2014 Ram 3500 4x4 with 73,000 miles bought used with 38,000 miles. I always thought it was dead pedal issue and at times exhaust brake wouldn't always work with my trailer. Yo my brother Clayton....don't forget my DDP swag in that city diesel actuator you just boxed up and shipped out today...LOL Thanks for all time and research you put into dialing in on the best options for my rig and the daily 22,000 - 25,000 lb (2000+ miles per week) pulling abuse I subject it to. 3 yrs and counting with no issues other than RAM's China built shitty actuator.
I am getting a U010C code randomly on my 08 Ram 6.7 with 200,000miles on it everything runs fine I have boost and exhaust break I will clear code it won’t come on for 4 days then boom check engine light and that code keeps popping up do you think it’s the actuator thanks so much
Hey daniel, Clayton here with DDP Motorsports. The actuator code can come and go in the beginning stages. Do the proper checks on the turbo to make sure the turbo is not the issue ( which i don't believe it is ) and then you can safely assume it will more then likely be the actuator. Very rarely is it the turbocharger.
On my 2017 I found that my Jake brake and turbo would work when I start the truck up but then soon after it would fail and then I would lose my Jake and my turbo but then if I shut the truck off wait a little bit turn it back on usually it would start working again. That was my symptoms and this new actuator has fixed that.
@@mikepagel8418 my actuator actually ended up dying. The guy Clayton @claytonensminger above sold me their actuator and it’s the best option and 2 years later it works perfectly. Worth every penny
Do you think a aftermarket remote start can cause these problems and codes it is a plug and play t harness that plugs to obd2 -light switch-and ignition?
Hey bro, just had a frame swap done in a '16 ram 2500 6.7. The shop shit the bed on the entire install so bad it needs to be torn apart and put back together correctly. My question is, from the moment I picked it up it had extremely slugging acceleration, a high pitch screech when I accelerate, and no exhaust brakes. Could the turbo or actuator be damaged during this type of repair? It wasn't like that at all prior to, and seems too coincidental especially considering the slop work on every other element of the build (half of the parts are zip ties to other parts)
so is it most likely the actuator when its very hit or miss? like when the truck runs perfectly fine and then say within 20-30mins of driving the truck just doesnt have that boost down low and just starts to run alittle louder (almost like when a diesel has to regen). Exhaust brake wont work during this problem... but then i can shut off my truck and within any length of time, an hour later/same day when i go to use it again it works 100%? ive noticed that when i idle more or go slower/low rpms it acts more, but if i go on a long trip down the highway say even drive 2000 miles at much higher rpms it wont act up once... this issue has been going on for nearly 15,000 miles or more. has pretty much all the same turbo codes you listed...
From what we have seen from many of our customers is that the issue can in fact be a hit or miss type situation. We have many customers that have told us they have been driving for over a year with similar issues and they have been skating by either resetting the codes or disconnecting the batteries to reset the codes/truck. More then likely it will be the actuator but, feel free to call/contact us anytime so we can better help determine your issue.
