because every time I do it on stream people actually contact my employers etc saying I shouldn't have a job if I'm MG2 - LEM and can't play better than that. If I play off stream I get recognised in about 75% of my games (distinctive voice for NA servers) and either get trolled or have people wanting to talk instead of concentrating. The whole experience is pretty miserable so I just stopped and now focus on other games.
LOL The story about the man strangling his wife. I couldn't help but laugh. Richard you shouldn't be talking man, you didn't walk away before you strangled that Dota player. (Big fan btw don't block me)
I think that the lady saying "Taser! Not saying that their actions or what led up to them were reasonable or justified, but the usage of Taser as nonlethal device was actually not really wrong... Also Sam, lol noone is gonna go fist fight with you. I mean imagine some fucked up dude is coming at a cop with a knife. Is the officer supposed to fist fight him? Even if he has bare hands, but he is threatening the cop, noone is gonna give him "a fair fight". You know, cause the cop wants to go home at the end of the day, preferably with all of his teeth. Also the taser saves the perp some teeth and/or bruises when compared to good ol baton.
John Hambleton Like I said in my main comment, I am obviously not justifying why they did what they did. I think that both sides are at fault, but that is my personal opinion not relating to it anyway. As for the "train cops in martial arts" thing, I don't believe that is for the best. The cops want to keep as much distance as possible and to eliminate all "variables". And if you get so close to a suspect that you can use hand to hand combat, it is much more difficult for your buddy to intervene, be it with his fists, baton, taser or even a gun, if the bad guy gains an advantage. Also if you get this close and start wrestling with him, you have no control over his arms, so he can reach for a knife, paralyser, or even a gun you suddenly, you have problems. I firmly believe that taser is probably one of the best and safest non lethal alternatives out there, as it can be used on running suspect and prevents any physical contact, as opposed to fists or any other close range option, which could result in injuries on both sides, where as with taser, there aren't that many risk. To throw some numbers your way, there was a study done by Calgary Police that said that that the use of Tasers resulted in fewer injuries than the use of batons or empty hand techniques. Also it can seem like Taser is very dangerous or even close to being as lethal as a gun, but in reality, in the span of 6 years (2001-2007), there have been only about 250 Taser-related deaths. Also Tasers have allegedly saved 75,000 lives. But that is the statement of CEO of Taser, so take it with a grain of salt.
The Laurie Wheeler story was entirely misunderstood and misconstrued. The point is that she's being compelled by the veterinary board to take an expensive course to learn things unrelated to her practice, which would then allow her to practice legally. Licensing boards in general are protectionist schemes to limit competition, and this story is just one of many blatant demonstrations of how they operate. They don't care about the horses nor the competence of their handlers. They're limiting competition by creating artificial barriers to entry where none are warranted. This is the essence of crony capitalism. Portraying the horses as victims or her as doing something untoward or harmful is dishonest and misses the point. I recommend you, or anyone, to take a closer look at the operations of organizations like the Tennessee Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners (relevant to this particular story) before giving them the benefit of the doubt with regard to their intentions
33:35 I don't think it has anything to do with race, and it's a bit asinine to always go straight to that only because it deals with a black person. If the person was spotted as a black man, it's weird that people assume police would not be looking for a black man. I was recently nearly detained because I had on the same color shirt as a suspect. But I cooperated and showed I wasn't involved in any wrong doing and I was released. Why is that so hard for people? The taser is a bit fuckin' much, but the police weren't in much wrong up until that point (based solely on what we saw in the video). Also... In the face?! Come on, show a bit of restraint, woman.
You've been tasered alright
I was fucking dying what even was that

No. Of course they find it funny. It's just a waste of their time so what's the point in enabling it to get Twitch viewers I don't need?
Damn, didn't think about that. Keep casting though, you're great!
He's not a caster. Guess you mean't host.
I thought my eyes deceived me
LOL The story about the man strangling his wife. I couldn't help but laugh. Richard you shouldn't be talking man, you didn't walk away before you strangled that Dota player. (Big fan btw don't block me)
