THANK GOD THEY STILL HAVE THIS
Still here as of the day I’m writing this. I do t think they will take it down until it dies. In fact, they may just leave it up after it does die.
Its
@MasenMonsternah I think they should take it down when it dies so they can get it refurbed and put back in service
I love the 500 DH-TT because of how it’s constantly rotating between an 8 port side and a 12 port side. Creates a beautiful harmonizing sound. Probably the best sounding outdoor warning siren ever made IMO.
It does exactly the same sound the ACA Cyclone and ACA P50 does
@@notanuser-sorry the motor has a different horsepower rating. It doesn’t
the 12 port side is like an sth-10 (or half of a 2t22) and the 8 port side sounds like an aca banshee
Truly the best siren video I’ve ever seen, not to mention one of a rare beast! Keep it up!!
Hello
@SirenTube if you ask in the whole us, there is 3 in nevada
@SirenTube There is 5 I think in Nevada. They are active, but they aren’t tested.
there’s an inactive 550-DHTT down the road from my house
the sound, the looks, and the vibe it's giving and the sun it's a cure for my depression
Yes! Finally someone got a good recording of it! This is hands down the best video ever!
Easily the best siren video on RUclips! I cant wait for other videos to come from you if they're gonna be this good!
Finally! A professional recording of this beast! Amazing Video!
Lol ur here too...? 😀
Beautiful video! One of the best I’ve ever seen!
This has to be the best 500DH-TT vid I've ever seen, hands down
Amazing capture, DaSamNudge!
@KalbPlanes (I know xD)
@KalbPlanes i think he means the best out of the dozens of videos of it 🙄
@Dixie Sirens where's the other one in Colorado?
@Dixie Sirens last time it went off was 2004 or 5
@Dixie Sirens it's a major downgrade too
great video. Loved the quality in full HD and even the sound quality. You could here the control box clicking when the siren activates.
Ain't nothing quiet about a NEMA size 2 or 3 DOL motor starter slamming in. This puppy sits on a 70 amp 240v 3 phase hi-leg delta circuit. That's why it's got such a fast pick-up when the power applies.
Awesome nice recording of this beast!
Best siren video hands down. Earned a like and a sub
Pretty much an early ACA P-50. I hope that they still have it today, as it is a VERY rare siren
Thier gonna keep it
I live in Colorado So I will try to some day record this sounding!
Eau Claire, WI had three of these. But all replaced in 2000, but best damn siren video I have ever seen!
Sam, I have got to say. THIS IS the BEST siren recording on YT! Great work!
No
@@notanuser-sorry Yes
Great video! Glad to see a nice, HD video of this rare siren!
BEST VIDEO OF THIS YET
I ACTUALLY LIKE THIS SIREN
SAME
I'm glad someone was able to get out there for this year's test. Great video!
There are probably less than 25 of this model of siren left in the United States still in use today. This design of a rotating siren is rarely seen nowadays. This one looks like each side has a 90° beam of sound, being very efficient at doing its job. Sounds like a P-50, but with a faster start up.
I think there are less than 10. I know of like 3 in new york, there's 4 or 5 in nevada, and then there's this one, the only active one.
@@Sipex6484I think Sugar City 's DHTT is active
The three users who disliked this video, I wonder what was going through their minds. I mean what did they think they were going to see? Otherwise, excellent video and could not have done it better myself.
they’re prolly salty about my production value 😂 going back next May with my Mavic 2 Pro for sure
@@DaSamNudge If this siren was to be replaced, would you be able to to obtain this?
Siren1000T 🤷🏻♂️ I don’t think they’re replacing it anytime soon though
Siren1000T probably because of the ads
wow so that 550AT is still running, awesome.
ԱӍβЯƐ not a 550AT it’s a 500DH-TT
That is what it used to be called .
Amazing video! They way the sun shines on it, and with the dark sky on the lower camera. Bravo 👏👏👏
Attack signal ( Fire ) at 0:11
Alert signal at 4:42
During test -
Wind downs at 1:11 , 2:41 , 4:11 and 7:41
Windups at 0:11 , 1:41 and 3:11
Fire signal is a short 15 second version of attack signal constantly going on and off, it didn’t do that at 11 seconds in the video so it’s just attack. Just so there’s no confusion for anyone.
Oh.. My.. God.. hands down best video ever.
This is the best siren video I've seen yet! Keep up the good work!
(Btw It scared the crap out of me when wound up again)
Nice video and great work!
Best tornado siren ever
Stunning.
This is the best siren ever thank god for them keeping this bad boy
YAY ITS STILL HERE!!!!!!
Wow! Nicely done!
wow, what a veryy rare siren
Man! That thing is AWSOM!
Thank you for a close up view of it and the chopper.
I watch Your videos all the time!!!!!!!!!
that first part sounded like the Tunisia eas alarm
I love your videos
That's good sounds great video
Sounds like an alertor 125 and
ACA P 50
What a legendary siren! 👍🏻
Thank you!!!
I can see it needs a paint job in 360p.
I know almost everyone is saying this but this has got to be the best siren video on RUclips!
