Fantastic! I am similar handicap and I was laughing at all the high and less than high lights. Have had the same late hole triples also. yeesh. Best of all ur having fun.
Nice round with some clutch putts. Not a long course but some tricky holes to contend with. Good commentary as well. I really enjoy watching a player of a similar skill level to myself. Keep up the good work.
I have been subscribed for a while now and just took the time to go back through all your videos and watch the lot. Its good to see that both your golf and production has improved since the channel first began. I really enjoy your content and look forward to seeing more as you release them. It must be very time consuming to record edit and upload these rounds, but would love to see more content and even more description of the courses and shot selections you make. The 4 hole matches would be better if they were longer but again I imagine the work involved is quite considerable. Its good to see real golfers on real courses - not everyone plays off scratch and goes round the top courses, your angle is a good one. Well done Luke and keep up the good work - would even buy a U&D cap to support the channel but cant see any merch.
Thanks Steve, really appreciate that mate. The videos do take a long time to put together but they have been well worth it 👍 Hopefully as the channel grows we'll be able to up the production on all fronts. Stay tuned on the merch side of things, I'll have details in the next upload hopefully 👊⛳

Great video. Intrigued with the 2 iron. I have never used anything lower than a 5 iron. And since I am also not great with my hybrids or woods I may look into 2-4 irons. Thanks!
Long irons when one can hit them are the best but they must be hit well as forgiveness is limited. I use 15,18 and 21 degree utility, use no driver or hybrids.
I can't explain why I prefer them but even just seeing an iron makes me more confident. I probably just need to put in some real time practicing with the woods
Excellent content! A real golfer hitting real shots! My go to club was always my 8 iron. I was a 20 hcap. The difference is the putting. Too many 3 putts.
Great round, Luke! Looks like you had a fun time out there. Your chipping was really good and the putter was your friend. That was the magic for your success. What's really special was Alex never once stood in front of the camera😂!
😂😂 He never even got close to blocking it Dave! You're right, the putter was the major difference on this round though. Not often I putt as well as that. Thanks as always for watching!
I’m local to Pontefract and I’ve literally only just seen your videos, I play off 27, your playing style is pretty much how I play a round, hit a stunning drive then pull it or top it 😂 the beautiful game of golf eh ! Loving the content keep going 🤝

Another great video luke. I can definitely see a big improvement in your game from when i first started watching your videos mate. Well played keep up the good work bud👍🏻
It's so funny/strange that some people become more confident and comfortable with certain clubs, while others may do the opposite. I came to this channel because I enjoy watching people that are close to my own skill level (as opposed to watching PGA), and yet I cannot hit anything above a 5 iron and I LOVE my 4 and 5 hybrid and 7 wood! Exactly the opposite as you and yet we play close to the same and score close to the same! I'll never understand this game as long as I live- but I love it and that's all that matters lol.
Exactly my meaning. I'd give anything to hit a 2 iron the way you do and yet I don't dare even hit anything lower than a 6 or 7 iron off the turf! @@UpDownGolf
Very solid round Luke. You definitely redeemed yourself from the last round. Luke I would recommend you maybe looking into trying a 7 wood this could suit your swing well and you have something to pair with the 2 iron on the top end off the bag to have some more options out of different lies. Awesome video cheers mate.
Thanks Kevin! I've had a lot of people recommend a 5 or 7 wood to me but for some reason I just don't seem to hit them well. I picked up that 2 iron and felt instantly more confident with it. It's odd, I'm not sure why I don't get on with them 🤷♂️
@@UpDownGolf I feel you Luke, I can hit woods very well, but I still switched my 5 wood for a 2 iron. For me it is aesthetic and me being able to hit long irons fairly decent. I am glad you were able to get along with the 2 iron.
Great video Luke. I’ve noticed on a few holes you come up short of the green. Have you tried using the back of the green distance instead of the distance to the pin? It helps me 😊
Nice 86 Luke. I noticed you hit most of your approaches short. A mindset change would be to take one extra club on approaches, get most up to the flag, and accept the occasional perfect strike will go over the green?
Mate, loved it, you're a natural at this. I'm hyped to get out on the course more now than ever. I've been out once since I started taking lessons, but have had two lessons since then and spent many an hour at the driving range and at the park. Didn't really understand what a 15 handicap meant, that round you played is as perfect an explanation as you could get. Looking forward to watching more of your episodes.
