Anyone else here gonna do their best to keep the guardsmen alive?
If there’s a Salamander skin yes.
No point.
@@james87367 ? So?
The emperor protects and so do I
Are we not the Emperor’s Angels? The Emperor Protects, does he not? By that decree, imma try my damn best to save the Guardsmen.
I really hope they push the massive battle over the linear corridor angle. Fighting next to the guard is one of the best parts of 40k.
Space Marine 1 being one gigantic linear corridor is why I passed on it. So I hope so too
Don't hold your breath.
@@leonaquilla2547 I prefer a well made corridor over a mediocre open world any time.
@@SxSxG666 Based, the only correct awnser.
You still had big battles with the guard at your side in the first game. They weren't as big as in this demo of course, but that game is over 10 years old
I hate when the main character doesn't wear a helmet in battle when he obviously should
Imagine if you could chose not to wear it and it affects your hp
this is just a problem with space marines in general in just about everything
Apparently.. There is a option for helmet... Apparently
Modders can do it
Funnily there exist iron halos in 40k lore. Which kind of work like force fields.
Honestly, I was pretty bummed out when they delayed this game BUT
Anything to make another Space Marine title the best, I am down for.
aways better than a half baked game like most w40k games.
imagine having to get a version for every platform while making sure it's all optimized. I wasn't too surprised, especially since this is going on last gen as well.
@@vextay7199Ergh they need to leave last gen behind already, it’s been long enough
@@wolvo5441 Last gen is still just the normal Xbox Ones and PS4s, and iirc this game is only coming to S/X, PS5, and PC
As much as I hate it, its necessary. Don't want it to end up like modern warfare 3 which was definitely too rushed and not ready for the launch
17:54 Imagine being that lone guardsman stuck in a wave of Nids and an angry Space Marine and surviving. Emperor protected him!
That pistol shot to interrupt/execute a downed target is so freaking cool
Idk, it seems like something you get tired of pretty quickly

@@BloodyElbow707 I judge what I see
I love how you are in an actual war. There bedlam happening everywhere and you are just another marine.
Probably not "just another marine"
Every astartes is a demigod among a sea of mere mortals. And you are a senior officer among the astartes.
One thing I noticed that they fixed from the last gameplay trailer. The guardsmen keep firing as the enemy get closer instead of standing their awkwardly. You love to see it
Honestly while the graphics look nice, the sound design is lacking. The marines dont feel weighty, their punches, kicks, the bolter and the melee weapons, even the grenades, all lack that visceral OOF that good sound quality brings to combat.
I hope they fix that.
yeah the sound is the one glaring issue for me. it sounds muzzled somehow, like it lacks a real punch to it. sort of mellowed out.
To be fair, sound design is usually something that sees the most change in the later stages of development. Especially for linear games like this, the sounds will very likely see lots of changes all the way up to the final months of development. So I wouldn't judge this WIP game footage too harshly just based off the sound design.
Animation itself is also lacking. It stayed on level of previous SM 1 witho orks. SM and nids movements aer just... off. It doesn't looks like real fight.
Also, just don't make that weight impact with animation. While SM is heavy in this armor - he is VERY fast, with good relfexes, accuracy and pretty agile.
Well, it is a demo, so they still have all that to fix before the full release
@dreademperor2094 Yeah, but it's being puked up by Sega who is only one nanometer better than EA.
Call of Duty is flawless perfection.
This is arcade on crack with a side order of burnt bacon.
Didn't Sega like die and go out of business or something?
Huh? Are they dead? Dead as a door nail? Like less than 0.00000000000000001% of the gaming market?
Didn't Nintendo or Micro$oft buy Sega?
And yet Sega is publishing this game,... from their own grave.
