Yes, confidence is the byproduct of knowing something well. The more you know yourself the more confident you will become. The more you know your values and you align your behavior to your values, the greater and more stable your self-esteem will be. I specialize in helping people transform into the person they want to become using NLP.
Thank you for the video! If I have a strong vision, do I need goals at all? I’ve always find if hard to set meaningfull goals. I know where I want to go and I see it in front of me and that vision gives me motivation to take action. Would I benefit if I could set some specific goals, too..?
No you don't necessarily need goals. You can live a fulfilled life with lots of success without ever setting a goal. However, goals can be helpful for something like saving a certain amount of money every year or losing a certain amount of weight. Having a measurable target, as long as it aligns to your values and vision, is helpful.
Hi Damon, I've been experimenting with something similar but different, and I'd like your thoughts on it. For some time I've been trying to be more playful in interpersonal contexts (less stern and serious). I noticed that I have a have a visual/kinesthetic representation of what it means to be witty and funny, which is a kind of bouncy orange shape. I find this representation is easier to call up *in the moment* to cue me into that state of mind, rather than a string of words or affirmation which feels more unwieldy. I guess you could say it's the same strategy you describe here, but on a more micro level. I'm fascinated by the different strengths/weaknesses of words vs other modes of representation.
Representations that are 3 dimensional with color, shape, and kinesthetic touch and proprioception are typically going to be more powerful than words. Words are representations of representations in your mind. Instead of passing through words, you can go straight to the representation, which it sounds like you're doing.

@@DamonCart "representations of representations" is so beautifully put. When you put it in those terms it makes perfect sense!