Thanks Paul! Definitely get yourself out on the course mate, it's weirdly different from hitting balls down the range. My overriding thought when playing though is to remember to enjoy yourself, no matter how you are playing. Have fun mate!
Good round! On ur flatter chips try practicing w ur 8,9 and PW around the greens . Ull start to notice that ur PW will be used the most. Ur short irons are super easy and forgiving to chip w .
Wow! Replaced his 3 wood and 3 hybrid for a 2 iron. Total opposite for me. Those clubs are my bread and butter clubs on par 5s and long par 4s. I have never been able to hit long irons consistently. When they made hybrids, they were thinking of guys like me. 🙂
I wish I could hit my irons as good. It’s like I’m watching myself golf lol. I can’t hit my 3 wood good at all but I can mash my hybrids. My putting is great. Driving could use work. My irons and wedges are just atrocious lmfao. It’s awesome to see guys who may not be the greatest making content and loving every minute. So many take it took seriously. Love the content!
Like me with long irons, far easier to hit than the hybrids and even driver. I use 15 degree utility plus 2 and 3 irons, get 260 from the 15 degree and accurate too. Well done
Watching your latest video I have to comment as I am a high handicapper who has good consistency with driver (230-240y), and can strike my irons fairly well. I cannot for the life of me hit a hybrid or wood off the fairway...maybe its the lack of offset or the lack of talent. My 5 iron reliably is my 180 club but there is a huge gap to driver which is missed on long par 3s and the potential for getting there in 2 on short par 5s. Maybe I should look into the driving iron as well. Excellent content as always.
Solid round Luke, definitely one of the better Gran Caneria ones for you 😂. Great ‘step’ in the right direction (seriously though that step bounce was crazy would have been great to see especially after first was in the water)
Thank you very much for showing a typical round as I could afford to play myself (but your swing is smoother than mine). Congratulations for playing long irons (I play the hybrids): what I think is that, if you are able to play a 2i longer than a 3i > 4i > 5i consistently, you could be much better than a 15-handicapper... I could not do that...
@@UpDownGolf Are you really sure that a couple of good hybrids would not help you? As hybrids are easier to handle, the consistency should improve. Maybe you have not tried hybrids enough...?

Decent round of golf mate, very tidy off the tee. Looking back you could’ve easily taken at least 4 shots off your total score. Definitely making progress Sir.💪

Thanks Rob! I think it’s 10.5 but I may have adjusted it to 9/9.5 for exactly the reason you mentioned there. Didn’t seem to make much difference though 😂
Came on here to say the same thing as quite a few other people apparently. Approximately 15 of the 18 holes you’ve hit it short and the three that went long looked to be thinned? Might be worth re-evaluating how far you carry each club and taking a club longer on most approach shots. I’ve found a huge difference in taking that club longer as a miss hit will usually be on the green still, a not quite perfect strike will still be pin high and a perfect strike on the green 10m past the pin.
Another quality vlog. As you say you played a lot better this time around. I see you dropped Fents for his “Camera Obstructa” gaffes, but its a bit harsh not to let him ride shotgun at least ;)
Hey mate you know your game and swing pretty well, however really work on your wedges and inside 100 and you’ll be playing single figure golf no problems, also work on setting putter going back and release after impact just like the golf swing. Enjoy your videos, dry relaxing to watch, good for the future mate, cheers from down under in Aussie land🇦🇺
Great vid. When you get a new club, do you just stick in the bag and play or lots of range practice first? Been trying to introduce a hybrid, rip it down the range and top it on the course! 😂😢
With the 2 iron Ryan, I had a range session or two with it and just liked it so I used in on the course pretty much straight away. Haha I know that hybrid story all too well!
I have almost the exact game as yours, except mine's a lot uglier. However, I always end up mid to high 80s with some great chips and putts. I'm 77. I have a life low of 4 under 68 when I was 40.
Hi Luke! Love you channel and love the progress. If I may offer some constructive criticism. I like the attention grabbing title which can help pull in new audiences however for long time viewers it may get confusing differentiating videos. The intro with the voiceover and music was quite epic however you could turn up your vocal audio so that you don’t come across as drowned out by the song
I completely agree on the title point Wiktor. My issue is when I have used other titles I tend to see a drop off in views which then stunts the channel so it's a bit of a catch 22. It is something I'm aware of though mate. Thanks for the intro feedback too 👍
Not sure how I chanced on this video, I dont even play golf any more, but Im here now lol Good stuff though. Im sure the channel will do well! Can I make a somewhat random observation. Have you ever considered that your shafts might be too long? It can look like the ball is a bit too far away from you at address, especially with your long irons. And the flat angle of the shaft I think might contribute to a shallow follow through because youre reaching across to the ball at impact. But yeah, Im just a random youtuber, so dont take comments too seriously 😆
Luke.....It seems you may be having an alignment problem on short chip shots. The majority of them seemed to be off to the left of the hole. Just a friendly observation, mate.
