When you can listen to music without any lyrics and truly appreciate the art and where its coming from, thats when you know you've learn to feel the art if that makes any sense.
I was always confused on where English got "a" (as in "a dog", "a man") when German and Dutch has "ein" and "een" (respectively). But then I realized... the word "an" exists. Also the singing part was in a different soundtrack (Vogel im kafig I think) but Hiroyuki Sawano is the master of bringing same motives and elements to make something completely new
I am desperate for them to use Vogel im Kafig during some of the darker moments in the series to juxtapose Eren's perspective from his actions. Just imagine if it's playing during the big moment!

The show deserved nothing less than this song for one of it's most dramatic moments, and I am glad to say there are a few more tracks which are INSANE for the most dramatic moments. We have to understand, the music is an art in and of itself, but so is the series. It conveys a message like no other movie has before it.

I’ve been a fan of AOT since it came out, and what surprises me is that this track came out in season 2 and is only getting so much love now that season 4 is drawing worldwide attention to itself. Please do Unravel, Gurenge, and A Cruel Angel’s Thesis. These are pretty big songs so I think they’ll be a good start. After those, you could get to songs like Senbonzakura, King, and Itte.

The same can’t be said for what I listed, since all of those opening were under focus themselves along with the series they were from. People were being absolutely blown away by the pure song itself, where as with One Punch Man, it was a good song, but the song itself wasn’t as big. Especially compared to A Cruel Angel’s Thesis and Unravel.

Funnily enough, it works because a foreigner wrote the song. A native speaker would never structure the syllables and harmonies in those specific ways (I strongly assume) because that’s not how German works. The word choice is really good, the text is poetic and makes sense in and of itself. But the way not only the words are pronounced obviously but also the notes and harmonies, how the words are hyphenated in singing and the general structure is off in a way that gives it away to a native speaker that a foreigner is behind this song. Because they are much less limited by the “rules”, they can be way more creative in general which helps with making this song work so incredibly well.

The score of Attack on Titan by Hiroyuki Sawano and Kohta Yamamoto is some of the best music I’ve ever heard, alive bought seasons 1 & 2 on vinyl and plan to buy season 3 & 4 when those get released.
I did not realize I was missing out on a good series until I heard Sawano Hiroyuki's music. His music drove me to watch AOT and I am forever thankful for it. Also, if you are going down the Annie path, there is a recent anime movie by Mamoru Hosoda, "Belle" and the music in that is amazing! The VA's of the main character, Kaho Nakamura (Japanese) and Kylie McNeill (English) really hit it out of the park with their performances. Please react to the songs "U", "Gales of Song", "Lend Me Your Voice", and "A Million Miles Away". 🙏
To me it paints a picture of despair. Not just for those who are victims to what Annie, Bertholdt, and Reiner are doing. But also despair from their perspective. Though they know what they’re doing is for “the greater good” (from their skewed point of view) they still don’t take joy in ending innocent lives. But what choice do they feel they have? Go back to Marley empty handed? They can’t! They’re already ostracized for being Eldian. They’re families would suffer. They are victims of circumstance.
You should watch the "Attack on Titan Suite" which is composite of the greatest hits from Hiroyuki Sawano's soundtrack for this absolutely legendary show.

Hiroyuki Sawano is a great artist. Highly recommend his other works, such as Promare and Aldnoah Zero.

Funnily enough, it works because a foreigner wrote the song. A native speaker would never structure the syllables and harmonies in those specific ways (I strongly assume) because that’s not how German works.
The word choice is really good, the text is poetic and makes sense in and of itself. But the way not only the words are pronounced obviously but also the notes and harmonies, how the words are hyphenated in singing and the general structure is off in a way that gives it away to a native speaker that a foreigner is behind this song. Because they are much less limited by the “rules”, they can be way more creative in general which helps with making this song work so incredibly well.
The music from the AoT soundtrack is just masterclass... perfectly conveys emotion throughout the entire series. But glad you enjoyed! Keep goin man!

Loved it and you should check out more anime inspired music, there's so much other there. The variety is so great and you have songs for every emotions. The score of Attack on Titan by Hiroyuki Sawano and Kohta Yamamoto is some of the best music I’ve ever heard, alive bought seasons 1 & 2 on vinyl and plan to buy season 3 & 4 when those get released.

I did not realize I was missing out on a good series until I heard Sawano Hiroyuki's music. His music drove me to watch AOT and I am forever thankful for it.
Also, if you are going down the Annie path, there is a recent anime movie by Mamoru Hosoda, "Belle" and the music in that is amazing! The VA's of the main character, Kaho Nakamura (Japanese) and Kylie McNeill (English) really hit it out of the park with their performances. To me it paints a picture of despair. Not just for those who are victims to what Annie, Bertholdt, and Reiner are doing. But also despair from their perspective. Though they know what they’re doing is for “the greater good” (from their skewed point of view) they still don’t take joy in ending innocent lives. But what choice do they feel they have? Go back to Marley empty handed? They can’t! They’re already ostracized for being Eldian. They’re families would suffer. They are victims of circumstance.
