I can sing this, however tears swell in my eyes towards in the end. A powerful incredible piece of music . If I died tomorrow I'd want this song to sing me out X
WHAT a treat to find Hayley Westenra and Mike Oldfield peforming together! Does it get any better?!?!?!? Too short, but nevertheless... this is bliss...
Though it doesn't seem possible, Hayley keeps getting better. I can't think of anyone performing today who can match her in this kind of haunting, mysterious vocal. She must be the most under-utilized mega talent in the music industry.
I'm ganna play this song at my wedding, or funeral! it made me cry cos my mum tld me that she imagined me singing this. it made me cry so mych and i was just like, .....mum, can i have a tissue lol!
As you so rightly write "INTOXICATING" Yet I must go one step further & add that I believe Mike's inspiration that he now calls his muse is a heavenly being a Muse from a sphere beyond our material plain from the other side the pure En3rgy state from which we/all came & must 1 day return to, This is the cycle the spiral on which we travel from Energy into mass & back again for we are all children of the sun & for us there is in life a race that we are here to run. 5 miles out from the finish?.
God damn that is gorgeous!!!! I am disappointed that the sheep in my country (usa) are cloth eared nincompoops!!!! They can only recognise and appreciate plastic money machine music. And thats just music. Lets not attempt to discuss how the world works or who made the sun!!! Aslan help me, I'm surrounded by dufflepuds..... THANKYOU MIKE for giving us such beautiful music and peace of mind!!!!!
On my heart The nights are drawing in Above, the stars are spiralling And Heaven, Earth are roaming in a spin Memories of light and laughter Hope and peace from far here after Oh in heaven, wings of angels from a dream On my heart The nights are drawing in Above, the stars are spiralling And Heaven, Earth are roaming in a spin
sugarpuffsandwich; if you like this then of all the Oldfield albums you might get on with 'Hergest Ridge', 'Ommadawn' and perhaps his previously most orchestral piece; 'Incantations'.
Don't forget Ommadawn (maybe his best work), Hergest Ridge(hearing 90 guitars at the same time is intersting), Incantations, and by many loved and many cursed Amarok (probably the most unique album ever).
Just stumbled across your response... I personally loved Crises, QE2, Discovery, Earth Moving and Platinum.... I've been listening to his music since I was 6....I'm now 44 and still enjoying it.... 👍🏻
Well, my favourite is Amarok, The Song of DIstant Earth, and of course Tubular Bells (1, 2). Other albusm are also great, however i never liked Millenium Bell :-) Voyager is amazing as well :)
She could have sung it better. She is cutting out the tunes, I would have liked them to be more... bearing. Well.. wonderful song, wonderful voice, but bad performed.
Gives me chills everytime
Wow Hayley looks wonderful here, what a class act!!! And thanks to Mike as well.
This song sends chills down my spine. Just... the way she sings it... phenomenal

Brilliant
Listen to Ommadawn, The Song of Distant Earth, you should love it ;-)
The Songs of Distant Earth! One of my all time favorites, inspired by the Arthur Clark science fiction novel of the same name. Both are amazing!
Some parts of her voices reminds me Enya.

Always been a fan of Mike Oldfield. He's looking a tad embarmed these days, but just as talented as ever...
4 people think justin beiber classes as good music.