Weird! 🤣🙃🤪
I'm glad they delayed it, the game is there and it looks amazing, but its the little things that need to be ironed out before release.
sound fx are terrible
@@bilwit in shooters? That's constantly changing up until release.
the big fight at 4:21 looks so good; just seeing a giant wave of enemies rushing up to you but instead of going "oh shit" you say *perfect*
"Oh good, more health packs to use"
It’s an arena shooter, the background is just an animation
Can’t wait. I hope they add some of the large bugs too. It would be fun to fight a screamer killer or a Haruspex. Maybe even throw in a Norn emissary.
I would assume so footage is probably from the fist mission or so
I am sure they will have HUGE, even game breaking bugs on day 1. You will not be disappointed.
I wouldn’t be entirely surprised to see Neurotyrants and other brain bugs. With Thousand Sons showing up, it might mean we have a Psyker system showing up
Haruspex or norn emissary is Impossible enemy for the group of 3 marines, even as a boss.
Norn emissary would destroy even named, helmet-less ultramarines, probably don't expect that one to show up.
The WWZ feel to the horde of tyranids is amazing been waiting for a game to use the same massive enemy count.
To be fair, the guys who MADE the WWZ game are working on THIS game

I always love the way the astra militarum looks in the space marines games. Space marines are cool as an army of super soldiers though.
Imperial Guard. Always has been, always will be, don't fall for GWs nonsense.
@ashling3 i know. I just love the more gothic pronunciation. This makes me wish we had a sort of imperial guard + aliens colonial marines hybrid game only instead of colonial marines it'd be imperial guard and instead of xenomorphs it'd be the various xenos of the 40K galaxy.

Man this game keeps looking better and better, the way the mud sticks to the armor is really great attention to detail. The enemies should have the same effect too though, if they look bone dry and completely uniformed at all times... it takes away from the realism that you're fighting an actual horde of Tyranids. Tyranids are suppose to look like deadly crocodiles emerging from the depths of hell, covered head to toe in brutality
Me: "Blood for Emperor! Skulls for his Throne!"
Khorne: "SHUT UP!"
Looks like they didn't change a lot game play wise from the first. If you don't get yourself "hyped" on this game you'll have a nice, but linear action shooter with not a lot of dept. The first was solid because nothing like it existed at the time 40k wise. Fingers crossed the story is going to be good, because in my opinion that's the only thing that might warrant a second play through if the game turns out to be a copy of the first.
i just wanna get ta krumpin' in high fidelity
If it's like the first, I'll get it either way cause the first one is badass
@@gardevoir7137 Acceptable as first experience. But inaccurate visualisation of SM movement, slowy animation... Should've been fixed.
@@skywillfindyou SM 1 had an acceptable campaign that I only felt the need to play twice. The rest of my time was spent in multiplayer, so hopefully it's as good as the first.
You really like to complain on the highest level dont you? Several games are still hyped whilst basically beeing carbon copies of each other. Dark Souls..Bloodborne..Sekiro...and if we go away from Fighters, NFS, Fifa etc etc etc.
22:33 not sure if that shutter lag or quick pause there right before the chainsword hits is somehow intentional or not but it doesnt look good
Doesn't look intentional. This might be because of this guy's console specifically, I haven't seen it happen at all elsewhere.
never thought I would die side by side with a guards man...
How about side by side with a servant of the emperor?
Aye, that I can do...
I hope they make a survival mode where you can play different factions and change your load out ect. Like black templar with flamers ect
Or the Blood Angels who have to temper the black rage.
I'm concerned by the lack of enemy variety in this gameplay
I think you mainly see warriors and termagants in these bits of gameplay. I hope that they are keeping the more specialised units such as Genestealers, carnifex's a bit of a secret!
@@kram5861 I hope you're right but it seems like a bad call to only show 2 enemy types in your gameplay trailer and you think they would know better. Also I'd really think we would have at least seen some the basic ranged units.
Im concerned by the lack of gameplay in this gameplay. I sure love slowly waddling from enemy to enemy, firing bolters or mashing melee buttons, parrying warriors every so often, and using some weird mcree move on a single termagaunt for some reason.
BTW im playing an astares, the single most physically advanced supersoldier in popular fiction. Why do I look like im waddling like a penguin.
