    You forgot to mention to have the 4mm Allen key close to hand whilst putting the cover on instead of having to drop everything whilst looking for the allen key! LOL

    Great vid. A waterproofing vid would be great. Im in North Wales so high chance of getting wet. Is it ok to fully enclose the controller or would heat be an issue? Cheers

    • @HighVoltageKits
      @HighVoltageKits  9 месяцев назад +2

      It will throttle if it gets too hot. For most uses it should be ok. If it's very hot outside it might reduce power. I'll work on the video..Cheers

    Hi, I had a question, I have cable running on the bottom side of the frame where you show installing the new controller, do you have any suggestions on where I can mount it? Thanks

    Was there any option of using internal temperature sensor especially in case of those motors with temperature sensor being placed between the windings from a factory? External one doesn't seem to be serious enough since the motor casing can cool down faster while winding temperature can still rise or stay the same.

    Great, detailed video. Does it have PAS or just strictly throttle on this bike?

    • @HighVoltageKits
      @HighVoltageKits  9 месяцев назад

      It has PAS although on this it has limited use. It's fine for cruising in busy areas safety but not much more due to the gearing. It's more setup for the stealth dirtbike style here. I'll go over the details on that I'm another video for configuring the eggrider display.

      Is it possible to be configured for singletrack offroad use, especially technical riding etc? I don't do any street riding. It's all singletrack. @@HighVoltageKits

    I wonder if I should do this because my BBSHD has been going fine for what I think was thousands of miles ( couldn't install the speed sensor magnet on this bike ) but lately it developed a problem where the throttle will just go from 0 to 100% rather than a gradual speed increase, and this issue seems to come and go randomly. I have a spare BBSHD because I predicted such a unrepairable fault might occur but its a shame to write off a motor for what seems like an electronic glitch to do with the ESC. I find the idea of a 3000w + mid drive on a mountain bike terrifying but I have also never tried a Sur Ron so I feel like I have missed out on that experience.

      You are welcome to join our Discord community and find out more. You can also get a replacement for the stock controller. If you have the right brakes etc it's pretty easy to get used to more power. The kit gives you significantly more pep than a stock sur ron. Good helmet is a must. I ride within my limits for ability and conditions.

    I have a ludicrous v2 but am interested in trying this kit of yours. Can I ask, when you attached the phase wires etc why didn't you reuse the rubber grommets and some high temperature sealant instead of leaving them without. I understand there's the gasket. I'm not picking holes, it's just I have previously, and it's a bugger picking it all off super carefully so would rather not if safe/ok. A very informative video.

    • @HighVoltageKits
      @HighVoltageKits  9 месяцев назад +1

      It's a fair comment. I have some auto grade silicone to use around them. I want to make sure I got the rebuild correct on the motor first and that there are no gremlins. You can seal around them and many do. I want to do a video on waterproofing techniques so I will save it for that. Its a pain in the but to remove it I agree. I damaged the gasket around the phase wire plug which is why it was missing. I am not yet sure if I will use the silicone or if I will use elsewhere around the cover to seal up the controller box. Potentially both.

    Is the main purpose of the controller upgrade purely speed/torque? Here in Korea, legally we are limited to 350W (I believe) and 25 kph (15 mph). That said there are about 3 Surrons where I live, but quite a few up in Seoul.
    Just for the record I have some negative opinions on Surrons.
    Edit: Already a member on Discord. I just need to install it on my desktop.

    • @HighVoltageKits
      @HighVoltageKits  9 месяцев назад +1

      Well speed and torque are huge things. You also get a much nicer throttle response. But in many ways you are creating a stealth dirt bike or a hot rod street machine. With the Eggrider you can set things up to be street legal though and then turn that off when you get off road or somewhere these kind of vehicles are permitted to use more power. Having spent a bit of time in South Korea taking taxis I found the attitude to road safety pretty lax so not sure if they actually target ebikers there. The Sur Rons have a bad name mainly for dis respectful and dangerous riding. One of these kits though on a bike will out perform a stock Sur Ron for speed and acceleration. In general the authorities are more on the lookout for things that look like a dirt bike. Where are you in Korea? I had the fortune to visit the South for the Spring Blossom festival time. Mainly around Busan and Changwon. Cheers
