I always enjoy seeing Dave on the channel. If I were him, I would keep that driver.

Use a titleist ts2 9.5 degree lofted down to 8.75. Stiff shaft hazardous smoke

Playing a Ping G425 LST driver with a Tensei Orange 6.0 60g. 3 wood is a Ping G410 with a 6.0 Alta pro. Driver is standard loft and lie @ 9°. 3 wood is turned up to 15.5° with standard lie. Love them both. They don't always love me, but that's the nature of the game.

I just bought a Mizuno ST200 with an Atmos shaft for $123.00 at Rock Bottom Golf online. Moved up from the 2007 Cobra Speed LD. +25 more yards and 300% more forgiving. At 44 years old I suspect this will be my last new driver.

My comment has no point of value to anyone but I felt like saying it.

For a lot of amateurs, the short shaft is exactly what they need on a driver. The consistency more than makes up for the little bit of distance loss.

As a 68 year old 15 hdc. I bag the Callaway Rogue ST Max Driver in 10.5*, Maverik 5 wd. and a Rogue ST 20* Heavenwd..., the club I use to gap to my irons is a Ping G400 25* crossover....rest of the bag is PXG 2021 O211 7-Gap wedge, 54* and 58* wedges and putter....as we age I think to much attention is paid to gapping, I spend three months recording clubs I very seldom used and then dropped them....Good Luck Dave....Love the channel Chris..

I bought recently a PXG 0211 with a 55g Aldila shaft which is 1/2 inch shorter than standard. I’m nearly 70 so was looking for a little help. This set up has given me more distance than my Ping G30 and maintained my fairway hitting consistency. Seems a slightly shorter shaft does not necessarily mean less distance and is good for consistency.

I'm a 60 year old mid handicapper, and I recently replaced my Cobra F6 plus driver and F7 irons with a RadSpeed XB driver and 2020 Forged TEC irons, the F6 fairway woods and hybrids are staying in place for the time being. I'm not sure if the new clubs perform much better, but the improvement in the sound of the driver and the fugliness of the irons alone, was worth making the change.

I’m still using my Cobra S9, circa 2009. Still performs well, but in the market myself. Got a Cobra Biotech 3W….wouldn’t change it. Absolutely love that club! Always gets me distance and stays straight.

15 handicapper here. I spent ages being fitted for a driver earlier this year. Finally settled on a Mavrik 10.5, but dialled down to 9.5 degrees. It’s a great club and during the fitting I was hitting it better than the new ‘Rogue’. I’ve also got a Taylormade 5 and 7 wood, plus a Taylormade 4 hybrid. In the bag I only have either the 4 hybrid or the 7 wood, but not both at the same time. Thanks for the interesting video Chris and Dave.

I have a 9.5 Mavrick Driver and 5 Wood. Also have an m5 in 12 degrees of loft.
Sometimes I just feel more confident with that extra couple of degrees loft.

Still using a Ping G10 fitted with a 3 wood shaft, I just feel I have more control over the face with it, next down is a Taylor Made RBZ 5 wood, goes miles and goes straight so not changing that, then a RBZ 7 wood or a Ping G10 7 wood they are a bit interchangeable so what ever I fancy on the day.

I replaced my 3 wood with a 5 wood and I love it. I can hit my 5 wood nice and high when needed but I can also hit low "stingers" with it. Much easier to hit than my old 3 wood. I have 1 more club I can put in my bag and I am looking at a 7 wood to try and get that 200 - 210 yardage plus use it around the greens and out of rough. Thanks Chris for the vids!

Hi Chris ! I've been enjoying your content over the past couple of weeks. I am just getting back into golf after a break of about 12 years. Used to be an avid golfer playing several times a week here at our home course where I held a membership since i was a child. I am very out of touch with the advancement in new equipment, but got ahold of some semi-modern clubs to start back with. Used to hit Titleist muscle-back irons but figured i would get something more forgiving so i picked up some rbz bladez and a 10.5 degree Aeroburner driver and matching 3 wood in 15 degrees. In a happy turn of events I seem to have lost many of my bad habits and have been relearning my swing starting from a better place. Lol, my high slice is almost gone ! It had plagued me all my life. Anyways, I will be following your gear reviews and going through older content here. I find I'm not minding the game improvement rbz bladez irons, but definitely need to change the wood to lower lofts. In my day adjustable woods were unheard of. The best driver I've ever hit was a borrowed Callaway Steelhead with 6 degree loft. I played that with a strong lofted titleist 3 wood (13.5 degrees) Its quite exciting to shop for an entire new bag of clubs, but I will certainly be playing out the rest of the year seeing what direction I should take when it comes time to get some new sticks in the spring. Your videos are helpful, informative, and always entertaining. You're just the type of fellow I would enjoy playing a round of golf with. Cheers from Canada !

I still use the M1 driver but it’s even older than Dave’s being the previous model. Not really found any reason to change it so it’s staying in the bag for the time being.

I don't know what Dave is going to get from buying a new driver. His 2016 M1 offers more adjustability than most new drivers (two weight tracks and adjustable hosel). In terms of distance, the COR of the M1 is the same as today's drivers (by virtue of the R&A and USGA). Sure, have him fit for the M1 in terms of flex, shaft weight, shaft length, swing weight and loft. But, other than fitting, there's nothing a new driver is going to offer him that his current driver couldn't do after a proper fitting and adjustment. Further, he has the benefit of 6-7 years of experience and "feel" with his current driver that are thrown out the window the minute he puts a new driver in the bag. If he wants to drop 300-600 Pounds Sterling on golf, why not use the money toward a holiday golf school in Scotland, Spain or here in the U.S.?

I replaced my Callaway XHot 10.5 degree regular shaft this year with a Callaway Epic Flash 10.5 .used the XHot for 6 years the new driver hits it on a lower trajectory and is a little easier to hit a fade which is the preferred shot off the tee at my course.

I have a mavrik sub zero 3 wood at 15° with an aldila rogue 70 gram stiff shaft that i got from dicks sporting goods as a demo for 160 buck earlier this year and love it. Highly recommend looking into demos. Theyre perfectly fine clubs and almost half the price of used trade ins.

I have a Cobra SZ 3-4 wood for a backup club off the tee. I would prefer to set it at 16 degrees, but when it is at the 4W loft the face is closed and I tend to lose it left unless I compensate with my grip. I much prefer a hosel system like the Titleist brand has that allows to set it at a flatter lie angle and avoid going left. The hot faces on some newer 7 woods make them perform similarly to an older 5 Wood. I bought a Titleist Ts2 7 Wood and found it outperformed my Cobra F9 5 wood. Maybe I need to find a 4 Wood at 16-17 degrees in it neutral setting?

Cobra F8 driver set at 14 degrees with a junior 41 inch shaft, and I can normally out drive my playing partner who plays of 16 with his Cobra Speed zone driver with a normal length driver shaft.
