Great review, it was helpful to me. Signed up ! I wanted to ask you (or someone who can answer me): can you tell me a shared web hosting provider that supports the execution of CGI scripts in Ruby (> = 2.5) and Python (> = 3.6) (not apps in Ruby / Python that would require a VPS but simply CGI scripts); and can manage multiple websites (> = 6) and good wordpress support? All at a good price?
Will I be able to transfer my WordPress website from DreamHost to another provider at the end of the plan period? So for instance, if I host a WordPress website with DreamHost for 1 year and then want to transfer it to BlueHost or SiteGround, would that be possible? Do providers make it difficult to transfer/migrate sites at the time of renewal or transfer? Please advice.
Hey James, there would be no problems what so ever. The process is quite fast and easy to do. I even have some tutorials on my channel. So, you could definitely host for a year and then bail :D
@@Emit.Reviews Thanks mate. Some folks told me that DreamHost cPanel can be a pain and not user friendly in such matters. I also emailed DH support and commented on their youtube videos, but received no reply, which doesn't give me much confidence. Could you please provide links to your video tutorial that you mentioned. Thanks heaps!
Dreamhost doesn't actually use cPanel. cPanel is a 3rd party program and web hosting providers pay a licensing fee to use it. That's why web hosting providers that use their own custom control panels instead of cPanel can offer cheaper hosting. In my opinion, the DreamHost control panel is quite easy to navigate, but as I mention in the video it's still a beta version so sometimes things dont go as expected. The tutorial is here ruclips.net/video/948T9P0qirs/видео.html
Managed WordPress vs WordPress Acceleration (LSCWP) simple bussiness hostinger is cheaper than optimized worpressed hosting hostinger tell mw which one to buy . I have watched your video still confused
Managed WordPress means you get "help" running your website. That usually means automatic updates, personal support, staging environments. LSCWP means Litespeed cache wordpress and this means that they're using another type of servers to host your site. These severs utilize server side caching and make your website faster. So to answer your questions. Managed WordPress offer more ease of use and utllity tools if you're not sure how website management works, this will be easier to control. LSCWP will be faster in terms of loading speed. Me personally, I would recommend LSCWP because I value speed over utility. And if you're just creating 1 site you wont notice much difference with the management tools
Wix sites can't be migrated out of Wix at all. It's the biggest downside of their platform. Once created on Wix it'll only work on Wix, while websites created with WordPress on any random host are cross-compatible
If you plan to have a lot of clients I recommend SiteGround. Because they allow you to create seperate log in information for each client. That means you can give them access to their accounts without compromising on safety ( they will only see their site). And you will be able to host everyone on the same plan (reduces hosting costs for you). You can get a discount here emit.reviews/go/siteground-2021
You need to go into your websitefiles and find the .htaccess file. Sometimes it's hidden so check the settings tab and look for the "show hidden files" option. Then remove these lines of code from the file "RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{HTTPS} off RewriteRule ^(.*)$ %{HTTP_HOST}%{REQUEST_URI} [L,R=301]" Then save the file and go into your WordPress dashboard, in the "Settings" tab change the site URL and WordPress URL from Https:// to Also remove all plugins that force the redirect like Really Simple SSL if you have it installed.
