The ULTIMATE Heptagonal Box with Lid from 1 Sheet of Printer Paper (divided into 2 rectangles)

- [Rather Simple] How to make the Ultimate Origami Heptagonal Box with Lid from 1 sheet of printer paper (divided into 2 rectangles). On the top and bottom of the origami container is a beautiful triple heptagon geometric progression that is slightly domed so it not only looks cool but you can also can push it in and out like a pop-it.
The other cool features of this origami gift box compared to other origami twist boxes is that this one is easier to fold, it's clean-looking on both the inside and outside, and it's versatile -- the box and lid can be folded from any rectangular dimension of paper provided that it's no longer than than 3 X 1. So A4 paper, letter-sized paper or even dollar bills work fine! The crux of this model is the special guideline at timecode 4:43 that allows the formation of a heptagonal box with a slightly domed top, irrespective of how wide of rectangular paper you are using. That special guideline doesn't work well if the paper is longer than 3 X 1 because the corner will land above the top edge instead of on the crease, and besides that, it would create a really short box or lid. If you want a really short box you could use a 3 X 1 rectangle and trim it narrower AFTER making the special guideline. Once you have made the special guidelines on the left and right, the next step is to connect them with a horizontal crease. Slightly adjusting this horizontal crease up or down will create a more domed or less domed box, respectively.
Another nice thing about this heptagonal container is that it entails simply dividing the length into 8 and then overlapping by one unit as you insert one end into the other to form the heptagon. If you've tried to fold an origami twist container using other techniques, you might find it's more difficult to fold than this one and might not look as clean inside. Also having seven sides is perhaps more interesting and unusual than an origami octagonal box or hexagonal box. So in conclusion... it's a pretty sweet box!...So you might as well use it as a candy box!😋🍬🍭🍡

Hey Jeremy, just coming back to this channel when it popped up in my head, it's been more than 8 years since I was addicted to watching your videos daily, and this channel has made my whole childhood, even though I'm 17 right now my closet is still filled with every single creation you've made. Keep it up!!!
Hey Jeremy you don’t know me but I just wanted to say thank you for making videos I stumbled upon this video today and had an immediate nostalgia trip of watching your origami videos as a kid and wanting to do nothing but origami because of them I haven’t really done it recently but it genuinely made me happy to see you’re still making them
Jeremy:Does you desk suffer from origami everywhere?
Me:Yes!

That's a really cool box. I will fold it and demo it. Btw, I liked the intro and that you said, "Does your desk suffer from origami everywhere." Ya, my desk that I film my videos on is covered in origami models and I also use the same kind of light for my videos. Keep it up!
It looks so complicated but it's so simple to make! Amazing Jeremy!👍
I like this box. Today I will try this model.
Wow jeremy! This model is incredible! Im gonna fold and try to demo it.
This is awesome! It turned out perfect on the first try and it’s so easy
hey Jeremy, I love your videos because they are SOOO easy. they're also kind of cool. I stopped doing origami for a while until a video came in my notifications! please continue the same way you have been. 😉😆
Awesome origami gift box! 🙂👍
I really like how both side twist and I also really like how the model is like a pop it. Thanks for the tutorial jeremy!
Thank you! Also I like how you can make it from just one sheet of printer paper (divided into 2). You could probably also make it from different rectangles of junk mail.
@@jeremyshaferorigami OK. I will try
Another perfect box it will be useful for me to give gifts.Thank you one another craft
How did you design all these awesome models? You’re so talented!

Really neat and practical design. This would make a great gift container for homemade cookies ( first line it with a fat-proof sheet ) or similar round objects
Very nice! It can be a great gift box
This is so cool keep up the good work Jeremy
Thanks! I'm able to make one so cool!

Good Job Man!!
A new masterpiece was born 😎
Wow so awesome!!
This is a cool origami i never do this before
I will use it for my origami container!
Hi Jeremy this was awesome do this model early in this zoom session!
I love the idea! Its so cool that you also folded that BIG paper box in the start I dont even understand how you can do that!
Just get a big sheet and divide it into eighths as I show it the video and go for it! If it's too tall you can fold the rim inside the box to make it shorter.
Wow jeremy this is such an upgrade now i dont need a container!thanks
You’re intro is so good you should do more😍😊
I really enjoyed folding thus model and from all the boxes you have taught this one is the best for putting candies and toffies
Well I wanted to make this again after 2 weeks but when I did the bottom part did not come out properly. There is a hole in the base and even when i did the folds right they are not coming through, can someone tell me what the problem is?
Great job 👍
Omg amazing job Jeremy
thanks for this tutorial
Nice box❤,i will try it

