Editor's Note: My edits were all made to keep the video on one, central topic by editing together relevant commentary from many parts of Hasan's streams to create a storyline that is still followable by the viewer. I also edited in commentary of my own in places, in addition to relevant external information that improves the viewing experience. A lot of edits were made for comedy purposes, or to enhance the comedic timing of certain beats, but never to misrepresent Hasan's point of view.

Hasan missed the point with the paintings, theyre not pictures but RECREATIONS of masterpieces. The amount of labour that went in to that is insane
yeah he probably thought it was a photo copy lol
What's the difference between a recreation and a forgery? Genuinely curious because could a person recreating a painting be considered a forger or is there a line?
@@mildlydazed9608 Unless you try to pass it of as the real one (usually for commercial purposes as otherwise not much is gained or lost from the forgery) copying a painting is not legally considered forgery to my knowledge. It might still be illegal under copyright laws in some countries though

@@vaxan5126 that’s kinda part of the point. It’s called a ghost town even though, because of how big China is, there are still tons of people actually living there, comparable to a small town in Europe. It’s not a ghost town, the place is a home for a lot of people
Today we're going to see what the deal is with that weird Paris clone China built!
_One Week Later_
It's actually pretty amazing! It wasn't deserted at all, the people were lovely and Mao was right about landlords.

I assume that the Chinese government knows that they will have to provide housing and infrastructure to the millions of people coming from the countryside, to the cities for work in the nest few decades. Rather than have a huge housing crisis, and lots of homeless people, they've decided to build the cities in advance. At the start the residency may be low, but as new industry starts up, people will arrive, and the houses and utilities will be ready for them.
I've seen other videos where Westerners go to a city with houses, shops, roads, mass-transit...but no people. Their immediate reaction is to criticize and assume that china is imploding. However, a few months later, another foreigner visited the same city, and found it was filling with new residents, the shops and restaurants were buzzing, the roads were busy, and the mass-transit was , clean, efficient and reasonably priced.
With such rapid growth, China has realized that it is not practical to allow new cities to grow organically, without creating chaos. By advance planning, they seem to be able to avoid some of the problems associated with uncontrolled growth, and urban sprawl.
As their economy grows, so will the affluence of the middle-classes. These people will want places to live and raise their families. Copying Paris, seems strange to me...but maybe that is better than copying some of the urban/suburban nightmares that US city planners have foisted on the populations of American cities.
True
tbh the only weird thing about it being a paris clone is the tower lmfao (definitely tacky), but tons of cities imitate parisian architecture/design
@@vlorpflash112 Yea, the Eiffel Tower replica in Las Vegas is arguably more tacky
What I've heard is that China was having property boost at that time. Basically local governments everywhere find property developers to create massive master-planed communities. Local governments get a lot of income for selling land. And then the property developers "presale" the apartments to fund their next project. Repeat until some projects finally failed.
You heard what they said, they move to this mini paris because they can't afford to live in the big city nearby. Eventually, some property developers and local governments got too optimistic at what kind of location you can transform. And they can't get enough people to "pre-order" their apartments. To the point some companies decided it's best to just stop the project and run away with the money they collected so far.
This was happening for more than 10 years. It's a national wide thing. A lot of them didn't fail, because it's built on a planned metro extension from a big city. But one success story here, can directly impact the demand elsewhere. Some are just destined to fail. And the local governments don't always have the best interest to help you get your money back.
geez that one chatter who wanted the epstein video was so fking annoying lets talk about this city before the 3 part saga about the serial rapist
Least they weren’t randomly shitting on people.. unlike some
lol, I literally just visited during the spring festival. It’s actually really dope to have “Paris” to yourself.
Such a wholesome video
I've been watching a few China videos and honestly their urbanism seems great! that's part of what makes these cities so vibrant and either way it's probably better to have an abundance of housing rather than a lack of.
America has abundance of housings too.
It’s just that people can’t afford them.
@@alohatigers1199 abundance but no density makes alot of those houses useless. A abandoned town in nowhere arkansas built like shit isn't going to attract anyone but desperate locals. We're hopefully approaching a total change how housing and urban planning works, because this shit ain't it. My hope is that we don't fuckin elect trump because homie will just do whats happening in florida and houston and just let tards plan cities with low density and crappy housing that is cheap but is slowly but surely ticking upward

This city looks more like "Le quartier du Lac" in Serris (which already looks like a Disneyland version of Paris also built on farmland in Marne-la-Vallée district near Disneyland Paris) than it looks like Paris itself.

It's so great seeing Hasan get into Yes Theory. I know they can be a little cringey, but the way they humanize the people they meet in these countries has been incredible.
I agree. They can be a little annoying when they promote their clothing line but they are so good at making travel documentaries that the cringe is worth it
Been watching YesTheory for years, their videos are always overwhelmingly positive and really really well done.
I've been there in 2019 and it was pretty empty, there were like a few cafés and small convenience stores. Houses from outside didn't look lived in either compared to this video (no clothes being hung outside etc.), but I was there only for like an hour or two at noon, so idk if there was any nightlife. Also the Eiffel Tower wasn't fenced up and the surrounding didn't look this neglected, hope they restore the area around it once more people move into the city.
there's shops open and people walking around everywhere and these guys are like "THERE'S NO ONE HERE, ITS MOSTLY EMPTY"
When he watches the video about Transnistria he's gonna lose it, it's just so good, please hasanabi chatters who are here show it to him
I got married in China back in 2012 and visited a replica Venice near the city of Hangzhou that was built solely as a backdrop for staged wedding photos. Tons of empty fake buildings with a few photo agencies hidden throughout. It was at least a few square miles

I am convinced Americans never leave because we are taught that everywhere else sucks. We think everywhere else something between a hassle to dangerous but the US is safe. It makes no sense to me. 5 year plan to rescind my citizenship (US citizens are the only people who have to pay income tax to their home country while living abroad. Also credit scores don't follow you across borders).
i live in one of the countries which is on the higher side of crime-rate in europe. the actual dangers you would face here in comparison to america would make you believe you were on the most safe pacifist place on earth xD
i am also convinced impoverished non-Americans have believed a lie that this is a land of opportunity, safety and wealth for all. i don’t doubt you have more suffering under your belt than most americans. but america is not #1.

In China, after dark is when everyone relaxes and many hang out in the square - who isn't working a shift. Street food is cheap.

2:20 Hasan not knowing about China strict visa policy is mindboggling to me.
East asians are told that France is the height of sophistication but end up finding it dirty looool
It’s literally just a more dedicated Las Vegas.
But...Las Vegas isn't abandoned lol? Vegas also triggers social conservatives to the max whereas this...???? What the fuck even is it lol? East Asian culture is wild to me, like they try to replicate western culture but keep it even more conservative. Then somehow weird internet puritanical "leftists" show up to clap and cheer. But they also get mad and arrest you for violating conservative cultural norms? But "leftists" like that? Its wild man. Also really weird. Vegas is all about cocaine and hookers. Not your soft typical stereotypical sex worker either, but the badass type that will hit you over the head with a pistol for being a suburban fuckboy.
Places like this are kind of like Carlsons view on Moscow but come to fruition. Hardcore social conservatives with light left leaning economic views lol. So sad thats enough to make American "left wingers" cheer.
