Just remember, the right person to be with will treat you with absolute respect and kindness. If they have trouble with this, and they love you, then they will be willing to go to counselling and learn the appropriate skills for a healthy relationship. You deserve so much more than that type of experience.

Aw girl I’m glad you are out that situation, I see your hurt and I feel your pain. It took me 5 years to be able to leave a narcissist. I have a daughter with him so I still see him but now I’m able to realize that he never loved me. All I wanted was for him to love me but for some reason he hated me. Yes girl, dont stop putting yourself first. But be careful we all say we'll put ourselves first but we bring new people into our lives and its the same thing over again. When you see a red flag of the last person with the new person take that as a sign and just leave.

I went through the same, i was 14 when i got into my first relationship with an 18 year old. I was a child and he was the first guy to show me “love & attention” so i fell in love. we dated up until i was 17, but throughout the whole relationship he was cheating on me, controlling what i wear and makeup, he was so toxic i couldn’t have friends or hangout with anyone else. he would pick me up from school and work. one time we were at the store checking out and the cashier told him “so we’re still hanging out friday right” and that instant i couldn’t stop crying on the way home, i even thought about jumping out of his truck. he was mentally draining me. we were always on and off and he convinced me that i was the problem. he was so jealous because i was still in high school and making friends and other guys would try to talk to me so he’d tell me i was ugly and no one else would want me. i tried breaking up with him so many times but he’d threaten to kill himself, and he’d always show up at my house. it got so toxic that i was scared he was going to start getting physical with me. my senior year of high school i realized that i wasted all of my teenage years on a grown man who basically GROOMED me, that’s when i got the courage to finally call it quits. i broke up with him and he would pull up to my school during lunch to look for me, so i’d hide in classrooms because i feared him. every concert/errands/outing id go to he’d be there and he’d pay attention who i was with and when i would leave. he even would come over to eat with my parents (they liked him but didn’t know everything i went through) and play soccer with my family just to see me. he stalks me still at 19, if you’re going through this just know its easier to end it now than later. love yourself so much that you know how a man should be treating you, standards so high that you won’t put up with all the bs and red flags.

Literally for your happiness health and mental health It's better to get away from toxic people. Toxic people drain your energy. Sometimes best solution is to walk away from toxic situations for your health and happiness for your self respect