@@CorwinTheOneAndOnlyDid u... play the first game?
The Thousand Sons are going to be in this game so demons of Tzeench will likely create more variety
Less hud and polish. Sounds need improvement. I'd be happy if they delayed but released this properly so it can become a gem.
It's pushed back to September 9
id say it needs more hud. Put a helmet on them and show all the sensor readings a SM would have.
looks better now. i might even have to pre-order if the next couple of trailers push me over the edge.
Feels like the game is gonna be awesome. But still needs polishing. Like in 10:20 moment, when Leman just riding to the position without using it's bolter and then shoots at the empty place. Or the gargoyle swarms where ever they are. It's not a swarm of the enemy, it's just a harmless gif circling above you, like at 14:20. And guardsmen. Yeah. Mostly it's just a groups of mannequins, standing on the open ground, waiting to die... Which is also leads to another problem. At 23:14 you can notice a started killing animation, but except that guardsmen are just falling like a puppets without strings. More death animations. More horrible deaths and screams. Show how tyranids are terrifying.
Also, interesting moment. At 22:10 player enters the room, where we can see a pack of gaunts entering it from the other door, but while clearing it we can see that behind that door there is a group of guardsman calmly waiting for you to come closer to trigger begining of the event. Sure, that is still "a work in progress" and everything will be finished and polished etc... But feels like they need to hire more level/narrative desiners (don't know who is responsible for such moments).
I am PRAYING they add the ability to toggle a helmet for titus in the settings
Missed opportunity by the devs to create a total of 10 campaigns to play as a Ultramarine, Imperial guard, Ork warboss, Tau Farsight, Eldar Dark Reaper, Dark Eldar Haemonculi, Necron Lynchguard, a Tyranid Swarmlord and a Chaos Iron Warrior.
Hope they add other playable Chapters. “Into the fires of battle! Unto the forge of war!” 🔥 🐉
VULKAN LIVES! * *STOMP STOMP* *
They will for Multiplayer (if it even has an MP function). Space Marine is sort of about Titus and his story. The MP in the first game was stunning and fun and allowed for a lot of customization.
Don't think any game has delivered on a satisfying customization screen like SM1's. It gives you everything you could really want as a 40k fan and a little more.
@@grimtv3218 There is a multiplayer
Salamanders, Dark Angels, and Imperial Fists are confirmed for this game.
I like some of the World War Z zombie swarming stuff I'm seeing here (with the nids). Fits appropriately.
Quite fitting, since the dev team worked on World War Z
It looks great but the sound is like i got water stuck in my ears after diving and everything i hear is muffled
Those (I think) Tyranid Prime xenos with the double swords look tough as hell. They sponge damage like nothing is even hitting them.
Anyone else really looking forward to some Thunderhammer combat? I can’t wait for everything else but of all the possible weapons to use I really want to see that hammer in action
I’m worried, because this honestly looks too good to be true. I also like that they seem to have changed things so that his voice is less raspy. In the earlier trailers it felt forced, but now it comes off as much more natural.
It' s cool seeing the space marines towering over the guardsmen, i really hope robute gulliman makes an appearance or any primarch where we see the space marines kneeling and looking up! 😯🙏
Magnus will appear in some way
Who would love to see titus being involved in other 40k media like novels and og table top(not the one dedicated)?
Other than that the game is almost perfect,it only needs some details like the melee weapons in the specific points that are in the armors like the knife, chainsword and powersword being in a holster near the back in the case of the knife and in the other leg the swords, idk where stuff like thunder hammer and axe goes
It would be but with this games release he might get a short story or something but he's already got 2 full on video games so that's really alot more media coverage than just being in a book. Millions will play this game. Thousands would read the book
Rumour is amazon is making an anthology animation and the first episode features a young Titus.
looks awesome, needs nids vs marines multiplayer
there will be SM vs CSM 100% and Last Stand vs tyranids
It looks amazing! A little hard to follow the action at times, but that maybe because I'm watching and not playing.
