      ghost walk Agreed! It seems this family most likely had the best lead to find Dennis, and it was ignored by law enforcement, and the FBI. It was never reported in the newspaper, or otherwise. Someone has some explaining to do..

    • @ghostwalk2446
      @ghostwalk2446 6 лет назад +8

      I know right!? The ONLY lead, actually, the only shred of evidence in this case and not only did investigators choose to ignore this, they didn't even mention it to the father after promising he'd be told of any information they found. Absolutely horrible. I honestly don't know how Mr. Martin kept his cool without ripping someone's head off.

    • @IBeMelissa
      @IBeMelissa 6 лет назад +14

      Ikr? What's even more fucked up is the fact the FBI *refused* to meet the Key family near the area of their sighting...like why not? The fact that family didn't speak up about the matter again makes me think they were warned to keep silent. Dennis's family were constantly lied to about what was going on and if park officials/the government did know the truth...the fact they kept it a secret for over 45 years is sickening. I can't imagine the pain his family went through...to lose a child like that and never see him again without any closure. So sad.

    • @ghostwalk2446
      @ghostwalk2446 6 лет назад +9

      IBeMelissa- You bring up another good point. When listening to the details about this case, I've always wondered why we hear about this from everyone except for the Key family. The only ones to see what happened, are the only ones we don't hear from. I'm guessing you're right, they were most likely "warned to keep silent". It's so frustrating when you hear David Paulides say something like "When the Key family saw this thing running, they heard a scream that was unlike anything they've ever heard". Then when you hear Dwight McCarver talk about this, he says "The Key family heard a child scream." So which is it? I would love to see an interview with the Key family to get the details straightened out once and for all.

    • @IBeMelissa
      @IBeMelissa 6 лет назад +15

      It's also strange that the other Martin family weren't interviewed either... their kids were playing with Dennis closest to where he vanished. I would have liked to hear their side. And good point...DP said the Key family heard a 'sickening scream' which seems very different from a mere child scream... It's like a lot of details keep changing with this case or are inconsistent. Personally I still believe Dennis was abducted by wild men/cannibals who live and hunt deep in these forests or even outside the borders and park officials can't control them. This seems more logical than saying a bigfoot kidnapped him imo...I guess we'll never know. Whatever happened, I'm sure this boy died.

  • @kickazz9473
    @kickazz9473 6 лет назад +18

    This is the NOT how dennis's father explains his sons disappearance happening. Another family approached him and asked if their kids could play together. The kids started playing hide and seek. His dad watched him run and hide behind a bush. When all the kids were found he went to the bush to get Dennis. Dennis was just gone his dad took off running down the trail behind the bush. Then came back and told his dad to go get park rangers. Another family an hour and a half later and 5 miles away. Heard the most blood curdling scream they've ever heard.

      Exactly..that was a major sighting in this case. The Key's family son thought he saw a bear until his father realised it was a large, athletic looking hairy man seemingly carrying something on its shoulder. They had no idea a child was missing at that time until they heard about Dennis .. whatever they saw, the FBI refused to meet the family at the location they witnessed that man/creature. Red flags there. And it never made it to the press. Something strange is definitely residing in these woods and the government is hiding it. I can't imagine losing a child and never finding out what happened to them .. for 45 years too?? Poor family.

      IBeMelissa - so true. What you just described the government knew yet wouldn't allow the local news and larger national news outlets to reveal. Including what happened the mysterious circumstances as to why the Green Beret regimen showed up. The results of their search. What happened to that FBI agent. What Dennis Miller's father found out. Why one of the park rangers could not accept the excuse that FBI agent gave as to why the Key families eye witness account was invalid to the investigation. There is a lot more to this story than what was reported in this news report but they don't want the public being privy to it.

God bless David Pauldeies for telling the facts of these eerie missing persons cases. I have signed a petition for the park service to keep a list and make it foia accessable. Go to CanAm missing.com if you are so inclined. It is an absolute outrage how the Martin family was lied to by the park service and the media. It is also an outrage that the National Park Service say they "keep no list" of the missing. Please check this out before you plan your next vacation at a park.

    there are 2 versions of this story. This one that claims the kids were going to play a prank and scare the adults and Dennis never showed up and the other version that stated the kids were playing hide and seek, Dennis's father saw him hide behind a bush maybe 40 feet away from him and then was never seen again. Not sure which is true.

    45 years of forest debris is not equal to “45” deep covering the clues of the disappearance of Dennis Martin”. The thing that was over looked is that the temperate climate of the Appalachian Mountains decomposes the debris and anything that is organic within a relatively short time period. As the impact of animals as well and you can see how fast evidence can disappear. Many carnivores actually bury uneaten remains which would accelerate the decomposition.

      Parts of a child's skull, a couple of ribs. In 1985, Dwight Mc Carter received a phone call claiming that a partial child's skeleton was located near a fallen tree overlooking a flat ridge and Mc Carter was given the location to the letter by a caller he knew.
      . 30 volunteers went looking but nothing was found a couple of days later at that same location.
      He stated that the bones were there as early as 1973 according to the caller. He knew a couple of Ginseng hunters by his own admission. I believe that one of those Ginseng hunters or someone they knew had a hand in on kidnapping Dennis Martin Jr. It wouldn't surprise me if those bones were found.....quietly put in a plastic bag....gone.

    Every video I watch about this case seems like something new is mentioned... Why is that? Like... They found one of Dennis' shoes, how the other Martin family never asked what was the family's last name, the color of Dennis' shirt that day, and now this-- How they wanted to scare the adults by jumping out scaring them. What even? 😕

  • @alwaysnaked7642

    So in this video piece they state that the group of kids we're going to play hide and seek, and scare the adults in camp. The group of kids are the last ones to see him alive. Im really thinking that child met a most tragic end to his short life. Never getting the chance to grow up and live life. Someone, even to this day know's something about what happened to him. You just don't vanish into thin air. You know out there in the wilderness I'm sure there are old cave systems and pitfalls for hunting and all sorts of thing's only true Woodsman know. As large as that place is and as fast nature covers a layer of thicket year after year. Sad to say they may never find any trace of that poor child. But, who know's one day many years from now. Someone somewhere will trip and fall on something sticking out of the ground, or walk into an old abandoned cave, and find the tattered remains of a loved one who has been missing for so long. But never forgotten in their's, and ours, and my heart.

      I thought bear right away but his brother saw which bush Dennis entered and was observing the bush. The brother investigated to check on Dennis but didn’t see anything. An animal would’ve made a mess and if it didn’t go for the throat Dennis might have been able to let out a cry for help. There would’ve been commotion or blood. He was kidnaped. Either someone snuck up on him and hit him over the head knocking him out and carried him away. Or someone he knew followed him into the bush and lead him away which is why there was no sign of struggle and why he didn’t scream. The Key family said they heard a scream after he went missing. This could have been after Dennis came to from being knocked out. This is all speculation.
