They make so many 22-fret-only models and I insist on 24 fret guitars.
I did buy a 513 though as I needed a stand-in for a Strat. The slightly longer scale length seems to have helped offset the two fewer frets.
Incidentally, that Paul's Guitar is a great example of the famous PRS _Dipped In Glass_ finish.

PRS Guitars - Stupidly expensive, Stupidly gorgeous, stupidly high quality and stupidly fantastic!!!
If you can't afford the highest quality with the best materials and attention to detail, the most stable tuning and the best sustain, built in the US over months, then you can always buy an SE version and get almost there for a third of the price.
I know they are more expensive than a Gibson Standard but a core McCarty 594 is cheaper than a Gibson 58 re-issue yet is higher quality!

I sold my old 80s JCM 800 stack, my SG Standard, and my Les Paul Traditional to go and get married in the USA. Did not work out and I recently found myself back home in NZ without a guitar.
I wanted to replace the Gibsons, but just found a used PRS SE 245 modded with Schaller locking tuners, Switchcraft jack and toggle, PRS USA knobs and coil splitting, SD Whole Lotta Humbucker set etc. I thought it was just going to be a half decent guitar to get by on until I replace my Gibsons. The SE is so damn good that I do not feel the urge to get something else. It sings and plays really well. it's a heavy gat, but also has a lot of volume unplugged and lots of sustain. The SD pups are great too. A little more juice than PAF style, but due to the extra clarity and response they clean up at least as well, so they are like a slightly hot PAF that cleans up like a low output one. Amazing pups.
I was surprised at the SE because the McCarty I played a few years ago had no mojo.

Ive done 2 trades with people I didnt know both 7yrs ago. on ome Im in NH and he was in Oregon, I traded him a Randall RM100KH heade with only one module for a 2007 ESP KH2 bolt on without a case. I made out like a criminal on the deal but all we had was a couple chats from the Randall forum. Leap of faith! And secondly I traded an original 1985 Charvel Single EMG , it was their early model not a 81 or 85, and Kahler Trem pointy headstock for a late 2000's Jackson RR1 with upgrades. I had repainted my Charvel and added a micro switch for something stupid and definitely lowered the value so again I got a super deal. I remember watching the tracking info for both and just hoping I didnt get screwed. I will say, a good phone conversation before both gave me a sense I could trust them and vise versa. Even just 6-8yrs ago the internet was a very different place and now Im not sure id do it unless I was real comfortable.

Only people that never played, never owned or can't afford a PRS are trash talking about PRS guitars... Most of the time, it's only ignorance, hate and envy that is talking!
Real guitarists judge any gear by themselves and if something doesn't fit their needs, budget or preferences, they just move on and use something else. They don't need to bitch about it on a youtube comment as soon as they see another guitarist using it.

I agree. The PRS is so beautiful. I have a custom 24 USA anniversary edition and it's so nice I just look at it more than i play it. It stays in its case because I dare scratch it and I like to feel the special occasion i play it. It's a great all-rounder. But for practicing I generally use my cheaper ones, most versatile is my VARIAX JTV69s which does a good strat sound and is great for altered timings or if I want to go 80s metal I love my charvel so-cal with floyd rose. These are my work horses. To anyway saying the neck is a problem on PRS, get a pattern thin neck - definitely nice to play for me. Rabea your playing is great as usual - I saw you in Newcastle a couple of years ago with dorje. Sounded awesome

Loving the sound of that guitar! A very focused, punchy sound to it. I would imagine that narrow humbucker design has a lot to do with it. Congrats Rabea! BTW, I'm happy to see you've lost a lot of weight man. You look much better now!

Ah man...whatever guitar is being used, it's all about that neck pickup. Sublime.

It's really inspiring to watch you play the guitar, brutha. I've learned some stuff just by absorbing the stuff you play. I appreciate it!

I can't imagine ever selling my PRS. I've parted with quite a few things that I though I would hang on to for a long time but my dark blue 25th anniversary, I want that thing standing next to my casket when I'm done with this world.

I have a 25th anni SAS with narrowfield pickups. Definitely a keeper.

This will sound like a weird compliment...but i feel a sense of pride seeing another guitarist of arabic descent that is such a badass player. *Hi five*
Im thinking of getting a prs semi hollowbody.

i remember paul doing an interview where he said he didn't like seeing so many of his guitars unplayed because they were so beautiful some owners were inclined to leave them in the case .

man every time I hear u on a prs I want one so bad idk what it is about u specifically..u seem to get great strat and les paul tones, gotta be the fingers! congrats on the new axe! it sounds killer. also I totally agree about the preciousness vs battle wound idealology..all marks n dings tell a story!

She's a real sweety there Bea. There is just something about a real PRS that oozes inspiration. Just like a real USA Strat, Les Paul or any one of the Holy Trinity. You will be drawn to sit and write riff after riff after riff.

Its sometimes nice to have a change, I recently made the switch from a Music Man JP7 to an Ibanez Jbm100, I still have the MM and its still a great guitar but the change of scenery feels really good and has given me a whole new inspiration for writing

Honestly I'm not the biggest fan of Dorje but I could listen to you play all day long, you have a great range of genre knowledge and theory which you play greatly with. I think you could release a solo record and hope you do eventually.
