Who still listening to Jim Croce 2024 love this guy amazing singer ❤
What a dumb question
I am 😊
Aquí en Montevideo Uruguay, escuchando a este gran cantante americano (desde la década de los '70s) .....y con un poco de suerte, hasta el año 3024.😊
🎼🎵🎶🇺🇾❤🇺🇸🎶🌎🎶🌍🎶🌏🎶♾️
(Mie.01.May.2024)
I do. Left way too early.
Geoff doing a cover of this shortly, and got me interested in seeing what the original was like. This is seriously a cool song.
how is this not viewed and loved by millions ?
It is. But not on this channel, not this generation.
I agree, I listen almost everyday, especially when cleaning up the house and exercising. I love how effortlessly Jim sang seems he opened his mouth and out came such a pure smooth and distinctive voice ❤
Unfortunately, you have to be of a certain age. Unless it hits a movie soundtrack. I love the song.

People are dumb
No auto tune here, just a great voice.
What a performance, Jim looks like he's having a blast. Completely effortless. What a great sound from only two guitars.
I feel so grateful that these videos of Croce's performances exist. He died a year before I was born and l remember his music on the radio in my mom's VW beetle when I was a little kid. Being able to see him perform all these years later is awesome. His live stuff is better than his studio recordings which is absolutely rare among any generation of musicians.
I was born in 74 also, and I love this man's music. If you can listen to Croce and say you don't like his music, you don't know what good music is. Just for clarification, I know how social media can be, that was just a statement not directed at you.
RIP Jim Croce (January 10, 1943 - September 20, 1973), aged 30
And
RIP Maury Muehleisen (January 14, 1949 - September 20, 1973), aged 24
You both will be remembered as legends.
Wow, 24; no doubt forever young, Jim too!
50 years ago today.
A bit strange how young men looked so much older for their age back then, maybe they matured faster based on taking on adult responsibilities so soon? Just a thought.
@@rickstalentedtongue910 Exactly. I watch the 60s show Wagon Train all the time. The second wagon master, John McIntire was in his 50s, but looked 75, and one of his employees on the train, was named Terry Wilson (Bill Hawks). I always thought he was between 55-60 on the show, and was absolutely STUNNED to find out he was only 28 in the particular episode I was watching! I think the fact that a lot of people were heavy smokers back then, and the lack of knowledge about the importance of sunscreen, is why.
@@reneep9972 Jan Michael Vincent and Mac Davis are examples of men who looked like they were lived in.
Jim and Maury were 2 of the finest songsmiths of the 20th century. All of their songs evoke great memories of childhood for me.
Completely agree.
Now I’ll go back on RUclips to find another song of theirs I hope.
We lost so much.
You could never be more right than you have with that statement Natalie was Jim Croce one of the greatest songwriters I have ever heard but his guitar skills we're amazing and Maury playing lead guitar on top of what Jim did is just perfect and that's the only way I can describe that what a great voice what a great writer what a great guitar player and an unbelievably beautiful human being I could only imagine if he had the opportunity to be with us on this planet for a longer time to give us more joy of his music rest in peace Jim Croce one of the greatest of all times
@@jessovenden a😅
He is absolutely in his element here, enjoying every second. Him and Maury are just the ultimate duo man.
Jim Croce was da man back in the day. Mr. Croce was another extremely talented entertainer that left this old world much much too soon
Croce was a masterful story teller! 😊
What a time... Jim Croce and Arlo Guthrie. Two of the BEST musical storytellers
How can you not. A true LEGEND whose life ended way to soon.
How the late, great Croce is still not in the Rock 'n Roll HOF is a crime. Do not mess around w/ Jim:)
Can you imagine if he would have lived the music
Round of applause for the late great Maury Muehleisen, rocking the actual hell out of that lead guitar. And of course the one and only Jim Croce, telling stories like only he could. Fantastic!
he genuinely seemed to enjoy this song so much.
Oct. 2024. Enjoying the heck out of these two magnificent musicians.
You can see in his face that he was extremely confident and knew he was as cool as the other side of the pillow!
*_Rest In Peace Jim & Maury_*
*_Job Well Done, Guys_*
Born in 70 and my parents jammed. Dad (the Alabama wild man) brought country into it and mom brought like jim croce
Dude in the background absolutely shreds!
Who’s listening to this in 3024?? 🤖👾
Now that’s real music right there.
That's good playing, good writing, and great talent. Top notch entertainment.
He's got a moustache as good as his music, and I've learned how to sing and play guitar simultaneously for the first time with his "time in a bottle"
Good one🤪
Bad ass
A good???
@@randylucas7510 oops, lemme change that
Two monster talents. RIP! ❤
My five sister, Mother in law, My Mom cried for 5 day after he passed away
Great song. Listening to it in 2023.
this song is pure genius
Jim Croce is super important for us kids from the 60s. He's one of the every song was good, type of composers singers. I think that my favorite is, "Time In A Bottle".
Maury was the composer. He was the music.
Jim you have been gone 51 years this month seems like much longer than that. You were a one and only and I miss you. Can only imagine what Heaven sounds like.
I love Jim Croce, he was one of the best storytellers and musical poet that ever existed. He had a voice that would just reach out and touch you. Your music is heart felt and beautiful. You are legendary and you are truly amazing.
Lost too soon ,the great Jim Croce from Upper Darby, PA. Still love your music!
His voice was so good!
Big Jim - 5999 /326. RIP.
He was a treasure. ❤
Yes, this was a snapshot in time.
I grew up with his music on 8 track, was good then and still good now.
Jim died when I was 3, but his music was part of the soundtrack of my childhood. My parents always surrounded me with some of the greatest music ever made, Jim's among these. I thank him (and musical collaborator Maury) for the musical brilliance and timeless works that I enjoy to this very day. I can only hope that these two are looking down and smiling at the world... still listening over 50 years later!
I remember when he came to our school. He was a very approachable and good to all us kids

