KSP: Planetary Colonisation in ONE Launch!

  • With all the hype around Kerbal Space Program 2's colony systems, I decided to have a crack at a Duna base in KSP 1! The twist? This base features a fully-fledged orbiting Space Station, orbital relay network, surface base, crewed rover, and deployed science farm! What's more, the surface and orbital stations are self-assembling, using pistons and hinges to unfold into their final forms! I hope you all enjoy!

🤣🤣🤣🤣 It is SOOOO kerbal that the mission plan involves "During the atmospheric descent to Duna's surface, perform an engineering EVA to finish struting the base together." And that was part of the plan!
It thrills me to no end that people at NASA play this game. But I do worry it might give them some crazy ideas for missions.
"Yeah, so as you're descending to the martian surface, you'll need to climb out and you'll have a few minutes to drill support arms onto the structure.... no we haven't put any guides or markers for you, just wherever you fell they're needed.... no we don't have a safety harness, just hold onto the ladder. here I am, firing up KSP again after abandoning it in very early stages. The most exciting thing I did was building a normal space station around Kerbal and getting back from the Mun...
    And now I see this...
I'm basically done with the game already because I will most definitely never come up with something like that :D
I even forgot how the docking stuff I did back than worked :P
    Really amazing rocket and trip.

I’m not a ksp pro so I’m not sure if this would work but what about making multiple surface bases that make fuel for orbiting stations that will fuel a very small ssto that using the constant refuels will go very far

I have a racing mind, and these are very calming for me, I wish our planet had an accelerated the space program I don't want to be 110 by the time everything starts happening
