Of course I won't stop doing 1000 km challenge. But the problem with Nio is that battery swap needs to be done during opening hours which is betwenen 7 and 22. And the route via Sweden is 20 minutes slower because of landslide. Another problem is that I have already done 1000 km challenge with almost the same car (ET5). There should be a limit of how many 1000 km challenges I actually do. At least a bigger battery, faster charging curve or something else should trigger a new test. I have seen in the past that people are less interested in 1000 km challenge if another car which was almost the same has already done it before. As for Arctic Circle trips, these trips takes two full days. As long as I don't want to stress too much, the trip starts early morning the first day and I often arrive really late the second day. Now that I have a 1.5 year old daughter and my wife is pregnant, and we recently moved to a new house which requires lots of stuff to be done, I simply can't go to Arctic Circle. In the future when I have more money I can hire a babysitter. But this won't happen anytime soon as you also know the financial issue I have with the new house.

@@haukionkannel Most new taxis in the north are out around the clock waiting or driving. The wait is a big background variable as it means that the car must be kept warm with energy from the battery and nothing else. They normally do not carry extra heat with them. And of course fast charging makes it even worse. Waiting in car queues with the heat on is also usually the reason why electric cars need to be towed. And a fossil car will also need to be towed/refueled if it has to sit idle for hours to keep warm. Taxi means that the car will wear more in relation to mileage. Possibly good service can compensate.
Your new “studio” is a bit echoey. Are you gonna put more stuff (rubbish that “surely will come in handy someday”) into it or some sound foam on the walls?
18% in 4hours in -25 is quite a lot... If I am stuck in winter on motorway in the traffic with 30-40% of battery it might be problematic. Maybe not in Norway where you have 50 stations every 10km you can roll to one haveing 1-2% but in Poland where you have 1 every 50km...
NIO just signed their first external battery swap deal with Changan and their fleet of various EVs, and more to come. So here's my wishful two cents: Maybe the potential battery swap collaboration with Mercedes Benz (rumor) will mean that more battery swap stations, NIO-Power-Branded or not, will appear on these IONITY lots, and that'll help advance EV adoption immensely.
I really like your advertisment. its just funny. It's perfectly integrated into the video, you don't even notice that it's an advertisement. This is what advertising looks like! Great sponsor.... The Nio Voice is just horrible. too much.
The Germans had better wake up and start making wagons again... Offering sexy wagons is a great strategy for the Chinese to tempt German customers into Chinese cars! And once Germans get used to the idea of driving Chinese cars, it's going to be hard to get that market share back 😬

I'm 6ft as well and own a et5, fits me nicely if I move the seat back and lean a bit backwards. It all depends on what you're used to i guess, i don't like how upright i sit in an SUV
Only problem with the car is that it's a total rip off of Porsche Taycan Sport Turismo with that backend. Everyone will know it's a cheaper Chinese version of the Porsche variant.
I can't stand these modern interiors with screens that look like an after-thought rather than being properly incorporated into the dashboard. It looks cheap!
It is designed this way because it should be easy to upgrade down the line. Nio have designed their evs for a servicelife of over 15years. This is why German cars are different they have 2 year warranty for a reason.
Agreed, but legacy dash would have no practical use--the screens are all backlit and visible even with sun glare. Same goes for doing away with buttons--easier maintanence.
It honestly boggles my mind how inefficient Nio has managed to make their cars... Any idea how that is even possible? Because we're hitting fat e-tron levels of inefficiency... in a smaller, lighter, more aerodynamic car!
Nio has the worst finances of any of the major chinese manufacturers... i saw a ranking with about 10 companies... not sure they will be around for long... maybe they get bought out by saic or something
Ignoring the error in your grammar, what is so seamless about the Tesla experience? Definitely not their customer service, or more specifically the lack of customer service. I have to use the Tesla app for all communications? Silly. How Tesla originally designed the Model S for battery swapping, then backed off?
At least they are not pumping out resources from Africa and bombing civilians around the world. And we have no problem buying cars from these warmongers so why would we have a problem with a friendly nation like China? This mentality that you have is a sickness.
IMHO, battery swapping is just idiotic. It must have some wear on the connections or bolts or whatever. And there will be issues with sand, snow, salt. A good charging infrastructure makes much more sense, because it will also be accessible for all cars. I charge when I can, just stop, plug in and do a 10 min break, and continue driving. "Charge when you can, not when you need to."
You can still DC charge a NIO if you prefer waiting. The new 100 kWh pack charges quite fast too. Battery swap is an option and in many cases it makes sense instead of waiting. I am not sure if 10 min charging break will add that much range in all real world conditions even with increased charging speed.
One guy in China swapped 1400 times in his es6, travelling over 500 000km. China has much colder winters than what we have here in the Nordic countries.

