Wow that is a big difference in comp ratio.
I would have imagined that would almost nullify any efficiency gains of running methanol.
But clearly it goes rather well. Another great video mate.

Thank you very much for your comment ! Very pleased. As to me, engine performs very well, doesn't matter, that of FAI fuel. I can imagine, how it will run with just 10% Nitro. Wait, all have its own time...Thank you and have a nice day!

Great video..now those saito engines have a brilliant sound..and yes makes good power..i chose this engine over the os fs62v ..saito looks much better 👌

Thank you very much for your comment ! Certainly, I would agree with your opinion. I haven’t tested few single cylinder Saito engines yet, its in my plans, of course, but definitely, when I work with Saito, usually I expecting less surprises, than with other manufactures. I think, that Saito have designed the “general” engine concept, and being more conservative, they aren’t changing more, that it was necessary. As far, as I know, Saito pay much attention to the metallurgy and specially, in chemistry, in design and development of their models. Mechanical quality are excellent, no words. Only one design speciality confuses me, usage of the high silicon content aluminum in the friction pairs, frequently, without bronze bushings. In some conditions (& it could happens), with lack of lubrication, in high temperature environment and under heavy loads, this friction pair ( for example, conrod / piston pin, conrod / crankshaft) could seized and fail. This is a key danger, I should say. OK, this is another topic starts :-)
Thank you and have a nice day !

Yes, and it lost 1000 RPM on a 13x6 prop with the reduced compression.

Thanks for your note ! If you're meaning this data, which was published here: sceptreflight.com/Model%20Engine%20Tests/Saito%20FA-65%20%282%29.html and in comparison here sceptreflight.com/Model%20Engine%20Tests/Saito%20FA-65%20update%20model.html , you're right.
According to this data, my engine, which was tested, was an "updated" Saito FA 65 version. Both reviewers were using fuel with 10% Nitro, which should increase TOP RPM speed at their test. During my comparison test run, engines was developed 9120 RPM with 13x6 MAS & Yamada YS #4 glow plug, it was with on a FAI fuel, and the temp was + 2 degrees Celsius (not as 18,9 Celsius (66 degrees Fahrenheit) during reviewers test run. So, I think, that my engine was performed very well, in comparison with TOP speed data, mentioned in this 2 reviews. I'm still have some plans to provide a couple of test runs with Nitro added, with the same engines from FAI fuel test, to compare, how amount of Nitro will influence on the engine TOP speed.
Thank you for being attentive, and wishing you a nice day !
