thank you! you are a really great teacher! thanks for showing the part at the end... I had used wordpress before and was confused that I couldn't search themes or see the wp dashboard
Joseph Thanks for doing the video. You make it look easy. I have been with Dreamhost since 2003. My website is pretty much static for some years now I did not have time to keep up with all the programming, scripting etc. Not to mention all the technical problems. What I would like to do is get all my content sized and ready before loading the Wordpress. Do you think that is possible? Thanks Steve
Thanks for watching, Steve! Wow...2003! Let me know if I can help or if you have any questions. I will say, static websites are solid as a rock when it comes to not having to update. With WordPress, you'll need to update often and regularly, but making changes to your site is much easier.
Hello. Great video. I am looking to set up a website with a blog within. Is it not possible to add a theme as easily as you show in the second option as it is if we leave the boxes checked in the first option. I am new at this and still deciding if Dreamhost is the way for me to go. Thanks.
Hi Traci, thanks for the comment. Yes, you can add a theme a variety of ways to your WordPress website and it really just comes down to preference. I think it can even be easier to add like I did in the video by doing it after you've installed WordPress on your hosting provider.
How does the base wordpress website hosting hold up to online processing needs? Do you suggest leveraging the Dreamhost cloud server or any of those upgrades to keep the site speed fast?
I'd recommend their WordPress Basic hosting until there's a business reason to upgrade to DreamPress. Unless you have much larger needs than a business website, it's hard for me to see 99% of businesses needing a cloud server.
Hi Joseph, I've purchased the domain name&hosting following your tutorial...but I got stuck at One-Click Installer because instead of being able to see the WordPress window, I get a messagge saying that I need at least one hosted domain!
@@JosephBojang Hello Joseph, thanks for your video. It is very informative. I also have the same problem like Monica. Can you help me? shoot me a mssge at harleydba@gmail.com
Hi Suzy, Dreamhost is the hosting for WordPress which is what you can use to create a website. I use Dreamhost, but you can use any host that you like.
Hi, can i add a second independent Wordpress site to my Dreamhost account, that is hosted by another provider? Basically, i would like to build the site through Dreamhost but, use an existing domain. Thanks.
Yes, you can do it a couple ways. You can add a separate site as a subdomain (e.g., example.cjay.com). Or, if you are on a hosting plan that allows you to host unlimited websites you can use add hosting to the domain.
Hi C W, you can save the pages as drafts so only you can see the updates. Alternatively, if you are using Dreamhost you can buy the Dreampress WordPress hosting that allows for a temporary website link while you build it out.
Building a website? Drop your comment with your website link, I'd love to check it out!
As a tip, I would reduce the sound of the intro and the length of it, in general, people want content - not your intro :)
Thanks, Lenard. :)
"Make sure you spelled it correctly" Did you learn that the hard way! lol Thank you for the tutorial! just what I needed

Hey Chase, you should have received an email to the new course platform. I’ll resend your details to you if you already have access.

im totally unable to get to the WP side of my page, any ideas?
Hi PJ, what happens...is there a password issue, or something else?
Is there a way to work on the web site before it uploads it? I don’t want it to be published until I’m ready.