Hey Jeremy! Do you think you could teach an origami cicada? I’d really love a tutorial on Akira yoshizawas cicada, but I wouldn’t mind seeing your own variation of it :)!!
nice idea but i know how to make it because another youtube channel made a tutorial on that cicada
Okay Jeremy! Smile!
😁😀😃😛😋🤪😎😊☺️🫠🤤
can you next made an origami sphere from printer paper
To make the model I demoed in this video you would need to cut it in half the long way to get a 3x7 rectangle, and you could make two but I don't know when I'll get around to teaching it. I have a pretty good origami sphere from a square here: ruclips.net/video/2DTEvhlJ-AY/видео.html
@@jeremyshaferorigami oh thats ok
I did it and I did it on my first try and it looks exactly like yours but I made it really big so all of my stuff can go in there and I made the tall gold box and it fits perfectly on the lid (I made the extra tall box) and from a square trimmed into the same size as yours but the same ratio and way bigger.
That's awesome! Glad you found it so useful!
Jeremy will you please show the dollar variations and the ones that require kami
Hi Jeremy the models are so awesome and could you make a video on pop it variation it would be nuce
Me: How much printer paper do you have?

Please Can You Make Origami Gorr's Necrosword From: Thor Love And Thunder Pls😢
Can you design a dollar flasher and make a tutorial?
This is great. My first attempt came out perfect. What size paper did you use for the huge box at the beginning please?
I think it was a full size of Elephant Hide paper (a.k.a Wyndstone Marble), so 28-inches by 38 inches.
Coolll!
HOW DID YOU MAKE THAT SUPER BIG ONE OMGG
🔥🔥👍
💚
nice model. can you make a video on the pop it
Yes please
Hi Jeremy 👋
Can you teach the spring into action model?
👍👍🤩🤩🤩30/30
hey Jeremy when are you gonna release the hexagonal box from two sheets of printer paper (the one for just members)? no rush, just wondering ;)
Yes, I'm just about to.... probably in the next hour! It's a heptagonal box, not hexagonal.
@@jeremyshaferorigami whops sorry miss red the title but thank you
sup Jeremy, been watching your origami for around 2 years loll, Birthday is on wednesday turning 28 😆😅 think you can suprise me? also that ain't in the photo lmao 🤣 its Ross from Friends
keep on keeping on, Buddy
So, Jeremy, if we divide it into nine parts, then we can make an octagonal one right?
Yes, but you need to change that special guideline. Actually, if I remember correctly, if you use the second crease instead of the third crease then it will become a perfect octagonal box with a flat bottom. So if you want the bottom (or top) of the box to be a little round you have to adjust that special crease a little (one way or the other, I forget which).
Hello!
heptagon flicker?
Jeremy, you are a genius! But you're more of a head
than hands.)
can u please design a super easy flasher i still cant do one

Could you make a balancing Eagle 10 in 1 ? (Or any other 10 in 1)
Or a balancing something that changes shape but can still balance. That would be cool. Thanks for brainstorm.
Yore idea is also good. Thanks for reply. It could be cool If this balancing something could balance on box from this video
Jeremy can you fold a origami gun next week please
I found out how to make the members only model
Dear jeremy shafer, please make an origami thunder bolt flicker ⚡️
Amasing box by the way.
Good idea! Thank you.
I think if u cut out one of the 8 parts, u can make a hexagonal box!!!
Yes, but hexagonal boxes have already been done a lot. You know how for the special guideline we needed to fold from the third crease? Well, for the hexagonal box you need to fold from the second crease. That would make a perfectly flat hexagonal bottom, but if you want to make it a little domed, then you could simple make the special guideline crease a hair lower. On second thought, I should probably make a tutorial for that too!😀
I am a member
Welcom Chicky's cool origami! Thank you for joining as a member!
WITH LID
Can you help me make a model?, I’m such a big fan, I do it in my free time too!
Can you also try to make a box like this but when you make the lid like the 'special thing' it should lock it and when you make it in the upper side it should unlock it.pls
I can't really picture what you are saying, but at 14:55 I demo two models each folded from a single sheet that can be locked or unlocked on either side just by opening or closing the twist.
@@jeremyshaferorigami actually i meant to say that a box which can lock and unlock which has a lid.
@@dreamgaming-bs5049 nice idea

Can you fold "Amanda the Adventurer" or "Wooly"?
