I still prefer the S24 Ultra. For £1200, I got a 512 GB phone that is incredibly strong, well-built, and a high-quality product. Amazing camera and 8K video with no hidden subscriptions. I also got the Airbuds Pro 3 for free from samsung. 😊❤
As someone who loves both phones i would tell you that photography goes to pixel and gaming goes to s24u. Samsung has a more movie feel with its squared edges and smaller f camera hole. Also has less contrast so you get more details out of the movie image bc shadows were lighter.. But pixel had more detail in objects that could be seen and it seemed like more color correct objects without effecting vibrancy.

Not really interested in the 24 ultra, because I wouldn't use the pen. I have a s20 fe, and ready for an upgrade. Was thinking of the s24 plus or the pixel 9pro xl. Not a big picture taker, so great cameras not a big deal. Do use ear buds, but do occasionally watch videos without them, so speaker sound more important. Thanks for the info on the 9pro xl Mr. Spurt. More cat in your vids.😉
OK good now the real reviews begin! Currently have a 7 pro I been holding off in getting either the Pixel 9 pro xl, fold, or Galaxy fold because I wanted to see the Pixel go against each before I pull the trigger.
Any pixel owners here have issues with longevity of the phone? I know two people who said they’d never get a pixel again after they didn’t hold up very well (both 7 and 8). The hardware and battery seemed to age poorly according to them. Wondering if it’s just them of if it’s common
Pixel 4 was the best phone I had. Now I have pixel 8 for about a year. It is good, I noticed it is not as fast as I want it to be. I am thinking pixel 8 was not optimized yet. So, I would go for pixel 9 as think it would have better hardware and software. I should say, pixel 8 is a good phone as well just may be not as fast. But the deals on pixel 8 might very good now, I would really consider it.
i have had pixel 2 xl ( which my mom uses for 4 years and previously I used it for 3 years, still working but it produces some weird sound when gaming ), currently using pixel 7 ( for 2 years ) and phone Is fast and snappy, battery is pretty bad tbh, apps currently are not lagging behind.
i got my pixel 7 pro at launch as my note 9's display was giving up on me after 4 years and after being a samsung user for so long i chose to switch as the samsung flagship was just too expensive when pixel 7 pro was a really good phone given its price and had a great camera and overtime made me a pixel supporter and when the pixel 9 launched i decided to just wait for 10 as the battery is still good afternoon 2 years but all this changed last week when my power button just popped off and i don't think i can get it repaired easily, so now I'm stuck with a phone without a power button till s25 launches lol
I've gone Samsung from a pixel 7 pro and I hope I don't regret it. It was a tough call between the 9 XL and Samsung S24 (I've just got over the pink line on the S7 Edge back in the day which really was annoying). For me I like drawing so the S-Pen swayed it and the better performance too. But I know I'll miss the Pixel's features too which I've used over the years so we'll see I may go back to Google in a few years :D. To date I've never owned 2 phones by the same manufacturer in a row going from Samsung to Hauwei to Sony to Pixel. I would have gotten a Sony but they've kind of backtracked so much being a me too brand now which is a shame. Being visually impaired the phone has to be be as big as possible so again we'll see how I get on. :)
One thing you should add in your photo test is a shutter lag test to compare the speed at which they both take a photo when you press the button and how they handle moving object in all different modes
Quite impressed by the professional look of the Pixel photos. I'm not sure if it's just the slightly smaller field of view, but overall the images look so balanced and close to life.
Also, I'm tired of everyone saying the "sharp corners" like bro yall act like they are razor blades. It's not even bad AT ALL, especially considering most people use a case anyways. STOP WITH THE GRIPING OF THE CORNERS ALREADY that's literally what the ultra is all about.
Seriously, it’s like people complaining about the weight of a smartphone…. a SMARTPHONE! If a phone, any phone is heavy to you then you really need to get a gym membership.
I have been using the S24 ultra since release and I'm excited to go back to pixel, especially the 9 pro. Having flagship performance in a smaller phone makes me giddy 😂 I just do not enjoy the camera post-processing on my S24 ultra, and the UI seems a bit bloated with the extra samsung apps, assistant etc etc.. Plus even with the thinnest case on my S24 ultra it is still quite a handful on a day-to-day basis.
