The craziest part is how all of the intro songs perfectly capture the tone and feeling of the episodes they introduce. Then on top of it, how the intros build over time season after season. Like the first intros are just "oh this is new and exciting, Eren is a fresh faced kid just trying to survive this crazy world", then by the final season it's just "I'm going to murder everyone and everything".

THE SECOND ONE HAS ALWAYS BEEN AND WILL ALWAYS BE MY FAVOURITE 🙌
Sure the 6th opening My War shares a spot of being my favourite opening as well but as for the one that will always remain superior to me is the second one🙌🙌🙌
S3 and Red Swan were a kind of "pause for breath" season. While the overall series moved forward, we also look back some, too. And in so doing, we see how far our protagonists have come, but we also see what was lost along the way
The cool thing about the Season 3 op is that you can hear and see references to the first one in the music and the animation.
Not only the first, but second and third too
All of AOT's openings by Revo/Sound Horizon/Linked Horizon are connected, they build on each other's elements. Very neat attention to detail.
This is the video where I subscribed to prewatched forehead tv and every once in a while I go back to watch it.
Seriously... got gonna lie, but that first intro song is what GOT ME hooked on AOT. The chorus, the intense beat, the visuals, the battle cry feel in the song of humanity fighting to survive... To this day it still gets me pumped up!
I also really enjoyed your reaction on the last song towards the end! I could literally see your eyes dilate when the grunge deep voice came in! Its seriously a great song!
@Ahmad Shoaib I totally agree. Same here. But that’s also what broke me at the same time 😂
The opera "cry" thing in the 40-50th second of the intro. That chorus str8 up hyped me up
Me too man the opening got me hooked
Ongg same
The first season's intros are about Eren's naive passion for the scouts, and his hatred of the titans. The second season is after Eren has joined the scouts and you're beginning to see the politics behind everything and the harsh reality of it all, but he's still in that altruistic mindset. The third season is facing the dark truth and mourning the innocence of their childhood beliefs, then carrying on with that weight. (Personally I think the second intro from the third season wasn't as good because there was some initial backlash from the first intro of the season. People didn't like how slow it was compared to the previous songs, so they tried to play it safe, going back to the original tones while still keeping that darker theme.) Fourth season's intros are pretty self-explanatory: their names are "My War" (Eren's war with Marley), and "The Rumbling".
The lovely thing that Attack on Titan's OP got, whether by accident or (probably) not, is that it actually tells the story of the series, without you ever having to have watched it. Which shows, because he already got it by the 3rd OP. The first 2 are standard, straight national propaganda stuff. That's why they sound like national anthems. By the 3rd and 4th, however, creep and doubt sets in. The secrets and intrigue as the plot gets more complex. It gets sadder as the journey of these characters take us to the climax of that historic reveal. And then by the 5th and 6th, we get back to propaganda again, but with more information than just blind nationalism now. The 6th, from the other side, sounds truly ominous and unsettling. And by the 7th, it is just pure chaos and suffering barreling on to the end of the world, and the end of the story. Absolutely amazing!
Third was politics and mostly focused on erwin.
I disagree, my favorite opening is the second opening of season three because of the subtle audio cues, like the dogs barking, the planes flying, and the other hints of the outside world. The reason it his the same themes as the first season is because it’s back to a nationalist mindset since the scouts have successfully deposed the existing government and put their own leader up to the job. This is why it’s suddenly a war cry, as patriotism is now key again
On top of what @Nicholas Thompson said, there’s another reason. I didn’t like it at first either, but watch a video by Mother’s Basement called “What’s in an OP: In Defense of Red Swan” as he articulately defends the purpose of the themes in the openings. It wasn’t because they wanted something darker or faster, it’s reminiscent of the 1st opening because they’re coming back to the start where it all began, returning to Shiganshina. There’s more, but there’s that.
By now it’s Eren vs the world
I'm so happy to see you deeply enjoy Attack on Titan😃🇯🇵 AoT is not just dark fantasy, but the one which has deep story
relating to realistic human history, emotions, culture, conflict, love😢
Funny how this man has not watched the anime but practically was on point with all his guesses about each season and what it entails
He's definitely watched attack on Titan before. I suspect he lies about his reaction to his audience for views since attack on titan season 4 part 2 came out and lots of new reactors are milking this opportunity for views.
@@DISCOMBOBULATED_BEANER everything's gotta be fake to ya'll, like jesus just enjoy what seems to be a genuine reaction
@@LORDdrPepper look I don't mean to hate. I really wish the reactions were genuine since I do enjoy them quite a lot but if you look at his part 2 of anime openings reactions, he reacts to the death note opening as if he's never watched the show but earlier on when reacting to "Egirls are ruining my life", he understood every death note reference. I just don't see how that adds up.
@@DISCOMBOBULATED_BEANER ok I don't know about him lying or not but his points about the tone for each season (or half-season) being represented in the music is true though. Like any average viewer could feel the slow shift in tone from one song to the next as they are watching, and how each op capture the emotions of each arc. I can believe many people could have an idea of what's coming in the season just by watching to the ops and eds. Not to mention this guy claims to be a rapper, if it's true he could have a better understanding of the way instruments can convey things, not just the lyrics.
@@billlee3851 oh ofcourse, I never had any complaints about his points. I enjoyed seeing him make quite close predictions. I just wanted to say it may or may not be genuine. There is no real way to tell really but i wouldn't put it past him to do a fake reaction or something.

