There's been a lot of random numbers thrown around for this page file, so I figured a dedicated short piece on what was stated by BSG in a bug report would help clear the air along with an explanation of *why* they recommended it (and to who). If it helped, please hit the usual buttons, and thanks for watching :D

The correct, and recommended, way to input values is in multiples of binary, 1gb = 1024.

After the last few recent updates, my fps improved massively and seems like they fixed a lot of memory leaks that caused my ram to overflow so the game stuttered especially when moving (loading meshes over few bits of MB free of ram caused massive fps drops). Slowly but surely. Keep in mind a lot of the "cleanup" will likely happen as we get closer to (or even past) 1.0, especially since we're still waiting on Unity 2023. BSG does the optimization by hand and thus they need the right tools for the job first.

Great video addressing the page file subject, i completely agree also. Its a setting that if correctly managed, help with smoothness and stability, resulting in less stutters. The only question that remains for me is... ¿for those of us that only have 1 main ssd, or 1ssd and one hdd? ¿where should the page file be allocated? For me i just put it in the main ssd, wich is where the game is installed and where the SO is installed. Wich is obiously not ideal, since a lot of data transfer and read is occuring at the same time, probably bottlenecking my poor sata ssd haha. ¿Would it be better to have the page file on the hdd or the game on the hdd what do you think? For me personally i have 1 sata ssd 480gb for the so and some games, and a spining slow thing ahaha for the rest.

Not really related with paging files but I have a laptop with r9 7940hs, 4070 and 16 gigs of ddr5 ram. I have checked that my cpu is not thermal throttling and i have +80 fpa in all the other maps but in streets, my fps drops below 60-50 and stutters from time to time and using scopes also causes instant 15 fps loss. I know the dual channeling and some stuff are different in ddr5 rams but do you think upgrading to 32gb can fix that ? (My ingame settings are low and as performance oriented as possible) i dont use lasso but i use intelligent ram cleaner.

Yes I do believe ram would help I had the same issue with 32 gb of ram and a 1660 Ti, but an intel i7 6700 and would get scope in fps drop. So for me it was just the cpu holding me back. I think in your case it’s the ram.
