Why do you care so much what other RUclipsrs choose to game? Most of em get to test all the big brand’s new releases each year and they choose what they like best. I haven’t seen many of Mark’s videos but based on how everything was Srixon/Cleveland, I’m assuming he’s sponsored so he has to choose Srixon. And if you’re just talking about him playing more cavity back irons, that’s just personal choice and if they want to play blades, why are you gonna get bent out of shape about it? lol
@@svk_5104 personal choice or arrogance.l? Its arrogance. Jordan Spieth plays t100. How many wins, how many majors. RUclips golfers are youtube golfers for a reason and their arrogance leads to idiots on courses playing clubs they have no business playing and it slows down play.
@@sonysand8202 I would like to know what RUclipsrs your talking about specifically because you just sound like a depressed and angry individual if you’re this mad about what clubs RUclipsrs choose to play. If you seriously think RUclips pros/players and low handicap golfers using blades are slowing down pace of play because they’re using blades, you’re very ignorant. I play off a 5 and use the mp20s from mizuno and I GUARANTEE I’m not slowing down anybody on the golf course. Once you get good enough, using a blade isn’t going to effect your pace of play
Mark , I was thinking you weren’t club sponsored but after seeing this I’m wrong. I also love what Srixon are doing these days. Great stix , play well!
Mark, I very much enjoy your videos. Seeing your choices in clubs have given me better path to follow in selecting my clubs. I try to pick clubs that help me play better and enjoy golf more. My mantra is No Ego when picking clubs or playing shots. Thank you.
Surprised to see you game ZX4 irons. I would’ve guessed you are a ZX5 or ZX7 player. Puts things in perspective for us weekend golfers. Really like how you’ve blended your set to do what’s best for your game! Advice we should all follow.
Love the putter. MGS blade putter of the year. I had to try it out when I saw it at the golf shop- amazing results, great feel. Cleveland’s putters are totally underrated.
One of the few good reviews on RUclips who I trust; i thinking of switching irons and driver to Arizona especially after watching the reviews. Love the bag set up
Interesting that you’re always talking about the importance of custom fitting and you play off the shelf clubs lol, but obviously you know what works for you! Do love the look of that HB Turbo fairway wood, might be looking for one of those for my bag.
Changed the makeup of my bag for this season, Ping i230 6-9i the n move to Glide 45;50;54 & 58 e-grind. Top end of the bag 5&4 hybrid; 7w & 5w (strong lofted) and Driver. The point on grip is interesting as I’m moving to 2 extra wraps on a standard Golf Pride Full Cord and finding more consistency. Hoping a combination of tech, regular practice and some regular gym work will shave those 2-3 shots into CatA!
as a 4 handicap the best thing I've done this year is taking the 4 iron out the bag and replacing with a hybrid who wants to hit a 4 iron out of the semi or even rough from 200+ yards, getting far better results on long par 3`s and into greens from that range
I love the fact that your real about your clubs…. Help is a good thing in the game of golf. Everyone that I know want blades or players clubs and they are upset they are still high handicappers
Just done similar with my wedges, changed from PW,50,54,58 to PW, 48,52,56,60 - just blend much better now as I had too much of a gap from my strong PW to the 50
Love what you’ve done with the bag Mark! And I have an idea what you did with that grip on the driver…but I’ll wait for you to confirm. From what I can guess it’s no just grip ideas, but face ideas you’ve got going on with it.
Our bag constructions are nearly identical, except I've bent my PW weaker to 47 degrees because I want a 52/58 wedge setup but with a more versatile 52 - so I special ordered a Cleveland Fullface CBX2, like yours, except in a C-grind 54-degree, have had it bent stronger to 52.5, 1/2 longer for potentially more distance when needed, and with a heavier S400 shaft - getting that C-grind for me is KEY - far more flexible - especially with that heal-relief
Glad you brought up your driver grip. I noticed that a few videos ago after making an adjustment recently *and found the same thing myself* and I've been trying to work out if my inner demons will allow *me to keep it the way it is*. Leaning yes right now. Cheers Mark.
Just by chance my bag has become very similarly structured. Mainly just trying to get as much help as possible. Hollow irons, dropping from 6 to hybrid, wedges that blended better. My next move is figuring out the best blend from my 24 to 3 wood.
I swear Mark either checks my bag before he does his own or we both have a love for odd clubs and bag set ups. I had the original zx4 5-AW but changed to the Apex DCB 6-AW. Added a hybrid between my 6i and 22* hybrid because i had a huge distance gap. I had the Hywood and Chipper already in my bag before Mark did videos on them last year. But recently pulled the chipper and my old cbx 56* for a 52* and 58* CBX zipcore. Hywood is the go to club and ive had to friends buy their own after seeing and testing mine. High handicappers best friend. Carried a heavenwood/7w to go with the driver but recently replaced it with stealth 5wood.
