An emotion experience that I wish no individual would ever even chance to imagine.
I happen to be what now has come to be labeled as an "Empath", defined as one whom is "highly sensitive", and this can actually be quite mis-directing in our era and state if Humans whom are encouraged towards and largely taught "in the Left-brain area", (when the focus us singularly on this area it is: highly 3D Logic only, hard right turns, absence in the creative, feelings, emotions, natural intuitive, etc), Right Brain is the Philosophical, Creative, Melodic, Literature, Art, Curves and free flowing, very much in touch with the emotions and FEELINGS/FEELING OF, thus Intuitive and Physchi energies, that which animals use equally to any learned values).
The Empath is better defined as having a noticeable and variable degrees of Feeling, Sensing, Knowing, Seeing, Hearing, and like all humans, with individual uniqueness. Thus they are somehow dieses stronger in their innate natural traits, some call gifts, but all have, just for one reason or another they are at varying degrees and can very much be shut down *"by thought, learned ideas, largely untrue",* the very manner in which everyone creates their reality begins and is highest influenced by Thought - per Quantum Physics"Universal Law of Attraction".
Sensitive denotes its the individuals shortcoming, their weakness, somethin they should overcome.
It is more correctly, "senses", as Empaths feel "Facts" and can feel a "description of" and for some it can be overwhelming, it requires Knowledge, Understanding, and for greater purpose Mastering.
Thus, this subjects scenario is one I would have been best self-advised to avoid.
      Tragic and truly sad.

This search was his first, I believe, but he would participate in a number over the years until his heath became prohibitive. He was a veteran of WWII and Korea, an avid outdoorsman, but this incident impacted not only his life but shaped my families as well. He passed his love of the outdoors and in particular the Appalachians along to me and I have in turn on to my children. Because of this disappearance my father took and thought me to take special precautions and to be always evaluating my surroundings.

Not only is there infallible proof that Christ was everything he said he was and his miracles and actions are so documented that to not believe that Christ is the son of man is more of A leap of faith then it is to believe in him with all of your heart and soul and love him and fear him with all of your power and might. When I hear someone doesn’t believe in God the first thought that comes to my mind is here is someone with either an evil mind or a very small mind that does not have the capacity to conceptualize the belief in our maker. God is the reason why you are here and that is just a simple fact. Trying to prove otherwise will make you a believer in God‘s only son, Jesus Christ. I pray for your ability to open your eyes and expand your mind and stop believing in white man has told you because man will always fail but our Lord Jesus Christ will never for sake us or lead us into the pits of hell. Living in the mountains you learn the sounds of nature, the calls of animals, and the familiar noises of people. Then there are times where you hear things you know deep down no human or animal that you know of can make, even when dying. It is almost instinctual, like rocks hitting the bottom of your diaphragm when you hear them, that whatever made these sounds are inhuman at best. All “the powers that be” need to do are push the crazies in the right direction and Paulides gets discredited by association. Heck, it’s possible folks in the government simply don’t want all these missing people reports taken seriously because it makes the Parks Services look bad. There might be little to no Bigfoot in the works. Then the feds just have to get us bigfooters involved to discredit Paulides. My dog was outside and I was on my bed reading a book. All of a sudden my dog started barking like crazy. It soon turned into wimpiers and yelps soon she was banging at the door trying to get in. When I let my dog in I saw something in the woods. It looked like a bear but it was huge. It stood at 7 feet and had long muscular arms and legs and looked hairy. Three weeks later there was a story of two hunters that saw something about 3 miles from my house they described it like I did.

I remember when bigfoot was so mainstream but the thing is people liked to make up evidence just to support they're stupid claims of bigfoot being seen by them or others. I remember watching "Finding bigfoot" on TV and thinking wow this show is amazing yet I grew up and by growing up I learn to not trust as much and with that I realized how much of a joke the show was. The show was on for year's and they would do the same thing every episode , just to sum it up here is a quick excerpt from what each episode would be.
The bigfoot searchers would rally people up and say "who here believes in bigfoot" and after that they would say something like "would you like to tell you're story" and ultimately someone would say yes and blah blah they would tell they're story and after that the bigfoot searchers would go to that location and investigate. Basically every episode was like watching ghosthunters, something would move or yell and they would go to the conclusion that the thing was bigfoot and that's it. No evidence at all, maybe they had a cast of the foot or hair or something but it would never lead to anything.
Anyway I want to believe you're story but without proof I can't really say a yes or a no.