I adore my s24 Ultra but I do wish that Samsung would take a page from Google's book when it comes to camera placement. I find I'm constantly touching that bottom camera accidentally, getting fingerprints all over it, and it's harder to use magnetic accessories as they often cover that bottom camera. I love what Pixel has done with the camera housing
Hey man I know u get alot of comments but can u please explain to whats this , my phone cracked In the side so the corner glass was shattered thn a week it fell and a big round black ink on the screen after few days it seems to to displacing or rearranging now the round black ink become smaller and smaller by the day now there just a dot probably will go away too
I'm currently using my pixel 8a over my z fold 5 and for what ever reason I can't seem to put this phone down... Although it's slow when it charges and the over heating issue I like the camera and the feel of the phone with out a case ... Just software wise on their foldables could be better
I'm still on a Oneplus 5 (not T) and it's actually still pretty good. But I don't get any updates since like 2-3 years back or something and I feel it's time to upgrade. The Pixel seems like a good upgrade from that experience. With my phone service the Pixel is almost half the money with a new contract. Now I have to decide on the XL or regular Pro.. hmm
G pixel 9 pro XL 16/256 will be my very first AI Android phone (so long iPhone…): Circle to search, Gemini live as assistant, Gemini nano for screenshots app, tripod-like panoramas, etc.
im a pixel user but recently changed from pixel 7 to s24 ultra but when I found out that price of pixel 9 is almost the price of s24 ultra I don't plan going back to pixel 9 for the meantime since processor still tensor and we all know it heats up fast compared to Snapdragon, I hope pixel can go back using snapdragon soon as tensor is a little bit trash to be honest.
The way I use my current phone - Galaxy S23 Ultra, I go for the S24 Ultra. I often use the S-pen, dual sim (you cannot use e-sim on PAYG, and I use a lot of Samsung specific apps, that would need thirdparty and paid apps on other brands. Google Pixel 9 Pro 3 cameras practically cover what Samsung's S24 Ultra 4 cameras do in most situations. Samsung could practically drop the 3x telephoto camera as I feel it is not adding anything! There are some deals with the S24 Ultra which brings the price close to the Google Pixel XL 128gb, but there are limited offers to get double memory for each price point! I think it is close and depends individual user preferences.
I'm mainly getting the pixel for the camera. If we're talking about hardware or gaming, the s24 ultra is a no brainer. But s24 U's camera just honestly doesn't impress me.
Samsung have fallen behind in the camera game. Samsung - brilliant hardware. Pixel - brilliant software. We don't have a Samoogle or Goosung phone just yet.
I think a another aspect when you do a long time review is took look at how potentially buggy their software could be. For example 6.1 UI for samsung s23 ultra kinda killed the battery time.
Both great phones! But I'm gonna stick with my Honor Magic 5 Pro, best phone I've ever had!, triple 50MP cameras, huge battery and super fast charging!, amazing low light photos, solid steady 4K video, and blazingly fast! I think my next upgrade will be in 2026 when they start to make phones with removable batteries again by the new law.
I'm glad you enjoy your magic 5 Truth be told any newer phone is probably better then your current phone Buy what you can afford and like and die with the best phone you can afford in your pocket

Not a big picture taker, so great cameras not a big deal. Do use ear buds, but do occasionally watch videos without them, so speaker sound more important. Thanks for the info on the 9pro xl Mr. Spurt. More cat in your vids.😉
Should i upgrade from galaxy note 10 lite to s24 ultra?
OK good now the real reviews begin! Currently have a 7 pro I been holding off in getting either the Pixel 9 pro xl, fold, or Galaxy fold because I wanted to see the Pixel go against each before I pull the trigger.
I prefer the photos coming out of the Pixel 9.
But everything else is in the S24 Ultra's favor.
I'm one of those people, had a pixel 7 and switched to s24 ultra. I'm not going back to the pixel series.
Both my father in law and Mrs have a pixel 7 pro, had them 2 years and been solid devices
i have had pixel 2 xl ( which my mom uses for 4 years and previously I used it for 3 years, still working but it produces some weird sound when gaming ), currently using pixel 7 ( for 2 years ) and phone Is fast and snappy, battery is pretty bad tbh, apps currently are not lagging behind.
i got my pixel 7 pro at launch as my note 9's display was giving up on me after 4 years and after being a samsung user for so long i chose to switch as the samsung flagship was just too expensive when pixel 7 pro was a really good phone given its price and had a great camera and overtime made me a pixel supporter and when the pixel 9 launched i decided to just wait for 10 as the battery is still good afternoon 2 years but all this changed last week when my power button just popped off and i don't think i can get it repaired easily, so now I'm stuck with a phone without a power button till s25 launches lol
I'm not sure if it's just the slightly smaller field of view, but overall the images look so balanced and close to life.
would u upgrade from a pixel 8 pro?
