      I agree it's nice but it's close to being very product designy with little to no personality. Luckily nio has retained some identity in their cars but the same can't be said for so many new EVs that have no "emotional" design

    Great review, as always. I would add some more important data. First, I would appreciate it if you did a review on NOP+ in Europe. We know in China it is better than FSD. Now he can also drive on city roads. But in Europe everything is much more complicated. Secondly, one of the great advantages of NIO is that you can rent the small battery every day, then once in a while, when you need a large battery, you upgrade the battery, and pay for it on a daily basis, thus saving around 80 percent of the cost of the upgraded battery. Sometimes even 90 and 100 percent, then you know that in case you regret it, everything is still open. Your vehicle is built for a 1000 kilometer battery (of CLTC which is usually quite detached from reality, but under the conditions of two passengers, a fairly full trunk, Benoni weather, reasonable roads, 19 inch wheels, and in general, daily use, the ET5 achieves between 25 for 30 percent of the declared CLTC range, which means 700 to 750 kilometers of real range) so let's say in five years such a battery will cost 1100 thousand euros after taxes, so your monthly payment will be the same as it was five years ago but your range is now twice as good. What I mean is that it is true that currently the best range of the NIO is less than that of the Tesla Model 3, but in reality the NIO you buy today has a built in battery of 750 kilometers of real range. And the most important point, NIO is a standard. NIO's strategy is to put everything important inside and let them choose color and small additions. Tesla, on the other hand, puts everything important to your choice. There are two methods here, one can argue about which one is the right one. (I personally think Tesla's method is better) This means a significant difference in the entry price. But if you do a head-to-head comparison, NIO is actually much more attractive than Tesla. (I am going to make the comparison based on the model 3 Highland and the ET5T in Germany, assuming that the vehicles themselves are the same at their level) First we will add dual drive, 19 inch wheels, we will add a white interior, (because at NIO the most beautiful interior is free) we will also add autonomous driving because With NIO, this is the standard, (in fact, NIO has more than twice as many sensors for autonomous driving as Tesla, and all of those are of a much higher resolution than Tesla's, some even for a long range of 200 meters) So, NIO ET5T 45 thousand euros, Tesla 63 thousand euros, so tell me , well, not all customers want dual drive, so they lose five things about it, they lose a lot of things about it, 1, less performance, 2, less grip on the road, 3, less good for off-road 4, dual drive doubles the shelf life of The propulsion system, 5, and probably the most important, the charging of drops to 170 at the peak, and we know that with Tesla the curve drops quickly so this is very significant. That's why you must purchase the double drive in 75 percent of the cases. But let's say you still insist on choosing the rear-wheel drive version, the price drops to $53,000, still much more expensive than the NIO. Euro ENCAP score, better than the Tesla Model S in the adult category. Maybe we'll talk about responsibility? Tesla's responsibility are 4 years or 80 thousand kilometers the earlier of them while NIO's warranty is 150 thousand kilometers or five years. I have to say that I didn't really understand this trend of not purchasing an SUV. NIO's SUV has much more comfortable seats and seating position, more legroom, more storage space, same amount of horsepower, rear screen, heating and cooling massage for all seats, matrix headlights, acoustic glass, more suitable for off-road, so I think the EL6 is more attractive . True, the ET5T is much more beautiful, it is sportier, it is also 6000 euros cheaper, so for those who care about these three advantages more than the advantages of the SUV, I would recommend them to go for the ET5T, but I think the most attractive vehicle for most families is the EL6.
    The text was written in Hebrew and converted by Google Translate, so the language is rather sloppy.

      I don't know the prices in other countries, but in Norway the ET5 Touring is competitively priced: NOK 543,000 with 75 kWh (NOK 476,000 with BaaS), 19" and met paint. If you compare with the "equivalent" TM3 LR H, then it is at NOK 527,000. Design and perceived quality are subjective, but very few who have experienced NIO believe that they are behind Tesla. The TM3 has a better range, yes, while the NIO ET5 Touring is better equipped, has far more color choices, is a station wagon and can change/upgrade the battery. Deliveries of the ET5 Touring and EL6 will begin soon, and it will be exciting to see how many cars will be delivered (it is a very demanding market for new cars in Norway at the moment, with sales figures far below normal).