My dad would always get suowr freaked out when I’d want to go off-trail while hiking when I was a kid and even a teen, especially if we were visiting his parents in Western Carolina. It was always so odd how almost hysterical he’d get and he’s a fairly gruff man unlikely
To show much emotion most of the time. One day I asked him if he ever had any weird experiences in the woods after I had my first weird encounter when I was a kid. Then he told me. My dad grew up in the Smokies, and would often go camping near the NC-Tennessee border. It was the 60s and he was like 13 or something when He went off-trail one hike and started to feel uneasy a few miles up into the mountains. There was wood-knocking and something about something peering from behind the trees. Something started to chase him, it caught him, but he’s never been able to tell me the whole story for some reason. The only other detail I ever got is he ran from some cave in the night and was chased again. It was the most he ever ran but he made it back to camp and it didn’t follow him further. He never answers when I ask if that’s why he’d get so worked up if I wanted to off trail or alone, and I’ve always wanted to know what he remembers from those nights, but I know not to push him. Whatever happened was enough to traumatise him so badly he still won’t talk about it almost 60 years later.

The bringing in of the armed forces definitely indicates an unusual situation with unusual parameters all by itself. Simple fact of the eyewitness of a tall, hair like creature and an accompanying scream seems obvious to us of what it is and in my mind there's no doubt that the Rangers knew exactly what they were dealing with. This is a case that still can be investigated. There's definitely a paper trail and some men in their 70s who are alive today who can still speak to the event.

Not only armed forces, Green Berets. That detail has always been so strange to me. Why call them of all people out on a MP case? There’s another 411 case where they were also called in, and it’s equally lacking a clear explanation. I’ve heard Bigfoot stories where GB are specifically called in related to BF, but those are almost all unsubstantiated beyond the telling of the story itself, this 100% happened and I cannot understand why if we’re talking any known circumstance. BF or not, something strange happened that we have no been told about.

At the time Mr. Paulides covered this case, he did believe the missing people in his cases were being killed and/or taken by Bigfoot -- he just didn't spell it out. But moving from the Hoopa Project to the Tribal Bigfoot book to the first two volumes of Missing 411, does show a direct pattern.
At first, in the Hoopa Project, Mr. P was repeatedly emphatic that the animals or beings he was interviewing the Hoopa tribe about, were non-violent. If I recall correctly (though I may be misremembering), he even excluded tales of any such threatening from his criteria for interviewing eyewitnesses, simply because the tales didn't fit in with most of what he was finding in his initial interviews.
This emphasis continued through most of the (much larger) Tribal Bigfoot sequel. But then toward the end, a shift occurs. Mr. P starts running into tribal women who begin hinting that tribal women are being abducted by the creatures and no one wants to talk about it. One of Mr. P's research partners, being a woman herself, was able to get the witnesses to open up more about this topic. This surprised Mr. P greatly. It also bothered his female research partner enough that, if I recall correctly, she quit going out on site inspections (for case research, not to hunt anything), because she felt like she was being targeted.
The plan at the end of the Tribal Bigfoot book was to continue this research project with more interviews with other tribes in different national park regions, expanding out from the Pacific Northwest region (which he had already started to some extent).
Then that project went dead. And then the Missing 411 series started being released. Wherein Mr. Paulides explained that he got into this topic because while researching on a different topic (of a category unstated) in National Park systems, he was approached by a pair of rangers who had heard about his unstated research on this other topic (i.e. the Tribal Bigfoot interview project), and wished he would put his skills into considering National Park disappearances, too. From which he segued into the core material for what became his Missing 411 research.
Now, it's true that Mr. P no longer thinks (thanks to very varying results from his Missing 411 research) that Bigfoot is exactly the answer -- he claims his original (unstated) theory for the disappearances simply doesn't add up with the data, usually. I like to quip, only half-joking, that by now his theory must be fairy Bigfoot aliens!
But once upon a time, there was a definite trajectory that led from the Hoopa Project to the first Missing 411 books. And his latest book (after the recent Missing 411: L.A.W.), which I haven't gotten yet, saving it for a free slot in my reading schedule later this year, is a thorough collection of wild-man / ape-man / clearly bigfoot-like stories from pre-modern newspaper accounts in North America.
So the topic is certainly still on his mind. And while I have a few critiques of his (Missing 411) methodology, I do appreciate his work, and I think it's important.
And I honestly hope someone alerts him of your fine video, and points him to it, as I think he'll like it.