The chainsword sounds like a mozzie buzzing past your ear rather than a 6 foot whirling blade of evisceration.....
I hope we’ll be able to fight more than just tyranids I really wanna fight the tau
i hope they change the color of the eye glow for the tyranids entering synapse to purple instead of red. i think it would fit better.
Definitely some polish. The Guard NPCs look heavy and can be seen sliding. Plus, no throw-arc for the grenade is weird.
The grenade arc makes sense but it's a Space Marine. He doesn't need to arc it he can throw a grenade like a football with the flick of his finger directly at what he's aiming at. In the Astartes animation that's how they throw their grenades. They'd hawk it from their hand directly at the enemy. One soldier used a grenade and another scene a flashback and they used the same form.
This is a video game, not the books lol@@maltheri9833
The game looks great, I just hope by the time the game comes out, that the game is polished and that swarms in the background are increased in size and that there are more enemies to fight, I also hope for the option to wear a helmet and that the weapons do more damage. Definitely looking forward to playing this game.
"swarms in the background are increased in size and that there are more enemies to fight" i was thinking that but this is a splinter fleet so i can accept swarms not blotting out the sun or the ground.
Sure, you say this now. Wait until it comes out and your hardware chugs to simulate it all and then you and everybody else complains about how poorly optimized it is.
It should be one-shot, one-kill against the gaunts and only need two or three shots to take out a warrior form. They have all the numbers they need to make up for that. Instead, each of the fights look like your being overrun and its something of a panic fighting. Not a Space Marine destroying his enemy. There are plenty of other kinds of Tyranids you can use as bolter sponges. 'Nids that die in one shot from a lasgun should _NOT_ be one of them.
I think a little more bass in that chainblade. Needs to sound angrier.
Would be nice if the speed of SM's will increase, or if they add some sprint mechanic, couse they are supposed to zoom around the battlefield right ? Almost jump from place to place.
Sure but that wouldn't be as fun as it sounds in a linear hack and slash game. Would mess with the pacing of encounters, theyd have to make the arenas waaay bigger to compensate
They're ultramarines not the white scars.
Still baffles me they can’t jump, like wtf?
Helmet on/off and we all good to some easy money dear devs
Dude, i recently managed to buy the original Warhammer40k Space Marine.......and it's a hell of a blast to kill Orks. But a Hive Swarm of Tyranids? Brother, how i have waited for this!!!!
Their ship/HQ being called Damocles is some delicious foreshadowing of the power-hungry threat of the later half of this game.
Why hes not using the helmet?
That's a good one. I'm hoping they'll allow you to wear it or at least introduce different armor variants. He should be wearing his helmet
Named character.
Who needs a helmet with plot armor
Ironically in 40k most important people don't wear helmets. The snipers of the dark future are just really good sports and don't pop the head of Abbadon The Despoiler from 30 miles away, even though they totally could!
Anyone else concerned there are no bosses? specially when there are many massive tyranids out there?
Um no It's a trailer. lol
I hope as an option we can play as different armor types from different legends for our whole squad
Killing Orks, Chaos Marines and Daemons in the first game was an absolute delight.
Killing Tyranids? Yes, please.
I can scarcely wait to see what else we'll be killing.
They have Plenty of time before they release it doesn't comes out until September or October so for the people that is crying everything will be fine
Let's hope you are right.
lets hope you are right. Because things that we may see as issues may not be issues in theyr eyes. we dont know how development is going either.
And considering how stupid fun the first one was despite a decent amount of issues (much like many games of that era), even if there's some problems, I'm sure it'll be a blast regardless.
When you are new to the gaming industry:
@@PoorManatee6197 I'm not I've been playing games since 87 thing always changed in the video game industry and the build that they are showing off could be a old build
Damn there better be a horde mode
Ironically the whole game is a horde mode from can be seen, it just takes place in different levels/environments
I hope they fix the AI for the Imperial Guarsmen, some of those idle animations in the middle of combat look silly as hell, and where are the bayonets?!
