I have sent video proof to twitter.com/Surasia_ to verify the legitimacy of this video. The evidence reads the following,
"Dont let anyone tell you different, Joe was fired"
They edited his contract and paid him out as things just weren't working out with Joe and Paul Bertone at the studio.
I cannot stress this enough, my source was NOT the Hailey account on twitter.
Just for clarification sake; did old 343i management do this, or was it the current management?

If Halo 7 isn't the greatest thing ever since slice bread, I honestly don't want it and would prefer the closing of the studio. Halo isn't a mid-tier franchise.
At this point, it's below a mid-tier franchise.
Any excitement I had for a potential remake of Halo CE went out the window. If it comes out and I hear bad things about it, I'm not even going to bother playing it, even on Game Pass. Why waste my time on an inferior version of such a beloved game when I can easily boot up a far more superior version right now?
It’s been mid tier since halo 4. It happens with loads of different games. The old devs have all either moved on or retired and the people working in management aren’t interested in video games other than as a consumer product.
Okay Halo 4's gameplay was ass, but I genuinely loved the Story and how they did it (even Spartan ops was a great addition that they shouldn't have dropped).
Different yes, but it was a different era and felt like it fit, especially with the time jump. Everything else about it though... ugh. And then 5 and Infinite's story are various levels of ughhh.
5 and Infinite's gameplay have been ok/pretty decent though.
If the next game isn’t amazing, I’m quitting the franchise altogether. I love Halo but I can’t stand being disappointed when my expectations are lower than the floor.

I think it's also important to state that the current leadership of 343i is not the same as the ones who made such poor decisions like having a "no Bungie hires" policy and firing Joe Staten. It could be that all those horrible management decisions left when Bonnie, Frankie, and Kiki all were removed from the studio.
I'm not saying the current management is absolved of poor decisions, but I just want to put into perspective that the old guard is not there anymore and likely the new management is trying to turn a cruise ship on a dime but have to undo so many detrimental mistakes from the past management.
If 343's current leadership fumble the release of the next Halo in anyway, the IP will be truly dead.
Infinite in regards to gameplay and presentation felt like a return to form while innovating on the core gameplay, and for the first weeks people were genuinely happy and optimistic for the franchise, but the content drought, lack of sandbox updates, and the fact that we still couldn't get split screen, firefight and forge on release killed player's interest and hope for the game, especially when we compare it to previous releases like Halo Reach 14 years ago, which was able to launch as a complete game.
Not to mention locking customization behind one of the worst in-game shops out there.
And considering Frankie was ex-Bungie that's kinda weird that they were like that.
It'll be years before we even see a course correction, assuming it'll even happen at all. I'd say just dissolve 343 and assign Halo to Certain Affinity, but hey, I'd like to be proven wrong.

I have literally been saying for the last number of years is that the community is going to have to make a choice in the fork of the road with this IP because Microsoft and 343 controls the IP and how its made, sure they can listen to us, but what it comes down to is that they do not want anything to do with the Bungie Era of Halo at all (even Bungie Development cycles was a nightmare, remember Halo 2?). So I guess if people just keep buying the games plus the microtransactions, they will keep making Halo, but its going to be in the style of how the vast FPS community wants the game to be.
The sad thing is that most people just don't care. Even within the hardcore fanbase people will be pissed off and tired of this nonsense forever and then as soon as the next Halo game's trailer drops, they'll all forget everything on the spot and be as giddy and excited as can be.

So we're taking this as fact and without context I guess. I don't disagree that it seems like a bad move and I've already sort of expected this was probably the case we don't know the full context.
It sounds like the upper management at 343 was a nightmare and all the other employee's suffered for it, I don't know if that meant Joe Staten aswell (I'd hope not) but I need more context to get worked up about this again. I was already kind of frustrated when it happened because I assumed he was forced out just like everyone else around the same time.
I straight up just need to 343i to either sell the Halo IP or just stop producing games for the franchise

@@Kizuki-0117 The classic days of Halo are over unfortunately. I loved this franchise, but as I grow older I cannot support this ip any longer. Microsoft has given them so much slack and time to deliver, and they have no clue what they're doing honestly.
