My season never ends - I'm a golf addict. Whatever the weather, I don't care, I'll be out playing if I can. Tour pros don't inspire me as they once did, more and more I enjoy what the good utubers have to offer. Channels like yours definitely increase my love of golf, and knowledge about it.
Same, it lets people know what to expect during a fitting. It may calm some anxiety and get them to go get fitted. Don't bench the idea. Plus of golf geeks love hearing about all the different technology.
I agree, if someone is looking for some new clubs it could give them more information which is always a good thing so go around to the different fitting centers Dan and to heck with the haters
Dan, you and your videos are always interesting and very watchable. I don't know why anyone would be upset with you getting clubs fitted by a wide range of manufacturers, and then playing them for a month or so before moving on. That way we would get 10 or 12 practical and honest reviews and game results in a year. Personally, I would love to see you get a fitting at Mizuno and play them for a month if they would allow you to. Surely they would all see the value in that sort of promotion. Either way, I just want to see your videos continue to entertain. Keep up the great work!!
Best moment for me find a ball that works for you and stick with it. I kept trying different premiums balls and I could definitely tell some spun more especially on my iron mistakes than others. Have settled on a ball now 😅
I’ve had the putting yips for the last few years and nothing helped until a few months ago where I switched to armlock. Completely transformed my putting
2 odd ball clubs I play. A Ping g series 5 wood with a cb55 driver shaft cut to a 3 wood length, and a Callaway 9 wood which replaces my 5i as I love the extra height and drop and stop. I love them both
Great WITB Dan! I love hearing your thought process for why each is in there and always enjoy seeing the trusty RBZ still around! I love that Newport 2. I still game the Newport 2 Pro Platinum from the early 2000’s. Stick with what works and have fun playing this game we all love.
I seem to love all WITB from all my RUclips channels! I can attest to the Cleveland wedges, love my black out RTX Zipcores! Really looking forward to our outing this August to SentryWorld in Stevens Point, WI.
For absolutely no truly valid reason I had several sets of clubs spread out at various vacation spots I frequent. For the first time I traded everything in and purchased 13 brand new clubs and a beautiful new bag. Like you I kept one club that was an absolute favorite; my trusty SIM2 Max 16.5 HL “3 “ wood. Gotta have a favorite stick in the bag! Looking forward to my league starting next week
I always think the golf season kicks off when its the 1st league game normally around the Masters as well It nice to bin the carry bag from October and the Motorcaddy out !
Love a WITB! Totally with you on the putter, recently put an Odyssey black 1 in the bag after years of chopping and changing. Black blade with the single white line, loving it so far 😀🤞
Just put my old rbz 3wood back in the bag after regripping it I think it had the original grip on and a bit slippery lol used it at trevose the other day and will be staying in the bag for a while, off on tour to Spain in 2 weeks with the boys hopefully it will behave 👍
Switched my 15 yr old Callaway FT-9 tour for a Callaway Paradigm a few weeks ago (accidentally snapped a weight off the bottom of the FT-9). It's taken a couple of rounds for me to get used to it but 38 pts for 4th place at Cleve Hill (Cheltenham) open day last weekend and 34pts for 6th place at home course today (The Vale - Lake) got me excited for this year ahead. Got cut to 11.1 off the back of last week and a conditions adjustment for today might just see another .1 or .2 off for today. Determined to get down to 10 this season.
Hi Dan, I need to get back to the course. Glad to see the white 5 wood is back where it belongs. I am seriously thinking about putting my Ping G10 driver back in play. Too, I have re-boxed the Wilson D9 irons and put my Staff FG17 5 iron through wedge back in the bag. Using a 5 wood for longer shots. Looking for a senior league to join up with.
Similar to you on the RBZ. I had an RBZ Tour Driver with a Proforce V2 shaft and it was practically impossible to get it out of the bag. Amazing club and was finally moved on when i got a G425. I have now got a few more yards but i'd happily put it back tomorrow if i had to
Had my first ever lesson after playing on and off for 6 years. Now able to draw a ball(which I thought I'd never ever be able to do). Now looking to play 2-3 weekends a month.