Aside from that, the gameplay for the marines looks polished as fuck, hyped to play
What happened to the track from 10:50 and from the end, why it was cut out and is not available on RUclips and how to find it! Question to the author!!!!
Need definitely time for polish..🤞
Gears of War vibes, 40K narrative has much deeper and expandable lore attached to it, still feels like Gears of War in 40K universe.
Eh, so did the first game, either way extremely excited so far, as this looks great
I love how they say everything they do, Reload, changing magazine, so cool.
The heavy bolt pistol should be doing more damage in my opinion. When you read of the astartes using them, it is capable of blowing holes through. It looks like the enemies are megarachnids and the common ones. They should be the easiest to kill. Especially for a captain or Lt. Chainsword also needs a damage boost. As well as the combat sword. These weapons always came across as the most powerful at times. 🤷🏽♂️
Love it. But the Astartes need to do more damage, 7 8 9 10 mass reactive rounds to down one xenos is absurd and anti lore. It would be better to up the numbers of enemies and make the bolter a realistic damage level.
The termagaunts are dying in one or two shots from what I'm seeing. Are you talking about the Tyranid warriors?
Tyranid warriors should feel tanky. They have almost as good an armour save as the SMs and get to reroll saves of 1, same toughness, and 3 wounds to the SMs 2 wounds.
Bolters are obviously supposed to feel mean and weighty, but they have 0 AP. Termagaunts turning to mist but TW shrugging a few shots before they engage you in melee is pretty well 100% accurate.
That's exactly what I was thinking. And too much shit flashing up when you take damage. That shit fixing to be a constant pain when you have multiple enemies
Many tyranids can take 10 or more shots from bolter
I miss the Orks. Tyrannids are cool and all, but the Orks gave a comedic effect to a game that needed it.
No
"a comedic effect to a game that needed it" i dont think the game needs it persay. What it needs is to be done well. If its depressing grimdark gore all the way trough and done well then im all for it.
@@firmak2 Oh I didn't mean that it needed it as if it seemed like it should have been a comedy game. But the game itself was kind of a bland Gears-like with no real personality aside from the fact it was in the Warhammer 40k universe. The Ork dialogue kept it lively.
@@firmak2 You are the kind of 40k fan that is ruining 40k while OP is the kind of 40k fan that remembers how fun it used to be. Also it's not "persay". Why do people insist on using phrases that they can't even spell to try to make themselves sound smarter? It's per se.
@@SaveMeXenu "that is ruining 40k" says the guy seemingly gatekeeping what 40k is while all im asking for is a good game. 40k has great books that are comedic (Cain and Infinite vs divin) and there are ones with very little levity ( Yarric, ahriman and shroud of night)
I wanna play as a guardsman with a party of 20-30 players fighting against the horde
22:52 Are you sure this is Ultramarines throwing grenades into the Guardsmans? Night Lords maybe?
the nighlords would skin the guardsmen in the barraks and wait out the siege.
Hopefully this include a helmet and good modsupport again.
User interface doesn't look good. I'm having trouble seeing what's what on the screen. The Tyranids are of a similar dark hue as the ground and the light refracting from the mud makes everything look the same. Also, the yellow grid appearing over large parts of the screen obscure my view and it bothers me.
Yeah, we can see more than 10% of the screen. Definitely too much. We need flashing mission objectives, a compass telling us where to go, markers in the game world, a minimap, a quick link to the in-game microtransactions store, there needs to be some constant quipping from your companions that covers up a portion of the screen with subtitles AT ALL times.
Honestly, the minimalistic UI was about the only thing that I thought looked like an upgrade over the previous game.
dont forget the notification for our daily rewards as well as an advert for premium cosmetics and of course a world wide chat in the bottom corner@@SaveMeXenu
Really happy they give screentime and some fleshing out to the Guardsmen. I think everyone gets carried away with the Space Marines but the Guardsmen actually do most of the fighting/defending in general throughout the WH40K universe.
