Henry Purcell - Funeral Music for Queen Mary (arr. Steven Stucky)

Originally written for SATB choir, four trumpets, and basso continuo, Steven Stucky's arrangement of Henry Purcell's Funeral Music for Queen Mary adapts and expands the work with fantasies on the original themes. Beginning with hushed tones of a slow march, the music develops into a grand outpouring of emotion with the setting of the text 'Thou knowest, Lord, the secrets of our hearts'.