I found one of these in the tiny town of Lockwood, Nevada, just east of Reno. I don’t know whether it’s still in use.
Caught in 4K, too!
Best p-50 sounding
Sounds exactly like a P-50.
I hear it too
Dame port ratio 8/12😊
Or a high pitched banshee or thunderbram
One of the most professional siren videos on youtube!
the adds trigger me slightly, other then that its fine!
Best video of this kond of sire. I could fonf
Pepole think I'm weird for liking tornado sirens
Wow the ambience must be cool, since each side has a different tone for every rotation.
There’s 2 of those inactive in New York
So this is where the director of Hunter Killer got that siren from👀
It's build like a WW2 siren with horns.
@Emmett the clock collector. it's mid 50s
you know most siren enthusiasts used to call this siren a 550T or 550AT
theres to of those in new york inactive they could be refurbished and used in rural areas in tennessee or the plains of tornado alley
that would be HOR's cousin: 550AT
That is an awesome siren. We can use more of them sirens around. Should defeat Welen sirens.
Whelens are still good. But i dont think they hold up to these.
@@United_HVAC_and_Fans I agree. But that was a good attention getter by the way one side was high pitch and other side was medium pitch.
"This is why I have trust issues"
That’s sounds like a soundmaster
I assume this is the first ever siren in 8/12 port?
We can use some warning sirens in Lenoir City TN and through out Loudon County TN and all over Knox County and Knoxville TN.
Knox city still has a few, burn they are decommissioned t bolts and model 5's.
@@easttennesseelightsandsire8152 Loudon County need them.
@@easttennesseelightsandsire8152 They shouldn't have decommissioned them. because never know when they might need them incase there is a tornado or chemical spill.
Hey, do you know when Calhan tests? I live in Oklahoma might take a trip there.
Can we have the behind the scenes?
Amazing
This is the only one standing!!1
I think they're using the fire signal that's why it's turning on and off
Hey ! Im with "Tech 360 Dallas" and we are working on a comp video of tornado sirens and would like to add this one to our comp along with many other from all across youtube!
if you give me credit and don’t monetize then yeah go ahead
Sounds like a ACA P 50
Now was this originally green or is that the primer under the yellow?
I didn't know you liked sirens too.
When does Calhan test? I’ve got to come here...
first Friday in May. times seem to be different every year but that year it was at 7:00PM
@@DaSamNudge Thank you so much
Damn son where'd find this?
Yeah
Is this thing still alive?
Jeez that thing 8/12 port... so rare (i think)
An 8/12 federal siren?
Where are the locations
Sounds like aca p-50😃
Next year... for sure
5 years later... still haven't gone to see it. Rip.
Sounds like a P 50
spinny saucer boi
that would scare me if i was a puppy
ngl
it has a scary confusing shape
what port is it
Does one tone play out of each side? That seems like an ineffective way of making a dual tone siren (at a distance)
One side is 8 port, and the other is 12 port. And, you're right. It's kinda ineffective.
Beautiful to still hear this old gal sound
W siren, almost sounds like a p50
love the 60 fps
Amazing work? Why did they have that weird testing cycle? 1 minute of alert 3 times or something?
Attack from older videos is their tornado warning signal. Alert is all clear.
I think that’s how Calhan’s warning protocol works, it’s not exactly the attack signal but I know that they use a 3 minute alert tone for all clear.
3 one minute blasts with 30 seconds between blasts for take cover and a 3 minute blast for all clear.
7:41 siren whats
im sure thats the last one that still stands
There's a few other confirmed locations of these, one is at a fire station in Nevada.
@@Snowcube wich fire station? i have a friend that lives in hawethorne and they have an stl 10 and model 2 and whelen 2016
There are 2 inactive ones in Yonkers, NY.
Why does it sound like a p50
Both use the same port ratio, witch is 8/12
They still haven't gotten something newer and more reliable? They need something new and louder. Still surprised it's still around.
it’s plenty loud, and obviously reliable, it’s definitely way louder than Lakewood’s Whelen system
Wasn’t this louder than the Thunderbolt, but over advertising for the Thunderbolt caused it to outsell this?
DaSamNudge I’m sure it is, but I’m concerned it won’t last much longer. It can’t go on forever.
TheJakeman789 Idk if y’all knew this or not, but she’s got a 3 phase motor. 3 phase Federal sirens never die unless something catastrophic happens to the motors such as a lightning strike
a 2001 will never last as long as this beast
Sounds kind of like a mellow Sterling ... with ears.
Sounds like a P-50
What's the port ratio of this beast?
8/12 port
Which camera did you use for your main shot
Canon EOS C200 Cinema with a 100-300mm lens
Little paint job and she’d be as good as new
Kinda sounds like an ACA P-50 in my opinion
maybe because it has the same port ratio dumbass
is this the only 550 left in the US
There's a few other 500 dhtts
@@minnesconsinsirens6803 yea but this one is the only ACTIVE 500-DHTT in the US. The other ones sadly aren’t active
@@SirensAndAlarmsOfNorthernIL i heard that another is activate just not tested. This was around a year ago so I'm not sure of its current status.
Where is this?
Sounds just like the SD-10