They are missing so much that would bring the game to another level like when he grabs the chain sword have him start it alittle and actually put it on his hip and show it these small things bring a game more life
Unless they are damaged or lost in battle Astartes DO NOT (edit: shouldn't?) fight without their helmets on. Cmon Devs! EDIT: To stop any other people to lose their shit here and accuse me of heresy, yes I am wrong. I shouldn't have said they never fight without helmets, that is obviously incorrect. What I should have explained is, in a lot of media, especially games, they hardly have the main characters wear helmets, especially when they probably would, so people can recognize the main protagonists. Take Titus and his in atmo jump in the opening of Space Marine 1. Tons of flak and anti air all around him and he hops out helmetless so the player knows who it is, and of course how bad ass he is. Its silly sometimes is all but I understand. I apologize for making an incorrect statement about 40K and will seek the Emporer's absolution if that is even possible.
Especially against Tyranids who can take their heads off or split their unprotected skulls with one blow.
I guess you didn't play any of the Dawn of War games or the first Space Marine. Main chars always abide by the rule of cool. I do wish they had helmets though, they look badass.

I also know why they hardly wear them in games or on novel covers etc. since they want the individuals more recognizable.
I hope in the future they add a dlc to play different marine factions
Youre whats wrong with gaming. You want to pay money for your armor to be a different color? I guess I need to read up on Titus. I’m assuming he was hanging with black templars for a while or something…? I’m asking because he has the weapons chained to his arm, which is a BT thing. Maybe he liked their style and decided to adopt it?
At the end of the first game Titus was taken in by the Inquisition by supsicion of heresy because he can touch raw Warp Energy without being corrupted.
The Symbol that hangs of the chain on his arm is that of the Inqusition, so this is probably due to penance.
I'm actually pretty happy they didn't make the guard out to be weaklings. Yes it sucks being a guardsman but have you EVER tried fighting AGAINST the guard? Fucking. Nightmare.

One of my biggest hopes for this game is that we get to drop a Carnifex. And if we get to drop a Carnifex I want it to be Old One Eye. AFAIK Old One Eye is still alive after many "deaths" and I kinda want Titus to be the one who kills it for good.
What is that walking animation for the guard
Amazing to see the Astartes beside a regular human hahaha
I can't wait to get this, it'll be my first Warhammer game.
Welcome, brother
Is it just the Ultras, or can you play all the different factions too?
How do you get access to the demo?
Wouldn't it be nice to get a Helldivers version of 40k
It'd be cool if there was a defense or survival mode where you could buy defenses and soilders
Is the game like a straightforward campaign mode only (like GOW, outriders, etc...) or has the freedom to roam around maps?
Also, will it have pvp or is just a myth?
been waiting over a decade for this game mainly due to the cliffhanger ending of the first space marine with the cliffhanger being the fate of captain titus
I like they sized the marines properly, you hear about marines shoulder checking through barricades and even taking out small vehicles but they always just look like a slightly taller basketball players, these I can see as giants piloting tank armour.
Now I hope they get the swarms down right, not hey its a wave of 10-20 but, I might legitimately not have enough ammo to kill half of them.
How I mean is you will be part of the battle not godman's the only one able to fight, I'd love to see cadian's and marines going ham on a swarm, too many games make you the only hope while the people around you do zero damage to a point of they are just a meme.
Doesn't look like it though.
Ya, Titus roid up cuz he crossed the Rubicon to become a Primaris.
Normal or the Old Ones was around 2.30Meters
Do we know if there’s a multiplayer mode or skirmish ?
Really wish there was game about slamanders or ravenguard like this
A hormagaunt can be produced in a week. How many artillery shells, bolt shells, lasguns, and tanks do you think the Imperium can produce in that time?
Yeah, the Tyranids are _not_ the real threat. The Space Skaven-I mean "Imperium" is waaaay beyond them at their own game.