I first heard him at my brothers home in August 1973, and two weeks afterward he died in an airplane crash. Talk about a let down for an incredible songwriter.😢
I use to say you don't tug on Jim's cape because he was such a great talent.I don't think he had a bad song.
I love all of them! Love You Jim.Really Miss You!
Thanks for posting this!
Absolutely
Music at its best
Still makes me smile! We miss story writing songwriters today! Most is crap!
I feel my childhood when I hear this song.💙💙
Absolutely brilliant. The best!
I have this DVD. I've watched it so many times and never get tired of it.
I had a service tech come to my house a few years back, and I was playing JC, he smiles and says "This is like the 5th house I've been to today, and everybody has been palying Jim Croce songs!"
he was coming up like the greatest ever this is such an unique song
Frank Zappa and JC have the best muschstaches in rock history!
Don’t forget Phil Lynott of Thin Lizzie, the dude had a rocking ‘stache!
What about Chuck Negron of Three Dog Night? 🤔
Croce. A true badass.
Beautiful
What a great song by Jim Croce !!!

There are many good songs. I also have the CD, and I'm so happy to be able to listen to it like this.
Great memories of our time
How do you even come up with a song like that and one of the epic mustaches of all time along with Freddie Mercury and Sam Elliot
Thank you
I remember hearing this song and enjoying it after discovering Croce through Time In A Bottle while in the Navy. Finally bought one of his albums, but decades later it got misplaced. So glad I can still hear his music via RUclips!
Jim is awesome, and it’s not only my generation and I, my kids love him too ❤
Okay.... ye... okay, great vibes.

Funny you say that. Lotta Big Jim's "More dumb than a man can come, but stronger than a corn husk" walkin' around Home Depot!
Great song❤Great artist
You absolutely got that right Lisa the funny thing is when I first saw your comment I thought it was Lucinda Williams LOL another one of my favorite song writers and musicians
Croce is deff America's story-teller. On a side note, I keep watching these vids, thanks to the poster AND shout out to Jim's partner who should have his own spot-light. Who is the guy backin Jim up so seamlessly????????
It's Maury Muehleisen.
@@arthurbrotzmeier3579 Thanks Man.
Maury was only 24 when he died. Jim was 30.
Rip 🙏 great song 🎵
The original FAFO song.
Love love this song. And this live performance sounds just like the actual recording. Amazing
He died too young loved his music rip
50 years ago tonight, Jim Croce, along with his longtime guitarist and studio partner Maury Muehleisen (shown with him here in the video) would play a ten song set at the Prather Coliseum at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana.
An hour after the concert, they and four others would board a small Beechcraft plane at the Natchitoches airport bound for Sherman, Texas. It would barely clear the runway before clipping a pecan tree and crashing, killing all on board. Jim was 30 years old. Maury was 24.
Days after the accident, Jim’s wife Ingrid would receive a letter in the mail from him, talking about feeling tired of the grind of the road, contemplating quitting the music business and wanting to head home to be with her and son A.J and be a family man. In it, he concluded,
_“Give a kiss to my little man and tell him Daddy loves him. Remember, it’s the first sixty years that count and I’ve got 30 to go.”_
We’ll obviously never know what might have been, but in a short time Jim created a musical legacy that is still cherished to this day.
Keeping resting peacefully Jim and Maury and take pride in knowing humanity is still loving your music a half century after you parted this world.
2024 And yes, still loving the music. Maybe “Operator” is my favorite, or maybe they all are . RIP, guys. We miss you. Thanks for all the splendid music you two left us.

This guy is a legend!
Favourite artist ever
Rest in Peace Jim & Maury
The term genius seems understated.
I grew up to that voice but I never knew the face and then when I finally seen the face it to the age of 55 I have to say this it's a surprising big nose for the sound of that voice
I love this dude!

Before my time but it still jams in in 2024
