I really don't like Dire Straits but I watched a video on deceptively difficult songs on guitar and they broke down how the lead guitarist used a unique picking and fretting style to actually play the song correctly. Sultans of swing never impressed me until i read that then watched the live performance. It isn't as flashy as a master of puppets or through the fire and flames but the detail and technical skill is no less impressive. Reminds me of some of the finger style guitar work of youtubers like Luca Stricagnoli that i've been bingewatching lately.
Sultains of Swing live version, so Preston can enjoy that final instrumental masterpiece.

Fun fact, that last guitar sound at the end is actually a guitar string that snapped but they kept it in. Pretty sure Herman Li was joking but he said in an interview that he tries his hardest during live shows to snap a string at the end of this song but just cant.
