The most charming thing about this was the just the ability to fight along side the guardsman who reacted to the enemy and space marine, but also seemed to fight properly.

Also a reminder that 40k took inspiration from franchises like dune, elric by moorcock and star wars. Its not a bad thing fellas, just dont bad talk franchises for taking ideas from other places and making it their own
Actually of the things you mentioned 40k didn’t actually take that much from those sagas. 40k took a lot from history though. They are basically crusaders. They stole little things though, like Alien
@@DylanJo123No one is "bad talking" franchises for being inspired by 40k. This is just to correct the mistaken assumption some are making here, that 40k is inspired by Gears and not the reverse. And furthermore, 40k is not inspired by Star Wars, but rather Starship Troopers, just as Dune took inspiration from Foundation, etc.

As a Tyranids player, I feel that this is a really good representation of the faction in this game. I can't wait to play.
You'll be sick of Tyranids by the end of this. I really don't get why these games don't use all available races instead of like 3, would make it so much more interesting and representative of 40K
@@cassanateli Well, in the original Space Marine we thought it was only Orks, but Chaos made a surprise appearance about halfway through. We're likely going to see SOMETHING pop up the same way here.

They seem to have improved scaling this time. I hated how in the first game, the Guardsmen are almost a similar height.

We also need some chaos space marine game. Imagine running around as Iron Legion and destroying everything in complete silence and being highly effective at it.

@@glendjunuslodoli211 i would say Helldivers 2 emphasizes more what it would be to be an actual guardsman out in the fields than what Darktide is. Darktide you are more of a Hero-unit. while in helldivers, you are just a mere soldiers. although with the access of as much lethal firepower as a dark angel, but then again, that was how the human empire was before the dark times anyway.
I've never seen the infinite hordes of the Tyranid depicted so realistically! Those swarms flowing like a tidal wave over the terrain are absolutely horrifying.

@@primarchxi6639 Idk I really liked 40k: Inquisitor, Bolt Gun, Necromunda: Hired Gun, Gothic Armada 2, Space Hulk: Death Wing, and Honorable mention Darktide(since it got good recently). Those are more recent 40k games that are not turned based that I think are pretty good.

I mean they released a filling lore between sm1-sm2 and it looks like he's been rough. The change of his attitude is quite understandable haha.
Looks great! Sounds... not so great. I have issues with the standard bolter sounding a bit weak, but the worst offender is the chain sword. In some sequences you barely hear it.
That's definitely a concern, the weapons in the first game sounded much better.
Came here to post the same - especially the bolter. The sounds are way off and it doesn't have much effect on the smaller nids. Chunks should be blasted off them after a tiny delay

@@andrewgilroy2758 I agree, I expect the bolter to have a low firerate but really powerful, they say a bolter can oneshoot almost anything
The sound design in general has been my main concern with this game since they first showed it. Also some ugly distracting UI elements like the big blue circle for melee looks unpolished

amazing visuals, animations, atmosphere. lets hope they are also a beast on gameplay mechanics
I think the audio design could be a little better in places. Like in the first 1-2 minutes when the player drops down in that interior part on a metal platform, it didn't quite sound right. Otherwise super pumped - just think audio design is really important for immersion and the feeling of 'awesome' you want to get out of a game like this.

The thing I like the most about these games is conveying the realistic physics of someone with the size of the space marines wearing that big ass power Armor. The way it clinks and how the marine moves with it on. So cool.
I LOVED the first game. Played through it three times and would've gotten platinum had not a few trophies been bugged. This actually looks very promising.
I am so hyped for this game! Looks incredible... I hope we get some backstory on what happened to Titus after the first game, his time with the Black Templars (because of his Chain of Zeal), how it came to be that he crossed the Rubicon, etc.
I also haven't played PvP in a long time but I am looking forward to it, I really hope it will be excellent and that we can choose cosmetics from all the OG legions. Would love to have a badass Blood Angel on the loyalist side and a Thousand Son on the traitor side even if it's just cosmetics. Psykers would be cool though (not just the Sons, but librarians too) as long as they can keep it balanced.

I like how ‘heavy’ the marine seems when he’s walking but the feeling disappears as soon as he starts weightlessly sliding around in melee combat.

Also, I might be an outlier here. But why is it still the Cadian shocktroopers? Don’t get me wrong, Cadia Stands!
But it would be nice if they showed some different imperial guard regiments.
Because Cadia produced more guardsmen than any other place. First, they dont all come from the planet Cadia, they come from all over the Cadian Sector and get exported all over the galaxy. Second, they are so prolific because some planets that pay the tithe dont actually raise their own regiments, most will send their conscipts to the major guard regiment in the sector to be trained and to do indoc. The gear they use (Kantrael Pattern Lasgun and flak armor) are ubiquitous throughout the entire imperium.
Regiments are chosen to be reinforced by the high lords with recruits based on their needs.... no sector has more need than the Cadian sector.
AGREED. I'm so tired of these Space Marines running around without their helmets. It makes them feel so incomplete to me.
And right? Cadia and Ultramarines hogging up all the screentime.
Pessimism aside, the game looks like an absolute blast, and I'm sure modding in helmets and maybe other chapters like we could for the first game will eventually be available

I started with the nightlords trilogy books and went from there. It definitely is confusing at first but it'll grow on yah!

Eh it's pretty easy to follow overall. The titles of characters or ship designs is muddled at first but it wasn't nearly as hard as dune
If you want a full picture of the universe tho I would definitely give luetin09 and adeptus ridiculous a watch
Well the sound certainly needs work. I keep expecting their to be a delay on environmental explosion sounds and it turns out they're just absent entirely.

I love the look for the game, only thing I can have a gripe about is how hollow and light the walking sounds like (which is such a tiny (and subjective) problem). I just feel like they should have a deeper, more base-y sound to them. More like a hard thud (especially on metal). This sounded a little to light for my taste, doesn't really convince me that I play as a giant superhuman soldier able to crush skulls with a single hand and all that. But if that is the biggest problem in the game, the game is going to be awesome. I do feel like the walking and running sfx make such a massive difference in immersion and is one of those small things you can overlook but that is really a game changer if done correctly. But that is just my two cents.
(Btw, a `Helldivers 2 set in the Warhammer universe` type game would have me seriously pumped, please make one. Let us play both historical battles, aswell as maybe a campaign set in the current Warhammer-universe time)

I would love to see the 40k franchise in cinema. But that requires a certain dedication and love that has not been seen in cinema history since the original Lord of the rings movies back in the day.
The amazon budget for lord of the rings was massive but no love.
