Will America's gun laws ever change?

- Gun violence kills more American children than any other cause, and the gun death rate in the US is much higher than most other countries, and higher than all other developed nations.
Every time there is a mass shooting - especially in a school - there are calls for change, for reform, for new laws come. Will this time be any different? Sky's US Correspondent Mark Stone explains.

Everybody talks about disarming law abiding citizens no one ever talks about mandatory sentencing for gang members drug dealers convicted felons sex traffickers etc etc caught with a gun. Wouldn't that make more sense to help stop crime

Mandatory sentencing is evil as hell, it directly takes away the courts power and independence, think about it.
America imprisons more of its citizens than any other country on earth already. Any other idears?
@@howabout8611 I notice how we have a lot of repeat offenders maybe prison should be so hard they don't want to go back that's why other countries don't house as many prisoners as we do. Thanks for seeking my opinion 😌
Biden sure knows about mandatory sentences, yet is now flipped 180° on the subject. Now it's empty the jails and fill em up with republicans. I can't remember, who was it that burned towns and killed cops for 2 yrs straight? Oh snap, it was the demoncrats.
There is a cultural, moral and parenting problem. Disarming civilians in favour of a government monopoly on the use of lethal force is naive and foolish.
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed
@Alexei Smirnoff It's cultural. Remove Chicago, D.C., St.Louis, Memphis,Detroit, L.A. and the the USA is very safe indeed even with firearms. The problem is cultural, in particular in the inner city neighbourhoods. That is what needs to be addressed, not granting the state a monopoly on the use of the tools for lethal force, that is very dangerous.

American society is delusional. No one needs to own a rifle.
Lots of people need to own a rifle, thousands in USA live rurally, and around the world. They must hunt in order to live. Don't be so naive lol.
The issue as far as laws in USA is that its not like most countries. Each state can pass laws and the federal government has limits to its powers over the states. So when it comes to laws there are many variants of those laws that differ from state to state. As far as the question of gun violence in the U.S. its not as simple as gun control. There needs to be a larger scope of issues dealt with, and control is only the visible issue.
All state laws have to be consistent with the U.S. constitution.
Eliminate the gangs, eliminate the vast majority of gun violence.
@@R2D6_10 While gangs are part of the problem, it doesn’t address individuals that act like every day people or even those experiencing mental issues. All of the gun problems in the US sound really easy to solve, but there are many issues that simply add to the stack of problems yet tend to be overlooked thanks to celebrities and politicians trying to push their personal agendas or being too oblivious to the entire situation.
@Creed Lionheart cutting out the gun violence caused by gangs eliminates a huge percent of the problem without affecting the vast majority of legal gun owners.