Luckily there are a lot of CRAZY good OSTs in this show You see big girl and Ashes of the fire are a must hear.
Also the show is making history.
And it turned into one of his favourite shows of all time
Increíble que este joven haya descrito las emociones y partes de la historia con solo escuchar las intros, que buen oído y gusto tiene !!!
Im so hyped with attack on titan i saw like 20 reaccion to all the intros, from far the best reaction broooo my fav intro its the last one my goodd that sound hardd
The best part is that each song perfectly follows the tone of the season it represents.
The optimistic adrenaline hype of season 1, the patriotic nationalism of season 2, the loss of innocence of season 3, and then the all-out absolute insanity that is season 4.
For me, from best to worst.
7: The rumbling! Best capstone ever, nothing but metal could really express the gravitas and power of where we are in the story, plus the MC is a confirmed metalhead by the writer.
3: Shinzou wo sasageyo: Dedicate your heart, still the Attack on titan national anthem, always have to remove a tear or two. SHINZOU WO SASAGEYO!
1: Die Jaeger: This song was so hype back in the day, and still is, and it fit perfectly with the action and what we thought was a simple revenge fantasy.
6: My war: At the end of season 3 everything changed, and the first opening of season 4 made sure you knew it. Chaos and death.
4: Didn't like this calm music at first, but I started appreciating it more as I understood the story more and how far the characters have come, what was my least favorite part of the show became a welcome respite allowing us to breathe and take in the story, the calm before the storm.
2: Very much like 1, but just not as good.
5: Also very similar to 1 and 2, but worse still, still a good song, but among these legends this is the one I always forget.
I personally think opening number two is drastically underrated. Specially when it kicks up anthem sounding part interview high speed intro with the choir and guitars, Gives me chills every time
Agreed, except for me “My War” is the second best

I recommend 2 things
1. That you watch the anime, but in Japanese with English subtitles, since that way you can feel suspense, terror, fear, joy, sadness, anger, despair, etc...
2. I recommend that you react to the live of the orchestra/band, called Linked Horizon (creators of the openings of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd seasons) that was in Tokyo Dome, there is one of 10 minutes, it is better to see that

