Those springs are adjustable so, if you moved them to the next slot it would pop open like new. Because they were designed to be used with and without a spoiler.
8:02 I recommend getting inline wheels for the chair. You can get a set of 5 for about 20 dollars online. Get the dual inline because they pivot more efficiently. Added bonus with these wheels is that you can roll around the shop silently while also rolling over cracks and debris without getting locked up/scratching the floor. Total game changer.
@@DG_427 if I’m understanding what was said, the 400 horsepower is an underrated power figure / goal to many people because people tend to overlook the differences behind a bit of tuning can make simply by looking and working with the power to weight ratio aspects of tuning. ( I also want to say that this is still just one part of tuning and everything together plays a key role to the overall performance and lol I’m not a expert but this would make probable sense nonetheless.) A car can have less power than the one with more power but if it’s weight is better managed through corner balancing, weight distribution and is just generally yielding a overall lower curb weight ( usually leaning on the emphasis of being a lighter car ) then it can equal a car that should be more powerful and faster than it without the need of having the same amount of additional power to match it, equal it’s contenders performance or even surpass it’s rival’s potential performance while simultaneously retaining its lighter and lower weight benefactor. There’s a saying “ less is more” Lotus made use of this by making lightweight cars that have great power plants without excessive power. They’ve had a quote like “ take away everything and then add lightness.” Mazda has also made their debut in their iconic rotary engines like the 12A, 13B, 20B, the mx5 Mazda Miata ( which is NOT a rotary powered car but it has been done successfully and this car is the embodiment of power to weight ratio ) and a 4 rotor 16X to name a few. Please correct me if I’m wrong or mistaken but I also believe that somewhere around the 1960s Mopar had some race car(s) that they had the metal dipped in acid to further help reduce their vehicle’s weight to help aid in improving their performance and odds in winning big races. In the world of street racing and street tuned cars that have dual purpose like being a reliable fun daily that can be also a weekend warrior on track duty, 400 horsepower is the upper limits of was is within reason to be called “usable, moderate and plentiful “ as the purpose to wield such output intends to be. Less power if done right ( overall tuning of the car like braking capabilities, suspension tuning, engine tuning, gear ratios, torque rating and its delivery etc) can be just as fun and useable. Of course that all depends on the individual’s intended purpose for such. I hope this helps. Cheers 🥂
Extremely, that's what I daily , and I can say first hand , super underrated, and not much on the streets keeps up , and it's funny to see people's reactions .. peace and love all, keep it rad, stay safe, and build on..l8r famz and keep having fun
Endless cycle of misery, but in his case it pays for him so :3. In my neighbors case he's a retard, with 3 project cars for past 6 years and didn't finish none and plans to sell one.
If your street car isn't dailyable for at least a week or two without hating yourself and having it feel like an inconvenience, then it's not a street car, even if you didn't plan it to be your daily, you're gonna enjoy driving it less than you should.
The videos of your miata build is what inspired me, years ago, to buy my first Miata. Now in on Miata #3, and have been to Miatas at the Gap a few times already. Thanks for the addiction
@TheReal_JG I've experienced NA NB and NDs, would like to experience a PRHT NC3 as I think it'd be a really nice daily/fun car. But between the NA and NB, NB is my favorite. ND2s are great but I'm not spending that kinda money on a miata lol
@camber_courtney5250 yeah! I've seen those swaps. My friends actually did one pm their NC. Unfortunately I never drove it before they sold it 😅 they just came out with a k swap kit for those, seems really interesting. Speed Academy did a series with the install in their NC.
I know you probably hear this alot, but you’re the reason i got into Miatas, you and the Car Passion Channel are huge influences in my taste of cars. 💙
i cannot state enough how much that plasma cutter has been a game changer. I started this year with a car mechanics engineering degree (partially thanks to you Caleb
Absolute dream car. I definitely prefer it how it turned out, I love cars that I can both race and drive daily. The trunk and bonnet were a really nice and clean touch!
So to summarize: Bought a daily, had to buy a new daily, racecar'd that daily, needed a daily for parts for new "daily racecar" and took racecar and made it more daily-ish.. Keep up the good work!
I do not know how or why but this is them damn best Miata video on YT. I generally do not watch the "Miata project" videos but this one got me just right. Great job dude!
I absolutely loved this video. I hope there would be more videos like this. Nowadays all the builds are so big that the videos don't have room for "small" things like these. This was so satisfying to watch. Thank you.
another thing i could recommend that i did on my NB miata is replacing the eyeball vents with 3rd gen eclipse vents, they fit almost perfectly in the holes just got to shorten them, it makes the air vents and ac a lot more usable
Hey Caleb. Like you, I started modding out my NB2 for a bit way back in 2018 until I stopped daily driving it in 2020. I'm in the process of 'reverse modifying' my car and changing to an all tan interior. Gonna save up to do a new OEM paint job to get my crusty car back to its former glory. Btw, I love seeing Molly back on this channel.👍
I do like the Miata. 👍 Makes me want to go through my 88 Fiero. I’ve become so much better over 20 years, most of my mods were installed that long ago.
I also have the same Cobalt trunk lift kit from Moss Miata, and mine stopped working after a day. This was before I installed my Carbon Miata carbon fiber spoiler.
They stopped using them in new cars after the 1980s because they were basically an invitation to thieves to please come and break into the car. It's super easy to open this type of window from the outside (regardless if the car is locked or not), and once you got the window open, you can unlock the door from the inside with some hook on a wire. Of course modern cars have an immobilizer, so even if a thief broke the door open that way, they still wouldn't be able to steal the car itself, but they can still steal any of your belongings you left in the car.
Good job dude. Still the cleanest builder on RUclips. Nobody takes care of final touches like you do. I know as a car guy we have all had that “ehh screw it, its fine like that” moment. You go back and fix all those little simple issues that most people try to live with.
I would recommend wiring that trunk popper to work on ignition power only. I’ve seen and heard of many cases of accessories like this on cars, wired to direct battery power, that end up causing phantom power drains and dead batteries over time.
Im literally getting giddy watching this because Im about to turn my turbo NB back into my daily driver soon. All of the mods you did are things I've been wanted to do for a while. My interior needs a lot of help lol.
Once A/C is added into this the old love for this car is gonna come back even more. Can already tell taking away some of the inconvenience has brought back some of the fun back.
Probably not going to be able to drive my car much, if at all, this winter. This is definitely sparking some ideas of what I might try to do in the meantime!
hey Caleb not trying to down you any way just give you some advice to help you out the kicker will not sound good going straight to the radio you need to get a amplifier
Holy shit I love this :D As this is exactly what every car guy, even without a youtube channel or backed by sponsors goes through :D Get a daily, ruin it with mods to the point where it's not comfortable, get a new daily, find an idea on how to mod it and while it's on jacks - use the very first project car you had to actually daily it :D Keep up the good work man!
Im interested in why tbh. That stroker 1.6 is capable of more in theory. The guy he got it from used to make more than 600 if I recall right. Hope our guy wasnt scammed again
lots of cool little mods, one i'd like to see is an extension for the blinker lever after installing a steering wheel. i gotta really reach for the blinker cuz gots tiny hands
electrician tip from an apprentice time. when u go to strip the wires, initially hold the wire strippers at an angle like this -/-> and after you cut the insulation flick your wrist and turn the strippers like -\-> the insulation should be much easier to remove
Might need to learn left from right over.. Aside from that, i highly suggest ditching the factory door armrest. Get one from a Geo Tracker, yes, a tracker. It bolts right in & free's up a TON of leg room. Youll thank me later. Its a must for anyone tall, which i know you're not, but worth doing nonetheless.
Is that the Jass Performance Engine Bay light kit from Moss Miata? If it is, I want to know how long it lasts you. I've gone through 2 sets with a total run time of 7 minutes between the 2 units.