I use to play a 46 wedge from callaway mack daddy but ended up going with my set PW when I got new irons. I have a 54 wedge and a 58 that's perfect for me and my set.
I’m still playing the TM RBZ 3 wood and 19 degree 3 rescue (which I use as a 5 wood), both with stock shaft. I bought them new many years ago and although I’ve tried many different clubs over the years I always gravitate back to these trusty weapons.
I found the PXG fitting was really good to be honest Dan,and I personally think the fitting process with different manufacturers would be good viewing. So when you don’t have a sponsor for a full bag it must be both a relief and a burden. While you have that freedom to go where ever you like, there’s a lot to choose from now days lol. I’ve decided to change my clubs(irons only)for this year and I’ve gone for the Caley 01t’s so I’m just waiting for them to turn up,and I’m really looking forward to them coming. If you do decide to go for more fittings dan you should film it cos I think it’s great content.
Really interesting, appreciate the story behind each club. And surprised to hear you ever struggled with putting! I have had similar issues as you with "players distance" irons, specifically Mizuno 223s, although I may have had too heavy a shaft which didn't help with distance control / finesse. Back in Taylormade P7MCs with old-favourite KBS Tour 120 shafts now
Good to see you having the freedom to not being forced to go for the latest and greatest. Not sure the MB's will last the season but itll be fun watching....
I would already be playing a lot but due to back fusion surgery in January, I won't be cleared to start swinging until first of May. I have trips to Ireland and Pebble beach planned during the year.
The rbz heads may be best heads taylormade ever produced ....i have the 3 hybrid rbz tour stiff shaft in my golf bag and have had the 3 wood and 5 wood ...wish i had kept them ....
Just put a Mizuno STZ 5 wood in the bag, instead af my hybrid. Didnt have any confidence with the hybrid, and the 5 wood with the bigger head just looks better when standing over the ball. The goal for 24 is to stay below 10 in hcp, and shoot some nice numbers on the forthcoming trip to Scotland.
Just bought the 4 box for 3 deal on the ProV1x. Hopefully it will last the next 12 months! Although how I have started the season maybe not! 😂 Was recently fitted for Black Opps up against my G410 Gamer. Lower spin and went slightly further but for now will sticky to the suite of G410’s covering the top end of the bag.
Hi Dan I’m currently playing Ping I210 with modus 105 stiff shafts looking to change to something different with a graphite shaft due to having a heart attack in December been given the ok to start practicing again after a 4 months of no golf 😢😢👍🏴
Hi Wayne I was diagnosed with 3rd Degree Heart Block in 2020 and have used the Aerotech Steelfiber shaft ever since. They are lighter and you don’t get vibrations running down to your chest. Have a look as they have helped me get down to a 5 handicap since the switch. I really haven’t missed Steel shafts over the last 4 years 👍🏻
What triggers me? Until last year, the Masters. Since then, the first day of spring weather wise if the course isn't just flooded from the rains of the day before. Which.. ehrm.. presented some challenges over the first months of the year here in Holland (just like UK no doubt)
Cheers Dan, I've been gaming an RBZ 3 wood, and it goes like a rocket (I guess clues in the name), going to try and find the 5 wood to compliment it as have a huge gap between 4 iron and 3 wood 😅
My guess is either PXG fanboys got all bent out of shape because he didn't play well with them, or Titleist fanboys didn't like it that he gave up on the Titleist irons, everyone has to be bitter about something on the internet.
Please dont get rid of the fitting idea! If anything I'd love if you were able to go to a fitter that allows you to hit all brands in order to compare. At least for us in U.S who go for fittings (those who can actually afford it these days ha) are hitting all brands at local fitting shops. Would love to see the brand vs brand combined with a shaft battle. Even if it's a "big box" store.
After being with the same brand for years, I bet it’s a nice refreshing change to test different brands and models of clubs. How bizarre for people to get “ upset” for you to try PXG 😂