    • @tani123
      @tani123 Год назад

      Definately not. There are currently almost 400 thousand NIO vehicles in China alone. Satisfaction surveys say that NIO's scores were much better than Tesla's. In fact, you'd be hard-pressed to find someone who purchased a NIO and wasn't happy with it. There are two main reasons why NIO's sales in Europe have not been good. 1, new in Europe. They started in Europe only with the ultra-luxury models that reach even close to one hundred thousand euros, which is something that the Europeans are not familiar with. The Europeans are used to the Chinese being the cheapest and least quality alternative, and not the other way around, in Europe there is very little infrastructure, few garages, few NIO houses, and most problematically few battery SWAP stations. That's why even those who want to buy NIO prefer to wait until 2025 when there will be more battery exchange stations. 2, the Europeans are still unable to understand that there are also high-quality Chinese vehicles. So until this stigma weakens, NIO will struggle to sell many vehicles.@@NorwayBEV

      And this is my explanation why NIO is cheaper than Tesla. @@NorwayBEV
      170 euros a month after taxes is a fair price for two SWAPs, a guarantee that your battery will forever be in the healthiest condition, upgrades, and future cost reduction. That's why I think it's fair to measure the price by the price excluding the battery. The most important point, NIO is a standard. NIO's strategy is to put everything important inside and let them choose color and small additions. Tesla, on the other hand, puts everything important to your choice. There are two methods here, one can argue about which one is the right one. (I personally think Tesla's method is better) This means a significant difference in the entry price. The capability to swap the battery decouples the car from the battery which means if the battery degrades or fails and when higher energy density batteries are developed the car doesn't heavily depreciate or become obsolete, like say a Tesla with a structural battery pack will.
    Also it's a Beautiful car, I just hate all the lumps on the roof and I don't want all the self driving tech, lidar. cameras etc, makes the car expensive, I like driving and there's more to go wrong and maintain.

    Question1. Did you do a DC charge test? Will that be a seperate video?
    Question2: Have Nio explained to you what happens when you swap with this? According to Nio the battery has a new chemistry, thats why they updated the charge speed. But other cars do not, so when you swap you risk ending up with a slow 100 kWh battery from an EL7 or other model. (I am 100% sure Nio will not throw away thousands of "old" batteries with old chemistry.)

      As the brand expands the old batteries will become rarer. But it will take time. Probably in about six months 80 percent of the batteries will be upgraded to charge at 180 kilowatts. Not to mention moving to NT3 in a little less than a year, which in general will be based on 500 kW, which is twice the best charging you can get with Tesla. This was the car that made me look seriously at Nio. I spotted it on the street in Beijing but did not get the brand, subsequently saw it in the Livat shopping mall showroom. I think the car is absolutely stunning to look at, unfortunately I find the rear floor to be too high (battery pack limits space) resulting in the back seat being too low (I’m 1.88m). The sales lady pointed me to the ES6 which I then investigated online before taking a test drive and buying.

    Thanks for vid. Nice car. Boot is quite small for car of this size and combi at top. Even Fabia3 comby has bigger boot. Flash light removable, oh damn its in Skoda cars about 10 years back :D. Seating position on the bacj seats, do you realy can imagine travel in this position more than half a hour? For kids its Ok until 13 years after that it will be to low too. Everythogn else is quite good. The dimming roof is very nice. No glove box- thats big minus for me, tahat additional space under central console is no good subtitute. I dont understand why you push lever back when you want go towards and othervise :D.

      Good points. I think the back seat was ok, don't forget that I'm 193cm tall. Nio seems to prioritize looks and design for an attractive look. Compared to a Fabia that goes all in on practicality and skips everything else. 😂😂

    Great and beautiful car, I just wish it really had a (much) bigger trunk, even my 2017 Skoda Fabia which cost 13000 EUR and is on all accounts an inferior car to this one, has more trunk space and that is important for many SW drivers.

    • @ItsOnlyElectric
      @ItsOnlyElectric  10 месяцев назад +1

      Odometer works as normal but will not tell you anything about the battery life, battery life can be diagnosed in other ways. A lot of other things are interesting for odometer though, like motor, tires, bearings bussings etc..