Then, the BMW i5 should match your requirements (comes with level 2+ autonomuous driving, handsfree til 130 km/h)... Next year also available as touring.
@@Lucas-wp2phexactly. The same for the garbage we get on tesla in europe vs whats going on in america 😅
Europe is so far behind in software with the bs rules here😅
@@Bud_TerenceTested this one here in Finland. 93000€ for a wery plastic interior and slow rwd. For 53000€ it would have been a nice car. For this price it was a POS
Well, ofcourse you can go German. Thing is tho if you go for Merc, audi or bmw, you will have to pay much, much more than Nio for the same equipment level. The germans are in my oppinion lagging behind. Outdated software, plastic interior with piano-glossy-black sticky, dusty panels.
Do you still think taxis don't put extra wear and tear on batteries?
If they change to 100% if they don`t… no matter what the usage is.
@@Smartphonekanalen
Mileages are not important in EV, the charging cycles are and it does not matter if they charge the car for driving or waiting!
Your new “studio” is a bit echoey. Are you gonna put more stuff (rubbish that “surely will come in handy someday”) into it or some sound foam on the walls?
Yes, already mentioned many times before.
@@bjornnyland thank you for your hard work!
If you were stuck, you would probably lower the temperature in the cabin from 21°C to 19°C. It will make a huge impact on consumption.
😍
sold at the "manual pre heating option"!
I also like station wagon and not suv.
We need more cars and less suvs on the roads
What did kid want?
And once Germans get used to the idea of driving Chinese cars, it's going to be hard to get that market share back 😬
Maybe the market for wagons is no longer as strong as it once was, especially for electric family cars.
Bjørn pls stop eat shif food from gas stations/fastfoods. This isn't healthy in a long run. We need u to live long to know what car is worth buying :P
Real Turmat is level up from crap food :)
Very good movie BTW. Keep it up
It's not like I eat this kind of food every day. Or do you think I'm on road trips every day?
Calls on $NIO? I bought the stock at $4 a few years ago and sold at $37.
❤ Please get a hold of both the Long Range and Standard Range Model 3 Highland please. I'm craving an in-depth review. I can't choose between the two! ❤
I am sorry I've been to the Nio Hub Yesterday but the car just don't fit me. I'm not a small Guy but not huge either, 6 ft. I just could baringly get into it and out again. So this car has no Chance in Europe IMHO.
I'm 6ft as well and own a et5, fits me nicely if I move the seat back and lean a bit backwards. It all depends on what you're used to i guess, i don't like how upright i sit in an SUV
@@madass88 To sit inside is no problem but to get in and out is just uncomfortable. No car for me. :)

If only Stormberg sold to the US :(
There is a school of thought that says electric cars are more efficient when the power is pulsed in that way. Could that be what is going on?
Don't attend stupid schools.
No, pulsing is less efficient. That is basic physics.
Only problem with the car is that it's a total rip off of Porsche Taycan Sport Turismo with that backend. Everyone will know it's a cheaper Chinese version of the Porsche variant.
-25°C and EV = määähhhh
No problem at all.
The Tesla experience is so seamlessly that make other EVs look dumb.
Ignoring the error in your grammar, what is so seamless about the Tesla experience? Definitely not their customer service, or more specifically the lack of customer service. I have to use the Tesla app for all communications? Silly. How Tesla originally designed the Model S for battery swapping, then backed off?
The only downplay for this car is that it is Chinese made. Knowing, what the Chinese government is, I couldn't never trust them...
At least they are not pumping out resources from Africa and bombing civilians around the world. And we have no problem buying cars from these warmongers so why would we have a problem with a friendly nation like China? This mentality that you have is a sickness.
Icon and graphic looks like a cheap copy of the leader but functions are there the legacy ice automaker will have to get going China is coming …
It could be the best thing ever, I'm not going to buy a Chinese car.
You mean better grid, good luck with that and your 1200kw charger
You can still DC charge a NIO if you prefer waiting. The new 100 kWh pack charges quite fast too. Battery swap is an option and in many cases it makes sense instead of waiting. I am not sure if 10 min charging break will add that much range in all real world conditions even with increased charging speed.
One guy in China swapped 1400 times in his es6, travelling over 500 000km. China has much colder winters than what we have here in the Nordic countries.
maybe your reply is the same and the reality is that you are not just understand the whole tech at all.
Can you be more specific with how far it can go