Due to a shoulder injury and my rotation I m no longer able to use a driver.i opted for a driving iron.prety much same as a 2 iron .I'm miss the sounds of the driver ringing off the tea but certainly having a long iron helps for a bit of distance as I do struggle with clubs now that arnt flat faces.shoulder surgery went wrong so stuck using just irons for the full round.yes its gunna take me a while to get anywhere remotely close to the 7 handicap I reached few years ago so I to am in the low teens regarding handicaps.im thinking of getting a 2 iron aswell but not sure but my clubs which I ve had to change are more of a club for beginners really.kike I say shoulder injury I ve basically had to start my golf from scratch .20 years of gold down the drain and it is really frustrating playing but I love a round of golf.good videos for the mid handicapper
Never had any lessons but I think I may need to go to a couple to see if a proffesianal could maybe help fix any swing issues I ve obviously got.i just dont have the full rotation in my shoulder so instead of what I had before being a natural draw I'm trying to compensate for that so it's not coming round now its staying all on the right side but on the odd occation after I ve adjusted my body to face further left I'll hit a straight shot.very frustrating starting again after 20 odd years of playing.short irons I'm great.after 5 iron the longer club is tricky lol
@@UpDownGolf well its an old jack Nicklaus trick. The easiest club in your bag to hit is a 7 iron but you want distance so go 5 iron. 150 to 170m straight down the middle is better than 210m into a tree or in the rough. Then gradually work your way up the bag, try a 4 iron then a 3. Leave the woods in the boot of your car. The key is the swing on your 7 iron is the same swing you hit driver with. The only difference is the club in your hand. Remember a 15 handicapper has 1 shot free on the 15 stroke holes. So hit it down the middle and try to make par from the middle of the fairway. I bet you will be shooting 10 shots less in 12 months.
Just a little comment. On 14 of the 18 holes, you ended up approach irons short. You end up just short of the front of the green almost a dozen times. Seems to me that you might want to take an extra club on a lot of those.
Thanks Eric, a few people have said the same. I've been reluctant to do that because my thought process is if I hit the ball well, it will go the distance I'm looking for. I didn't want to get into a habit of almost subconsciously wanting to not hit the ball well if you know what I mean
Some course management along with some better club selection in places, should see you improving more... Also, just for reference your shoulders are very flat during your swing which is weighing into some of your strike inconsistencies...👌
@@UpDownGolf its not turning them as such...Its more shoulder tilt you need, lead shoulder down on backswing trial shoulder down on down swing... You swing very flat and around yourself, kind of spinning. Which is why you will get pulls and slices randomly depending on how the clubface is aligned to path on delivery...I won't delve into it to much as I've not seen 1st hand on what you are doing with your grip and wrist angles etc in your swing so not sure on what matchups your making with your current swing... So don't want to upset what you currently have going on. I will link a video that I know of that might help make it more clear for you...👍
Im mad as fuck, my swing and game is super nice but i always manage to hit the odd massive slice the driver and hit 2 triple bogeys, or duff the shit out of my approaches, basically making me shit
God damn that intro is crazy!
Aha thanks man!

Yeah definitely a valid observation Joel, cheers 👍
Another quality vlog. As you say you played a lot better this time around. I see you dropped Fents for his “Camera Obstructa” gaffes, but its a bit harsh not to let him ride shotgun at least ;)
Haha I left him at home Bilal 😂 Thanks for watching!
Great video! What 2 iron do you play?
Thanks Brett 👍 I use the P790 UDI
What shot tracer do you use?
I make them in After Effects
Wonderful up there. I went there last September and I want to play now that I see this! Did you rent the clubs? And what clubs are you playing with?
It really is! Editing the footage made me want to go back too! Haha. No I took my clubs over with me. I've got a set of p790s 👍
Thanks for the advice Adam, appreciate it
Well played, good to not let the bad shots affect you too much the rest of the round. Did you notice that you almost always chip way left?