Red swan (the fourth one) has me in tears every single time, and in the full version there is a part with the best and most emotional guitar solo I've never heard. The part where he sings "We'll find a way, we'll be the way. We'll see the end, we'll be the end. Fly to heaven" FUCKING SOBBING
LITERALLY ME I CRY EVERY TIME 😭😭😭
Finally someone who appreciated red swan, everyone I've met says that it's worst opening but for me it's the best...
Then you ask: "Is there more?" And I answer you: "There are still the endings and all the amazing OSTs."
Watching AOT from start to end is like watching Eren grows up and how the world we perceived is changed. At first, we all thought "there is a war and we need to fight. We need some courageous heros to sacrifice themselves for the sake of citizens. Their sacrifice is glorious". Then, everything they believe turned out to be lies. But the same, another war. Finally, what the resolution Eren had turned out to be another conspiracy. Still another war. But the thing is every war has different meanings. For me, there isn't a word to describe this anime and its soundtrack is amplifying the plot, especially the last OST, Rumbling and Akuma no ko. If there is a fanfiction of this, I'ld like the story of everyone of them to transmigrate to our world and live somehow peacefully.
Have you seen the latest episode though 😐…..

Reason why attack on titan caught everyone's attention is because it was unique and different. Makes you wonder like who are those people, giant humans, and etc... OP1 gives you a taste for what world you're going to be in for.
8:46 Sasageyo is a very nice word in Japanese, it means multiple things when translated, to dedicate, devote and sacrifice. So the chorus sings about devoting yourself wholeheartedly and giving your life. As shown in the video it even has a great scene where they all pretend to stab their hearts as it is the salute in the show.
(Shinzo meaning heart and the title of the third opening being : shinzou wo sasageyo, or sacrificing your heart.)
I remember watching the live concert video of it and the entire audience had their hands on their hearts at the sasageyo part, its so cool to see how invested everyone is in this anime!
The anthem of AoT whenever I hear it I just sing it. Not the biggest banger like the others but definitely the most symbolic one for AoT and anime I think (through media)
Originally I thought Attack on Titan was a typical overhyped anime, however, after making it to the final season, I can assure you that it isn't. AoT is one of the best stories that I've ever experienced and is, without a doubt, a 10/10 masterpiece. PS - React to the ending songs! ;)

The fact that he became a full time anime reaction guy
I'm glad you appreciated the fourth opening. Most people didn't like it because it isn't agressive or rough as previous AoT openings, but it's just too beautiful
It makes sense he is an artist and knows music and can appreciate all types of genres
My fave opening ahh
@@Masqueradeof7sins Check out Hyde. He is such a perfect singer!
Best opening of the show i just think people sleep on it and also the last ending is soooo crazy
Me who skipped the openings except for the s2 one😭
Not only all *_THAT_* , but also the singer incorporates three different languages into his songs: Japanese, German, and English.
@@folctore Wild Side has german?

Not surprising for Linked Horizon's main man. His group Sound Horizon's been doing that for years~
TF? Openings 1, 2 and 4 and Japanese English and German, all made by Linked Horizon. Opening 3 and 5 in English and Japanese by HYDE and another band I forgot name of, and the Rumbling in only english by SiM.
So which one are you talking about 💀
@@spicyninja8295 Oh, yeah. Sorry I wrote this when he was watching the first several openings out of seven. I meant Linked Horizon.

Man, this guy doesn't even watch anime, yet, he likes all openings, unlike other AOT fans, they always had to compare all openings, that they prefer this, the first one's better, yada yada yada, can't we just like and appreciate all the openings, they're all good.
Most underrated comment
yes, thanks
The second one was the hardest one for me to get through at first but after like the first 10 seconds it's just absolute BANGER. They all really are amazing.

faccs, even tho the 7th is my absolute fav like, in all of anime, not just AoT
Literally ALL of AoT's soundtrack is incredible. Same with the show - the Japanese voice actors are AMAZING.
It even has a great dub
@@lonewolf9578 DAMN YOU YOU TRAITORS!
I barley watch anime on german (my main language) but i have to say the german dub of AoT is sooo much better than the japanese, I recommend you to give it a try. For example Reiners voice is soooo good

The lyrics for both the op and Ed is basically Eren singing it.
the end op is one of the most tragic sounding songs ive ever heard, and the lyrics of both the opening and ending songs are absolutely heartbreaking if you understand the meaning behind them.