Dude something about refining a older daily driver and modernizing the lack luster or mundane parts of it is soooo satisfying
In my later more mature years refinement appeals to me SO much.
OEM+ :)
Definitely 😍 I'd love a Merc C126.
Maybe after my V12 build 😂
400hp Miata daily driver is super under rated.
Yes they run 10s in quarter mile 😊
What the does this even mean? Sounds like something you'd hear in r/carscirclejerk.

Bro, how many perfect daily drivers is this guy gonna build
Gonna infinitely buy daily drivers mod them to be too shitty to daily drive and continue the process
Deadass I’m like bro why this video sounds familiar shits getting kinda stale

Days ago, I purchased a 2002 MX-5 and will need some work! Your video totally inspires me to work on my Miata! Thank you much!
Awesome 😎👍
I am building my dream V12 supercar with the OG zonda engine (Mercedes M120)

I had the biggest gut feeling when the video started talking about seats he was gonna put corbeus in it
Yeeees, miata videos!! The reason why I subscribed a long time ago. It's always good seeing it get some love
I prefer a 120* intercooler elbow jammed in an almost shut passenger window, aimed at my head as opposed to the vent window. Works very well
This is awesome man, glad to see the old yata getting some love!
Jesus the amount of flex in them fake brides is scary…😳 Glad you changed them out. 👍🏻
Dude those powersports style speakers in the back was a brilliant idea! Gonna try this in my miata.

We need to see some more drift truck action 🎉🎉
all these years later and this is still my favorite Miata on RUclips

those seats are so fire dude always wanted a set
So happy to see Molly back !! A pleasure to see young Caleb back with the mods ;) Miot is always the answer.

You should check the wiring for the fuse box. Replacing a main relay shouldn't be a 'consumable'. It's most likely burned and corroded.
Man that’s nice. Perfect daily mods
Brilliant! Please share the links to the gas struts and lights!
The prototipo works in both a miata and an old 911, its next on my to do list ✅