Have been going between the z star and the diamond ball my self , will probably stick with the diamond for the start of the year great distance and lovely feel when putting
Nice bag Mark. I'm not as good as you but your lessons are really helping. I have the previous ZX5 drive but haven't tried it yet. The ZX MKII 7 wood(off deck), ZX MKII 2 hybrid (tee up long par 3 and short par 4), ZX MKII 4 and 5 hybrids, 6 through Approach ZX5 MKII irons, CBX Zipcore full face 56 and CBX Zipcore 60 wedge. I compared the ZX4 MKII and ZX5 MKII in the pro shop and didn't see any really discernable difference between the two other than the head felt heavier on the ZX4 and I didn't like that but I like the heavier Pro Modus 105 shaft and the looks of the ZX5 better so I went with that. I guess I just prefer players distance better than game improvement even though I'm not really all that good. I'm shocked by your choice of the 4's. Cheers!
Getting thicker grips is something I'm going to do this year for sure. Have already done it on my Driver, fairway wood, long irons and wedges and I love the difference in feel. just my normal irons (5-GW) to be switched now.
Mark, I plan on getting new clubs this years. The last time I’ve updated them was 2015 or 16. I’m on a budget (but aren’t buying a budget set) my question is about fitting. Club Champion charges $400 for a full bag fitting. For someone on a budget that’s a lot of money, money that could be put toward clubs. I’d really like your opinion
Good looking bag, Mark. I'll say that I likely wouldn't have done this if I hadn't seen you do the same thing and give us amateurs "permission" - I have two 7 irons in my bag right now. ZX4 mkII 6 and 7 irons that behave as my 5 and 6, then a ZX5 mkII 7 iron bent weak. Cheers!
Great bag Mark! Question about the midsize grips... As they are heavier, the swingweight is impacted (head feels lighter?). Ideally, wouldn't you get them gripped and swing weighted by Srixon instead. or are you just not sensitive to the lighter head feel?
I appreciate that you don´t care about cosmetics and so on. And I respect that you build your bag purely on lofts, ease of use and numbers. However, I really wouldn´t enjoy this kind of bag with 2 PWs, chunky irons, chipper, different brands... From my point of view it´s not only about numbers. Although game improvement irons make it easier and I maybe would profit from having these in the bag (hcp 9) I really don´t want to look down on such chunky irons. For me (!) it´s about asthetics as well. All the best for your season Mark!
Thanks Mark. There is so much hype to go player distance irons that I was considering it. I was thinking of going with the zx5 mkii but after watching this I think I could also benefit from a little more help with the zx4. You mention adding the zx7 PW. Did you consider blending the zx5 8i, 9i, PW at that end of my bag? Or was there not a lot of difference when you tried them? This is my biggest concern when getting fitted for irons. They do everything with a 7i. Ric
I’ve played pula golf course and it was the best golf club I’ve played until now as I was at Portugal’s best golf course during Easter called Monte rei it would be cool if you could make a video about it, love your videos !
Could tell on the original mark II video that this version made an impression on you 🤣 The club I'm most impressed with is you've stuck to having a bit of help with the 50 degree wedge ... Another lesson that will slip under the radar of a few but needed by the many 👍
I’m sure you know this Mark but those grips you want to put on are heavier and will affect the swing weight especially on your irons. Winn make midsize grips that are the same weight as standard grips. I have big hands and struggled with the added weight/swing weight effect. The Winn grips fixed this. Great modern bag. I’ve recently put in a 6 hybrid so I game a 7 wood 5&6 hybrid. I’m 52 and play a 7 handicap. Game chargers from semi rough.
I currently have a 50 degree and a 56 degree wedge was thinking of swapping 56 for a 58. I don’t want to lose a club buy getting a 60 degree and keeping the 56 degree but worries about having 8 degrees difference. What are your thought? Typically will use my 56 degree for 80 yards and in plus bunker shots. I never really use it for a full swing unless I have to get over a tree. Just thinking 58 degree might help me more from bunkers and around the greens
Just curious, why don’t you have a utility iron in your bag? I know you have hybrids but I have found sometimes when I need a low penetrating shot into the wind or under a tree my hybrid tends to get up in the air too fast. For me, harder to keep low. Thanks for your feedback, Ric
Mark Im surprised you dont like the 5&4 ZX4 irons in the set - I assume your swing style suits the hybrids better? I cannot stand hybrids. I game the Cleveland CBX irons all the way down to the 4 iron - similar lofts to the ZX4 irons. and I freaking love them! they go nearly as long as a 5 wood - but with a towering flight that feels like you are playing a wedge from 200+ yards! To each their own!
I know you’ve worked hard hard on picking up speed but does that play part in why you play high handicapper irons? And how are your spin numbers on those irons because I hit that 6 iron 230 thru the air and spun less than my 4 iron… good video
interesting stuff. Where do you stand on hybrid lie angles? being a tall person I find them too flat. Some hybrids only have flatter settings if any (Ive experimented with longer shafts to raise the toe). My experience is irons that are fitted for me are easier to use than hybrids or woods. Also irons have a high toe, from the rough I can more easily sky a hybrid or wood. Also, also a comparable iron has a shorter shaft and a flat face not roll or bulge to confuse my limited mental acuity.
Really like how you think differently about the bag. I have my clubs 0.5” longer then grip down 0.5 for stock. I then have the option to go up the grip and down the grip to help gap. Good idea or mid-handicapper over complicating the game?