Fun fact, in the first 2 openings they sing with a mixture of japanese and german, it honestly makes for such a cool dynamic, especially when you start noticing it, it is really apparent in the chours in the second opening
@some random eyeball™
I heard that the creator of My War said that he was actually singing gibberish for what you think is spanish and used what we heard in the opening iirc
YEAGER!
HITLER is German coincidence I think not
@@urmum8653 He's actually from Austria, but I get the idea
Two things: one, all the Linked Horizon songs actually have German names in the openings with the credits and two, Guren No Yumiya has an entire bridge in German.
Attack on Titan is a modern day masterpiece… I am not a big anime guy myself, but the story, the characters, the screenplay, the music is just PERFECT. I never ever rate something as perfect but this as close to it as I have ever seen in a series/movie or whatever.. it’s truly something to experience once in a lifetime…

Agree, I work in publishing IRL and study things like literary analysis/narratology, the classics, psychology, sociology. By "the usual metrics", its a masterpiece and I have no doubt it will be seen as such in the future.

FINALLY someone gave the deserved recognition to the second opening. it's a very underrated opening
so is red swan
My favorite part is that in the 2nd opening, there's the most German parts, for example: "Flügel der Freiheit" which means wings of freedom which is pretty beautiful
the second is my absolutely favourite!! i love the epic and heroic sound so much!
and im from austria, so i enjoy the german parts too
They're all absolute bangers. Even though my least favorite is Season 4 Part 1, it's still a solid 7/10. They're all great 😎
the full version is better + 8d version is 5x better

SNK ops are basically a spoiler with background music lol
That and imo a good anime opening can convey the emotions of a whole season if done right and I feel like aot did it perfectly

True

If youve read the manga it means even more, it almost made me cry hearing that line
Not "Angels playing disguised with devils faces?"
Anime is a medium, NOT a genre in itself. It contains content and stories for all ages and audiences. Want a show about giant robots? It has that, want a realistic suspense drama? It has that. Want a violent gore-fest? It has it. Want fun and light-hearted with low stakes? Want a show teaching you about various topics? Want a slice of life romance? Of course there's a lot of shitty ones, but also a lot of good ones as well.
best explanation i’ve seen
It's like saying that animation or live-action are genres. That CGI is a genre.
It's a medium, the visual and budget way you're presenting a story through.
I would say it is a genre in being animated drawings basically but zhat is a visual genre or whatever you call these so yeah. And if you ask me any cartoon that I know is for older audiences like Family Guy and Simpsons so yeah people still lwt their children watch it. Netflix has like a side that is named Anime but Animes like Death Note and Tokyo Ghoul are under Horror as well so netflix did a great job there and just because there are light hearted animes never mentions that it is for kids so that is just annoying. That stereotype around anime, because there are so many animations made for kids but that doesn't mean that older people can't listen to it. People around 30 still watch MLP and things like that Winx,Monster High, etc.. Don't know why some people want it in 3D in "real live" so yeah that is just funny. I am pretty new here in the Anime community watched Death Note and now season 2 of Tokyo Ghoul ^^
Anyways any recommendations ? Shall I watch AOT and are there anymore like Tokyo Ghoul more of a Action, horror themed anime that is great ?
what's your point
@@curse5697 The point is that people who may have an outside perspective shouldn't just group all anime into one category, because they are very diverse. Basically not to write off all anime because you have one idea of what it is in your head.
Yes, you're right with the 3rd one. It really is more emotional and personal. "Sasageyo" means "Dedicate." That's the commander's hype line. "Shinzou wo sasageyo!" which means "Dedicate your hearts!"
