I happily use Cloudways - and yes, if you want to livechat to the support, you need to get around the useless chatbot. But I never waited longer than 5 mins. until I had a real technician in the line. And they solved all my problems within minutes. Could I use DO, AWS or Google directly - sure. But what you didn't mention in you video is, that the guy's at Cloudways also manage all your server installations. Most other VPS come with absolutely no patching or updating your server OS/Apache/PHP/MariaDB, ect... The guys at Cloudways manage your server installations, and you do not have to spend a single minute on updates. Also the interface of the Cloudways platform is really well done. You can run backups as often as you want, you can clone servers, installations and stage you projects within a click. And getting rid of all that hassle, while actually winning back time, is it worth for me. Before, I was hosting my projects at another VPS provider, that provided me the same hardware specs but zero server-management. And they didn't even provide a live chat, and if you mailed to them, you where lucky to get an answer within 24 hours... All they sold was a static IP and SSH.
@@Emit.Reviews Yeah, what ever... Just take another test account and type something like "alfdskjfa" into the chat widget. The bot will send you to a human straight away. :) And yes, I really don't know where their "bad" reputation comes from. For me, it works perfect for 2 years now. Had not a single problem...
No problem, I'm happy that I'm in a position where I can provide honest reviews because people support the channel by using affiliate links :) I hope you'll find the host that's best for you!
Normally I never watch affiliate "reviews" but yours was excellent, it was fair, balanced, and you called out the bad, which every company has, so good for you. Still not sure I am willing to try cloudways lol.
Late to Cloudways and am still undecided. Currently have an old A2 Bronze Reseller package which is up for renewal next January. I am having trouble understanding what I will lose from a reseller package. I was wondering if you received a satisfactory answer to your question regarding the performance after adding another site?
@Emit.Reviews i plan to run about 30-40 SIMPLE personal websites (About maybe 5 or less pages per website for 30 to 40 different people). what cloudway plan do you recommend? im looking at cloudway digital ocean. but not sure if how much RAM and Core processor is correct. kindly share your idea. it will help me alot. I'm a new subscriber. Thank you
Hey man, since you're running a LOT of small websites, I would go with 8GB 4 core server and downgrade if it's too much. It'll run you around $80 a month.
I wrote to Cloudways, and they told me that.. you don't pay less than 10 $ us in Digital Ocean or VULTR with 11 $ us for what you consume, that is the minimum price and you consume all the resources or you did not, the pay is complete the 10 in digital ocean or 11 $us in VULTR
For managed services that are on the cheaper side I would take a look at Scala Hosting. And if you've got money to blow of course services like LiquidWeb or Digital Ocean offer one of the most powerful VPS services.
Great videos! Liked and subscribed. Your videos are super high quality even on my 55” 4K tv. I was wondering if you could share a picture of your ‘studio’ setup (like lighting placement, camera placement, audio setup, etc). Also, how do you get such a clean chroma key (green screen) background? I manage a YT channel for my work (including the filming/editing & we recently broke 1,100 subs), so any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!
Hey Matt, my studio setup is pretty embarrassing :D The only place I can avoid natural light and have a permanent setup is this "basement" type room with a bunch of boiler equipment in it :D It's really noisy and small. But the way I have it set up is I have a green screen standing on some boxes (I use the neweer portable one) and 2 soft boxes from the sides. The soft boxes are enough to provide equal lighting to both sides of the screen and act as a filler light for me. Then I have a LED light hung on some duct tape :D from the pipe on the ceiling that's acts as a key light for my face (I use the Yongnuo YN300 together with a Neewer scissor arm stand) these 3 lights are enough for me filming myself at "half body" height. The camera I have standing in front of me at an arms reach with some leaning forward (because I often do re-takes, so I want to have the option to stop filming and continue for easier editing later). The way I get a good chrome key is I do multiple ones. I first do a broad chroma and key out the easy parts and if there are any shadows or bright spots left over I do them on a separate chroma key masking out the original one so it's not affected. Congratulations on your achievement it took me 1 year to get 1k of working almost every day. And I found the the thing that "works the best" for me is simply writing better scripts than my competitors. I always try to do more research, explain something in a simpler way or find facts nobody showcased before. Nobody likes drawn out videos so I try to mix it up with some animations, me talking, screen records. I wasn't all that good at editing when I started but with constant work and trying out new stuff I think I'm getting better. I'm just trying to create stuff that I would watch myself.
Emit.Reviews Awesome, thanks for the info! It actually has taken us about a year to get to 1,000 subs. We’re a real estate team that helps people buy and sell smallish (5-50 unit) apartment buildings in the LA area, so the # of people who are really into that kind of content is fairly low (and on the older side, age wise). I’m trying to get my boss to do more live stuff as when we did a live webinar back in March, that’s when we had a huge # of people sign up. And for about the last 6 months, I’ve been really working on getting content out there on a regular basis. Thanks again!
Amazing video as always.... Should I go with vultr basic plan from cloudways Or Hostinger's basic cloud hosting plan? Is hostinger's cloud hosting starter plan really good? I mean in terms of speed, support, scalability, it's performance, traffic capacity and are the available resources great ?
I have a cloud hosting starter as well as cloud global with hostinger, its really good, I used their ssh and can install anything, its 100% managed hosting so its there, cron etc. One click install with different applications like Wordpress etc. The only thing I dont like about it is the loading of their cpanel, overall, is good.
Cloudways would provider better performance, I recommend grabbing the free trial and deciding if its something you like. Because its going to be much more expensive than Hostinger
@@digwillhachi Well yeah :D Hostinger offers cheap shared hosting plans, Cloudways gives you a virtual private server. It's like comparing a regular car with a sports car. If you've got the budget VPS, Cloud or Dedicated hosting will always outperform shared hosting.