With ALL the strangeness of chance involved 1 example of interest went unmentioned. The Key family ask where they could go to view a bear and the ranger sent them to an area where they just HAPPENED to view someone or something on 2 legs carrying an object on it's shoulders. What are the chances that the ranger wouldn't say "Any place is as good as the next" is weird given that in that area any place is in fact as good as the next.
The FACT that the Key family seemingly witnessed an obduction in progress by chance is bizarre alone from the fact that they, the Key family, were instructed as to WHERE to go for the purpose of viewing a bear when factually speaking viewing a bear is common throughout the smokies.

Bob, your greatest work! Congratulations. I will become a sponsor. I met Dave Paulides at a conference on paranormal stuff. Clearly a good man. And I have read several of his books and his account of poor Dennis Martin. I also read a book sold at Cades Cove by someone at the CC shelter near the parking lot to the entrance to Cades Cove's loop road (a book of the 6 missing persons stories in GSMNP. Paulides is a former police officer/investigator. His reputation is grounded, fortunately, in that work. The minute - the second - he strays into the speculative world he risks undermining his well-rooted-in-facts background. I applaud him for sticking to the facts and let us spectators speculate until the cows come home.
Finally someone (Bob G) has spoken the full truth about poor Dennis Martin and his sad family. Feral people does seem a stretch. But in 1977 I dated a girl who grew up in east TN and "Deliverance" (movie) had come out in 1972. So I asked her if there was some truth and she was adamant that one did not go driving or God forbid hiking in certain areas. I ended up visiting her home and it was remote. I wish I knew what town it was near but I don't recall. Then I might be able to connect the dots to the Dennis Martin case.
I am extremely well read on Bigfoot to the point of my many siblings thinking I have "lost it" in my old age.
Here are the only things I could "add" to Bob's excellent compilation. One of the Search and Rescue (SNR) people was a guy named McCarter who was considered one of the best human tracker's around and he really knew the Park. He characterized the Dennis Martin case as the most perplexing cases and (in my words) caused him much grief. He believed that it was a feral mountain man. But did he, like Paulides and just about everyone involved in SNR have to "be careful". After all anyone back in 1969 or after, that would have started speaking in public about an (e.g.,) 8 foot tall Bigfoot (and remember this is 2 years after the filming of "Patty" by Patterson/Gimlin) abducting a child would have been vilified and lost his job. Imagine, if this had caught on and built up a full head of steam in the public's eye what this would have done to the entire national and state park systems.
Today there is a BF researcher, Scott Carpenter, who is still getting incredible but admittedly somewhat odd pictures of BF in east TN. I camp almost annually in CC and go hiking alone and it is not without an element of fear NOR without several cans of bear spray repellent. Just in case.
What's not hypothesized here is the possible use of infra-sound. Maybe Mr. Martin didn't take his eyes off of his son. After all there were a lot of pairs of eyes involved and unless we explore the supernatural possibilities or underground caves/tunnels as an escape route, how did such a large creature take a child in a seemingly open area (from behind a bush). I believe that BF does have infrasound capabilities and simply makes "sounds" that we don't hear that temporarily confuse people - thus there is a blip in their perception of reality that doesn't stand out as anything. Kind've like the time I passed out cold, due to an inflammation in my brain. There was no warning. I was conscious/normal then I was on the floor with people trying to help. I had no awareness of how I got from "here to there". A perfect mechanism for capturing a prey.
Finally, it is fairly well documented that indigenous American Indian's would kill or kidnap European settlers. This was likely for slavery or for sex/reproduction. For example, the story of Sacagawea who accompanied Lewis and Clark was one of abduction by Indians of another Indian. One true story I read from early 1800' where a young boy and others were kidnapped. His mother eventually escaped. That boy was raised as an Indian and that was pretty much all he knew. Years later contact was made with him by his family and it wasn't like he immediately wanted to go back "home". Home was with the Indians. Some American Indians viewed the Sasquatch as just another Indian Tribe. I recently met an American Indian and when he was much younger (Oklahoma) his elders talked about BF as being human and that they interacted years ago and had a common speech. Others had said the same. And of course, Bob has reported that the minister Elkanah Walker recorded (1841) that the Indians in the Washington State area had a "myth" about giants who were "men (women and children) stealers" - for food? companionship? reproduction?
There are other stories in Mr Paulides amazing collection that indicate where a child was taken and apparently not for food or by a human. The one were a couple sees a child in a cliffed area that no human could have reached without technical climbing equipment and just like in the Martin case this couple later recognized this was the child reported to have gone missing at the same time and was in the same color of clothing. They were stunned to see a young child in such a precarious place and then suddenly the child was quickly moved back (how ?) away from the cliff and out of sight.
Is it possible that BF like other species knows not to inter-breed and so it kidnaps a close species for breeding purposes like human's have done? American Indians, I have read, would marry outside of their tribe to avoid inter-breeding. Is it possible that poor Dennis Martin is actually still alive today living somewhere with a BF "family" - he would be about 56 years old. Much stranger than fiction. Too unbearable to fathom.
Proof of anything? No. But a wonderfully interesting set of dots that connect easily and mysteriously - presenting still more questions than answers. Clearly the government knows about BF. Clearly the park service people knew to keep their mouths shut. Isn't it clear that if my girl friend who grew up in that area knew about mysterious dangers in the woods might it be that rangers and other employees tell their stories and hand down stories from the past. That is why they sent the Green Beret, armed via helicopters and searched primarily in the night.
Keep up the great work Bob.

