I received mine for around 20 days, ate over 2000km so far.
The proportion with clear and integrity surface make the car such a beauty on the road. As a designer, I really hate useless lines on the surfaces especially on the side panels like doors.
It is a pleasure to drive this car. Battery swap and the NOP+ makes long ride so much easier.
In the same time, I hate the limitation of reorganize the screen of apps. You can’t change the order of how the apps laying out on the screen by press and drag, you also can’t change it by install the apps with particular order. Its no matter which app you install first, it goes to “the” position which ruining the concept of “smart” car.
You can not uninstall 3rd party apps, I’m not sure that is the same case in EU.

You forgot to include that you can give NOMI a different name so you can surprise passengers or family by naming NOMI their names. Makes it more fun. Imagine your wife mad at you and you gave NOMI her name..... hahhaaha ..she would have to laugh after you asked "NOMI"(your wife) to tell a joke.....or if she is talking too much and you tell "NOMI"(your wife) to "SHUT UP"

One thing, if you get the car to your personal profile the drive mode will certain keep your last settings. All settings. I guess you’re using a guest mode. Otherwise the car must be not have the correct software.⚡️🔋🏁

You need to have an account within the car to save all your settings regarding drive mode and so on.
A great review, offering information with its boundary. As member of the UAB in Germany, I cant wait to drive it this coming Saturday. I had the chance to test drive it in China early this year, agree on the point that this car is a perfect combination of comfort and sporty.
I can imagine setting the automation to close the windows automatically if you drive the car faster than 90km/h for example - very nice function. Great review thank you :)

This is best product in the world right now. Best looking, price only 43.000 EUR for premium sedan and swap technology give you new battery next 20 years. if you want to use it that long
Got mine recently.
1) Armrest: Got used to it after a few weeks, it might be personall issue. I love the back window how small it is, in other cars i have issues with cars behind me to shine specially during night to mirrors and car, not having issues here ofc and dont have problems to use side mirrors.
2) Soundsystem: Bass is great thanks to subwoofer in back and the car shakes like crazy when playing on max sound, the quality is ok for me, but i care about bass as dnb fun for classic people it might have some quality issues.
3) Have same issue, but waiting for my personal account to be made in germany, as comments say it is not issue with personal account, but as a new profile it still resets.
4) Headroom: Dont really care as i am driver
Congratulations to a fine car and thanks for sharing. Have you recieved the latest Banyan update (2.x.x)? Self driving is a lot more stable in the new version. Regarding the Sub, NIO comfirmed it as a software issue back then.
Is there a curtain for the panoramic roof? Is there a outside sensor for opening the trunk?
No curtain (like Te*la :) and yes trunk has a kick sensor.

wow that if function is something else. have you tried ask nomi to see if he can activate it? or only work manually? we are still waiting for the cabin noise video comparing with the model 3. maybe a whole video of nio et5 vs model 3 that would be a first in the english language. great video

Hard to tell but I think it will be useful.
the cons are not that bad/easy fixable and that's fine as long as core aspect are good!
I see lot complain of car reviewer about software, but they never mention the app drawer and the custom actions.
How is noise level? Et7 is the quietest car by far but et5 has single glass, judging by the audio is stil very good right? could not hear cars surpassing.
Also VERY glad to see Assisted driving is good.

Yes, this was mild winter conditions. I'm testing cars during winter too. Maybe a Nio will slip in to some tests. 😉

What a professional analysis, nice. Recently, I've been looking at the ET5T, a travel version of the ET5 with a much improved trunk volume, but I've yet to visit a shop to see the actual car. I wondered if I could recline the back seat and then raise the trunk to make it flat and travel as a bed car.

Great review, disclosing interesting details. I amazed by China's rate of innovation and advancement in EV automotive, particularly in battery technologies and car onboard systems.
I also appreciate the fact that Chinese EV cars' interior is usually decent or rich, contrary to cheap interior in expensive Tesla cars. 🤷♂

The sound is wery good on some music.
But it falls on some with deep base.
Do you think it is,a software issue.
The subwoofer issue is known at NIO. It has something to do with the Dolby Atmos certification (to my knowledge). There were several complaints about it in the last Tech Talk and there will be a software fix eventually.

Yes, that's a good idea.
Can't you use the automation to select your preferred drive mode on every startup?
Don't know. But found out that it may be caused of a locked profile, since it was a press car.

I mean, aren’t the downsides rather minor? You can still live quite well with these flaws. I the software were to be faulty or it would drive horribly that would be a dealbreaker. Plus one of the faults, namely the limited headspace on the rear seats, can be easily avoided by choosing the estate version. Luckily the estate version looks as good as the normal sedan.

NIO's are beautifully designed cars. I'd consider them for my next car but I can't get past the bumps above the front window. They break the lines of the car and feel like they should say 'Taxi' like the London black cabs of the past 70 years.
Haha...the bumps are a bit awkward. But I got used to them and when you think of the capability they provides you'll accept them. 🙂

Rarely people listen to very loud music in the car now a days. If they like to I would think that they would upgrade the subwoofer themselves. If you didn’t buy the car then maybe you didn’t setup your own profile in the infotainment to allow it to save your personalized settings.
This happens at 70% of max volume so not extremely high volume. Even if the sub is to small it should not distort. It should limit the output to the woofer.
@@ItsOnlyElectric if you still don’t hear too much bass at 70% volume but it rattles then the sub is weak. NIO needs to up it one level.
This is not only a rattle it distord to the fact that it slams and gets out of control.

Drive modes really makes a big difference if you like to drive and want to vary your drive style. It's not a show stoppers but really a experience enhancer.
I don't like the taxi cab sign on top of the car with two horns. Looks completely out of place.

I don't do financial analysis of the company. Have you done your own research? How far is Nio from BE, how does the cash flow look, how is the current owners solidity and possibilty to put in more cash? How big is the financial assets?
