Many people find painting a peony challenging, but in this painting tutorial I want to show you easy acrylic techniques that you can use in your art. Soo good!! And you do a fantastic, FANTASTIC job of teaching while you go along! You make following you a breeze unlike 99.9% of other tutorials where they completely forget some of us have no real experience and we end up falling way behind, making tons of mistakes, and quitting before we're half way there!! So Bravo to you!!!
And to continue..when I start falling behind a 'supposed tutorial' n making dumb mistakes, I end up getting so pissed....I throw a lil tantrum ruin the entire damn thing!! 😅.. 😟😩🥺😥😢😭😭 Anybody else do this?!? Or did I just completely embarrass myself?? 😳

Last night i was having an asthma attack and not having my medication with me i knew i had to do something. To not panic and divert my attention. I suddenly remember my husband and i picked up some cheap acrylic paint for a diy project we were supposed to do which never happened (lol). So i took it out and just went to RUclips. Your rose painting caught my attention so that's what i did.
I never painted my whole life. I was a color pencil kind of girl. Water color, acrylic was something i was super scared to try. The fluidity of the medium and using brushes that just was super scary. Going back to my narrative, i didn't have any canvas around the house to paint on so i ended up using a folder. Hahahahaha! I made it work somehow.
So yes, yesterday i made my first ever painting. I sent a picture of it to my sisters and husband. It was very humbling, the praises.
I guess this is something i should try doing more. I like mixing colors anyway, i do that all the time with my lipsticks. And i like the idea now of just freelancing it somehow..and just trusting the process. But what really surprised me was for the first time since forever my mind was silent.
So thank you for starting my journey. And thank you for your generosity sharing your talent to the world.
PS. I will attempt to do this peonies once my new art materials arrive.

Hi Katie, you made amazing painting. I also tried to paint it today...everything was good till you painted the first rose...after that when you moved fast forward....i also did fast forward and something else got painted....(however not bad for the first timer)

Thank you, your tutorials are the best. Plz do these 3 step tutorial videos with all the flowers and also make a video on flowers composition explaining arrangements of flowers on canvas, arranging them in odd numbers and drawing them in different sizes and how to draw them going out of the canvas ( explain any rules that should be followed) and how to arrange them in alphabetical shapes. Hi! I've seen some of your videos and I was wondering: do you use references or photos for your paintings or do you paint them by heart or memory?
I sometimes struggle to paint by heart and get lost in references... Also having trouble finding my own style.

Unfortunately, you don't show the reference photo and I have no printer at home and because of being unable to get out under my own steam, I have no way of printing it of anywhere else,. That’s ok 😄 I use a special type of paper made for acrylics or oils. There’s quite a few different brands out there, I think it’s called acrylic paper 👍🏻

Most brushes are fine for acrylic, you want a brush that isn’t too soft, not to hard. But it’s all down to preference