Little O , I think one of the reasons those deep woods hillbilly types are so dangerous, especially back then, were the moonshine stills they had going. (now it's pot plants)As a kid I lived 80 miles NE of where Dennis Martin went missing. They'd display the stills the police busted up on the front lawn of the courthouse back then. Looking back now I shudder to think of the countless hours I spent wandering all alone in the woods of those hills, I was a extra small kid for my age, but I never told anyone where I was going. I never saw a deer, much less a bear, come to think of it, never saw or heard any wildlife. But at CC we were surrounded by skunks, they were use to visitors feeding them. I think sometimes BF may take kids if a female can't have one or lost one, although the chances they'd survive long in those conditions wouldn't great.
P.S. No one, no matter how inbred backwoods they are, would be wearing FUR in June there!

    • @rduran3294
      @rduran3294 5 лет назад +3

Little O, I think you're on to something and I agree with you. However, I also believe that not all of the disappearances are due to BF. I think that's limiting and rules out other possibilities. Remember the story of the farmer who disappeared in his field while his family watched from the front porch of their house? They never found him, yet at the spot where he disappeared, they could hear him until day by day his voice became weaker and weaker until one day it was gone and he was never heard from again. And we all know of sick individuals in our society that prey on the vulnerable and the strange ways they may use to disguise their crimes. I do believe that the Key family saw a BF that day and submit that was the purpose of the green beret's presence. I think that may have been the FBI's reason for being there, also. Because it may have been true and they have their own agendas, as we have painfully discovered (in today's world).

Though the passive nature of the creature in the Keys' account is a tad questionable. It could be an instance of unstable fostership, like a real life Tarzan. Creature loses offspring, takes child as surrogate.

It happens in the wild, almost all predators attack young. Big cats are known to attack offspring, sometimes as they are just born espc. if it is desperate. Its the same thing, easy prey, one that wont put up a big fight and is light enough to carry quickly away from the scene. Typical predatory behaviour. They look for the weaker prey first e.g. the sick, wounded or young. No need to expel more energy than necessary; besides if you release more energy than gaining from a kill, it isnt all too beneficial or worth it isnt it? Is it because its a human thats its sickening to you? You wouldnt bat an eye if it was another animal. Its nature friend. It aint Zootopia or Lion King. Its just how the cookie crumbles sometimes. Sometimes you gotta realize we arent always at the top of the food chain.