Luv your cleveland selections and hybrids,i wss looking at a srixon 16 degree for the 3/4 iron gap. Are they hard to hit? I hit it high usually anyways,no good in the wind.
Love this video Mark, it's all about getting clubs to work for the individual. Mine is much more traditional, but the shafts in irons are peculiar, but it works for me. I also have two clubs that crossover in distances but the flights/workability are different
Is there a give away on the cards with your old set of ZX4? Wished I had gone down the Srixon route. Definitely in a few years time I want to obtain a set of the mark 2s!
Hey Mark, how come you don't use the standard approach wedge in the zx4 set? I have the zx4 mk1 set and I'm looking at picking up the A wedge, b/c currently I don't have a 48* gap club.
Ok I want to know what you've done in this mysterious driver test. I'm also gaming the Srixon ZX5 MKII LS and loving it. Curious what you're tinkering with bruh.
Hi Mark, I just got the zx4 but have issue at lower end of bag . I see you have zx7 PW . My PW goes 130m. Have a 50’ going 100. Dose the zx7 fit in middle of these two clubs is what you aiming for ?
I find irons like the ZX4's put me off with there size and make it hard for me to hit the ball. I'm really thinking of the ZX5 or an equivalent mizuno may be my next irons because of the looks that hide a decent amount of forgiveness. But I'd like to play around with the top end of the bag to see if going away from the traditional driver, 3 and 5 wood would suit me. I was skeptical of ditching my 3 and 4 irons for a 4 hybrid but wouldn't go back now.
What have you done with the grip on the driver Mark? It looks to me like you've either gone oversize / jumbo grip, or put extra layer of tape on a medium size grip
So you’ve come full circle from gi clubs to blades and players clubs and back to gi. What made you come back and what did you learn through that experience?
Back when he was playing the hot metals and was getting low spin airmailing greens a lot. These newer builds seem to not have the same spin drop offs of older models.
I currently have a 50 degree and a 56 degree wedges (pw is 45) was thinking of swapping 56 for a 58. I don’t want to lose a club buy getting a 60 degree and keeping the 56 degree but i am worried about having 8 degrees difference.
Nice to see your bag is basically the same as last year. Your 2022 bag inspired me to try some new ideas in my bag including the lighter counterbalanced driver shaft and the more forgiving irons (cobra forged tec x). Both have been great decisions for my game. Thank you!
Would love to know as the master statistician you r bruh , over the course of the year since you've moved from players irons to game improver clubs , hate that term lol , what your shots gained are , great vlog bruh 🏌️♂️⛳️👍
Just picked up a used set of 4-P ZX4 the 21' model and they seem solid. Love my ST Pros but wanted to go back and try some GIs again. Hoping they help me break 80 this year
I like that your bag is not traditional for pros. You seem to pick clubs that work for you, not what everyone else uses. Great bag setup.
Totally.

The ZX4 MKII look so good
What have you done with the grip on the driver Mark? It looks to me like you've either gone oversize / jumbo grip, or put extra layer of tape on a medium size grip
So you’ve come full circle from gi clubs to blades and players clubs and back to gi. What made you come back and what did you learn through that experience?
Back when he was playing the hot metals and was getting low spin airmailing greens a lot. These newer builds seem to not have the same spin drop offs of older models.
Could you do another video on how this season has gone with this set up?
Any reason you didn't go with the all in putter shaft?
The plus 4 midsized grips, are they heavier, does that affect the feel of the club when you swing?
I currently have a 50 degree and a 56 degree wedges (pw is 45) was thinking of swapping 56 for a 58. I don’t want to lose a club buy getting a 60 degree and keeping the 56 degree but i am worried about having 8 degrees difference.
please do a video explaining the grip set up
Rib on top in the driver grip
Play what works. I still play my chipper, it's magic
Are bags are very similar. Im a Srixon guy as well.
#teamsrixon
I thought you would stick with the hybrid irons.
Nice to see your bag is basically the same as last year. Your 2022 bag inspired me to try some new ideas in my bag including the lighter counterbalanced driver shaft and the more forgiving irons (cobra forged tec x). Both have been great decisions for my game. Thank you!
You need to try the jumobmax grips.
Mark, what course are you on in this vid?
So Mark you carry 14 clubs in your bag? 4 wedges total?
Would love to know as the master statistician you r bruh , over the course of the year since you've moved from players irons to game improver clubs , hate that term lol , what your shots gained are , great vlog bruh 🏌️♂️⛳️👍
I took a 5 year break from golf, came "back" and wonder what happened to Matt and the course vlogs? i miss a game thats not a game;)
Com’on the chipper 👍👍👍
Just picked up a used set of 4-P ZX4 the 21' model and they seem solid. Love my ST Pros but wanted to go back and try some GIs again. Hoping they help me break 80 this year
Not been surprised yet
I am surprised you are not surprised 😂😉
Mark did I hear correctly in another video you use a 50g shaft in your driver ?
Yep
@@MarkCrossfield Cheers. Experimenting
Couldn’t a hybrid replace your chipper?
good vid
