Hi guys. This was an awesome tour. I really enjoyed the peek inside of this Amish home. Beautiful, Organized & Tidy 😍👍 Do Amish homes have a cold cellar for storing canned goods?
Hi guys, thanks for the tour of the Amish house looks fantastic there. Great home for off grid Cliff from Logan City Queensland Australia from the big island.
My friends out here in Southwest Ohio differ some in that propane us used for lighting putting out the same light and a Coleman lantern. Propane is also used for refrigerators . Clothes are washed with wringer washers powered by gasoline engines. Everyone has a hand pump, but some use a couple of 80 gallon storage tanks pressurized with a gas engine pump . Pretty .much enough for an entire days use and even flush toilets. We see tractors as cars as many are engaged in the trades and pulling wagons full of garden goods for sale in the Wal Mart parking lot. Farm land is so expensive that most families raise gardens for sale or do construction using the customers electric for their tools. A neighbor who had a home shop built chicken coops and cattle feeders using air powered tools including a table saw.
We toured through the Amish houses at The Farm at Walnut Creek in Ohio. We were impressed with the beautiful woodwork. We also toured Yoder's house and farm and rode in a buggy. We were at Miller's bakery in Millersburg Ohio and Mr Miller who lived next door showed me the old desk that had been his fathers. It was like the one at 6:30 except really old. He was building a miniature one just like it. What amazing work the Amish do.
I love the kerosene lamps , that’s what we had for light for 8 days after Hurricane Ian. We used our barbecue grill to cook and ate lots of salads . We did struggle to keep our food cold since it was so hard getting gas for our little generator , sadly the public was struggling and there was a lot of fighting at gas stations . Love the simplicity of the Amish, but I must say I NEED air conditioning here in SW Florida !!
My goodness, that house is clean! Do they keep them clean like that always or is it especially clean for the video? I’m envious! No extra crap to clean and what is there, is spotless. Wow!
I have heard other former Amish take about the houses, they were saying that house cleaning and child care were ‘women’s work’ . They take pride in the cleaning of their homes and a dirty house would be looked down on and be shameful. I am surprised by how large and open the rooms are .Most of their furniture and household items look like they are high quality and made to last.
Great tour. The house is so beautiful and simple. Thank you both for the tour. May you both and your kids be blessed and continue to grow in your vlogs. God bless and take care. As always, watching from the Philippines.😁

One thing I noticed when visiting an Amish house (not Swartzentruber, though) was that they had church pews stacked up in one corner of the living room. Do those typically travel from house to house depending on where services will be that particular Sunday?
That is probably the most confusing part about the Amish. How they pick and choose which technologies they will allow. Sarah's father has a wood shop powered by a engine. I suppose that concessions must be made purely for the sake of survival in most locations.
Anyway, some Amish move into homes that have wiring already in it and it isn't practical to tear all all the wiring. Some rent and wouldn't be allowed to tear out all the wiring. You may see outlets and a breaker box in an Amish home that was not built by Amish. You thought you saw...