Gemini live is already available on the S24, you just have to click the live button, its right next to the camera button in the app
Does this new google pixel camera have a proper “flash” yet rather than just having the blinding led constantly on like the bat signal?
Having flagship performance in a smaller phone makes me giddy 😂
I just do not enjoy the camera post-processing on my S24 ultra, and the UI seems a bit bloated with the extra samsung apps, assistant etc etc..
Plus even with the thinnest case on my S24 ultra it is still quite a handful on a day-to-day basis.
It's a you problem, not the s24ultra
@@uryuu7758 ok, and guess who bought the phone?
I adore my s24 Ultra but I do wish that Samsung would take a page from Google's book when it comes to camera placement. I find I'm constantly touching that bottom camera accidentally, getting fingerprints all over it, and it's harder to use magnetic accessories as they often cover that bottom camera. I love what Pixel has done with the camera housing
Hey man I know u get alot of comments but can u please explain to whats this , my phone cracked In the side so the corner glass was shattered thn a week it fell and a big round black ink on the screen after few days it seems to to displacing or rearranging now the round black ink become smaller and smaller by the day now there just a dot probably will go away too
Where can we get those wallpapers?
Has the grainy display been fixed on the S24 ultra ?
I'm currently using my pixel 8a over my z fold 5 and for what ever reason I can't seem to put this phone down... Although it's slow when it charges and the over heating issue I like the camera and the feel of the phone with out a case ... Just software wise on their foldables could be better
Also the Galaxy s24 ultra can shoot video in 4k 120fps in pro video mode which is awesome looking.
Now I have to decide on the XL or regular Pro.. hmm
Is that pixel 9 wallpaper from "My wife has no emotion" ?
Yes
yep it is
Hi..please tell me which wallpaper you have put on s24 utra..
G pixel 9 pro XL 16/256 will be my very first AI Android phone (so long iPhone…): Circle to search, Gemini live as assistant, Gemini nano for screenshots app, tripod-like panoramas, etc.
*Correction. The Pixel Pro has Pro mode also for manual camera shots
the pixel 8-9 pros do have a dedicated pro mode now?
im a pixel user but recently changed from pixel 7 to s24 ultra but when I found out that price of pixel 9 is almost the price of s24 ultra I don't plan going back to pixel 9 for the meantime since processor still tensor and we all know it heats up fast compared to Snapdragon, I hope pixel can go back using snapdragon soon as tensor is a little bit trash to be honest.
Nice review
I'm pretty sure that you do have some Pro controls on the pixel 9 Pro XL camera app. I remember seeing that in their promotional material
Yeah, it's on the bottom right on the camera app.
What watch are tou wearing with the brown strap?
I've been using it for over a week and I find out the screen is quite greenish colored. The tune-up on the screen has a lot of green
Ha, that's dedication and a full work out carrying those two huge slabs. Thanks for the review.
When can we expect FOLD 9 review?
I'm mainly getting the pixel for the camera.
If we're talking about hardware or gaming, the s24 ultra is a no brainer. But s24 U's camera just honestly doesn't impress me.
ditto
Double ditto!
I miss the expandable storage that differentiated Samsung from iPhone.
I have both and I do love pure Android, but I still love both
11:35 A hot sunny day in Britain? Blasphemy!
please test nits/HBM in sunlight, thanks! :D
Tech Spurt's favourite word of the week: "Shenanigans."
Im gonna wait for the pixel 10 series hopefully we get something special with it being the 10 year anniversary
I'm glad you enjoy your magic 5
Truth be told any newer phone is probably better then your current phone
Buy what you can afford and like and die with the best phone you can afford in your pocket
Been using the S24 Ultra since April 2024 and I cannot really fault it. Never let me down once and love the pictures. Even the iPhone fanboyz are asking me about the phone!!! Gotta hand it to Samsung for a stonking phone!!!
After my experience with the pixel 8 I am all done with that company.
Feels Like Shit, Right?
@@MdFahim-ss7pw I used to love pixels but ever since they use their own refurbished Samsung chips, they are complete janky pieces of trash.
I really like the processing a little more on the Samsung s24u
HeY, Pixel also has pro contols just like Samsung. My father uses pixel 8 pro and it has all of these setting in the camera app. You might want to check camera settings
Pretty happy with my poco m6 pro tbh, got lots of great features for literally not even a quarter of the price of one of these pixel or a Samsung devices
I love the briticisms
can i get the multy app sound features on the GPPXL as it is on Samsung with individual volumes controle?