Bob... I think the agencies (parks, FBI and the army) were working together.
Consider that Green Beret hunter/killer squad... it's 1969... they are fresh Vietnam vets. They know how to track and how to kill.
It's compartmentalized. The parks dept had their role. The FBI had their role and the hunter/killers had their role. They didn't intermingle. They were orchestrated to suppress a story that would've shook a nation and kill a creature that was now revealed as a child killer.
The father had to be kept in the dark. The witness needed to be delayed and quarantined and the media had to mollify the facts into something that was digestible to the public.
I could go on... but this took a maestro and a lot of specifically worded NDAs.
They did find it. They did kill it and routed out the others and destroyed the evidence. And all the involved agencies now have plausible deniability.

Yet it doesn't explain many other strange disappearances in the Missing 411 books. Bigfoot might explain some. But no where all these odd disappearances.

Abductions always occur during days or nights of the week.
Often victims are not wearing gloves, earrings, or long underwear
Victims always have hair or a lack of hair
All abductions occur on a day of the month that is a multiple of 1 or 2
89% of the cases involve syrups (including honey and molasses) and or cassette tapes
Most victims have a family member or friend named Robert, James, or Karen
Many victims last names contain the letters E S F and less commonly but still worth mentioning: W
All of the victims did or did not have shoes on when found
Some of the victims had visited Europe at some point and the ones that didn't would have liked to
Most of them were standing, sitting or walking when last seen
And most strikingly: Every single one off the victims were of below average, average or above average intelligence

I watched this video a few days ago, listened to Paulides talk about it and then went to some sceptic channels. What strikes me about the expanded Keys account is that Mr Key says he heard a child shout for help, followed by the scream then a dishevelled man went by himself and his family and got into a White car that was parked next to the road. Seems rather odd that one he didn't say anything to the dishevelled man and two that this account is made years/decades later. It also struck me particularly strange that Mr Key's daughter, during one of the interviews, stated that her father was a brave war era guy and served in the military and if he thought a child was in danger he'd have been straight to them. Something does not add up and the emphasis they put on this made it seem like guilt to me. Could be reading to much into it.

The treatment of the Key's report is really strange. My first thought within the "normal" spectrum of possibilities was that the figure they saw could have been someone wearing a ghillie suit. That's also how someone could have been very close to the Martins without being visible, since a good ghillie can make someone completely undetectable at very close range. There's also the possibility that someone could have snatched the boy and had some sort of faster transport such as a bike to cross a greater distance more quickly. So the dismissal of the sighting seems very strange and irresponsible to me.

Baffling points about the case mentioned in the book:
After the agencies left (green berets and FBI), the national park authorities called off the civilian search claiming the hundreds of individuals looking for Dennis were "disrupting wildlife" and "damaging the underbrush". When Mr. Martin confronted them stating he still had 200 men waiting to search for Dennis he was told he would only be allowed to bring in 25 people for the search party. Apparently the state of the park is more important than a six year old boy missing.
Mr. Keyes said that, after the scream they heard, his son (still covering his years) pointed to a hill covered with tall trees and said "look, dad, a bear!", Mr. Keyes then says he was sure it wasn't a bear, and it immediately started to run up the hill on two legs, carrying something on it's back. Bears can indeed stand on two legs, but run up a hill using only two legs while carrying something over their shoulder as if it was nothing? bears don't do that kind of thing, the way their legs are oriented limits that type of movement.

    Hey Bob,
I have heard and read several versions of this story and Mr. Key was interviewed when he was about 93 and said that he never saw a bear and neither did his daughter or two sons and that he was farther ahead than they were but he and one of his sons heard a scream. He also said he saw a white car when they came up and that there was a man who was walking out of the woods, never said it was carrying anything and he never said he was shaggy or a moonshiner but he was very sweaty. There were also GBs in the area doing training and one of the rangers called them to see if they could assist. It’s NOT uncommon for GBs to help out with searches for missing people or children ESPECIALLY if they are doing training in the area. I love your videos but I feel like this one might have been a little conspiracy theory like than what actually happened. It seems pretty clear from all the information that the guy the was walking to the car had something to do with the boy but we could only speculate since nobody ever got the plate number or make and model. I’d definitely like to talk to you more about this video if you’re open to it.