Thanks Steinar! I have, I think I have a closed face when chipping. Funnily enough, if I change it I find myself hitting the hosel sometimes
I have almost the exact game as yours, except mine's a lot uglier. However, I always end up mid to high 80s with some great chips and putts. I'm 77. I have a life low of 4 under 68 when I was 40.
4 under is an amazing score!
Thanks for the intro feedback too 👍
That 9th hole was so relatable. Makes me think of that one time I broke 40 on a 9, only to shoot a 51 on the back 9 lol
Why does that always happen?
I’m a 15.1 one handicap n this is what I needed
Thanks man!
Nicely done
Thanks Mark 👍
Not sure how I chanced on this video, I dont even play golf any more, but Im here now lol
Good stuff though.
Thanks Simon, appreciate that. Well I hope not because I had them fitted and the shafts are shorter than normal 😂 Who knows though!
Luke.....It seems you may be having an alignment problem on short chip shots. The majority of them seemed to be off to the left of the hole. Just a friendly observation, mate.
You're totally right man! A few people have mentioned it now. Something to work on 👍
this video so enjoyable...👍
Thanks dude!
Thanks David, sorry to hear about your injury
Never had any lessons but I think I may need to go to a couple to see if a proffesianal could maybe help fix any swing issues I ve obviously got.i just dont have the full rotation in my shoulder so instead of what I had before being a natural draw I'm trying to compensate for that so it's not coming round now its staying all on the right side but on the odd occation after I ve adjusted my body to face further left I'll hit a straight shot.very frustrating starting again after 20 odd years of playing.short irons I'm great.after 5 iron the longer club is tricky lol
Them intros are so cool
🙌 Thanks Skajme! I enjoy making them 👍
Where are you and your mrs from lad? Definitely a fellow yorkshire woman in her but not too sure about you👀😂
Haha how dare you! 😂 Yorkshire through and through me
@@UpDownGolf well you ought to talk like it r kid😉😂
😂 I do my best to be understandable to everyone who watches. The Yorkshire twang isn't always that haha. Green and Gold a football reference?
@@UpDownGolf haha yeah I can tell tbh, this is why I thought I’d give you some jip for it😂 it is, born in bradford but grandad was a manc👍🏼
😂 was gunna say! Bald is best (if that doesn't make sense, check out Alternative MUFC on twitter) 👍
Use a 5 iron off the tee and when you hit it straight every time go down a club and work your way to a 3 wood and driver
Why?
Should have taken a 5/6 iron off the tee on the 9th :) Don't let a hole live in your head. Lovely course though.
You're probably right Brett. I was giving it all the positive thoughts beforehand too 😂
Just a little comment.
Nicely played, would have been superb if it wasn't for that triple 😂
Ahhh I know Jonny 😭😂
Wow your a treat to watch.
Thanks Geoff, glad you enjoyed it 👍
I would say that if the 9th hole is in your head. Try playing the hole without a driver and just play for a bogey with a 5 Iron or so off the tee.
Sound advice Julian, I'm too stubborn
Your chipping is usually a big strength of your game. Deserted you that day.
Wasn't as good as it can be was it. Golf for you 😂
@@UpDownGolf Some days I turn up and the whole concept of the game eludes me 😂
Some course management along with some better club selection in places, should see you improving more...
Also, just for reference your shoulders are very flat during your swing which is weighing into some of your strike inconsistencies...👌
Thanks Sneaky, not turning them enough you think?
@@UpDownGolf its not turning them as such...Its more shoulder tilt you need, lead shoulder down on backswing trial shoulder down on down swing...
You swing very flat and around yourself, kind of spinning. Which is why you will get pulls and slices randomly depending on how the clubface is aligned to path on delivery...I won't delve into it to much as I've not seen 1st hand on what you are doing with your grip and wrist angles etc in your swing so not sure on what matchups your making with your current swing...
So don't want to upset what you currently have going on.
I will link a video that I know of that might help make it more clear for you...👍
ruclips.net/video/xCcI8VT-6PM/видео.html might help with a bit clarity...
Shot of the round on the last😂
😂😂 meant it 👀
Gym shorts on the course should also be frowned upon.
They're golf shorts
fairways are huge and I mean HUGE!
You played here?
Come play in North America
I'd love to! 😂
Im mad as fuck, my swing and game is super nice but i always manage to hit the odd massive slice the driver and hit 2 triple bogeys, or duff the shit out of my approaches, basically making me shit
Sounds like golf
To bad that #9 hole has gotten a hold on your head because you had a stellar front nine score going….✌🏼✌🏼
I know T! Real shame
