With all of the engineering and design time they put into this tool, I cannot believe Sizzix didn’t build in the top stop channel for scoring. Knowing that ahead of time is very important to a purchase decision. Great review! Thank you!

Thank you so much my friend, I’m so happy that you enjoyed my review, I’ve tried to point to all things good and bad as it is kinda investment… I use mine but if I had a go with this machine before buying it, I honestly would thought of it twice before buying it again. Thank you for watching and wishing you a wonderful day 😘😘

I also wonder why they didn’t go for a rotary blade. It’s more environmentally friendly too and actually replaces even more too.s

I have this tool and love it. The sizzix demo is very informative. It is a light piece of equipment. I’ve done odd size envelopes and boxes very easily. It’s a permanent tool kept on my crafting table.

I was thinking of buying one of these but to be honest I don't like the fact that there is no buffer for your card to stop it from moving, I think that could waste a lot of projects.
I like the fact that the punches etc are all incorporated but again they could have made lines on either side of the hole punch to let you know when you were central.
I run my own little business so time literally is money and when you're making literally 1000's of items I cannot afford to make errors in measurements etc.
Thank you for the review, I shall re-watch over a few times to see if I am mis-judging this item.
Hope you are doing well Marta, as always love from Jean in Scotland xx

Thank you so much Jean, I'm happy that you enjoyed my quick rewiev, I'm still liking the tool, but as you said it need a bit of improvenemt. The lack of the buffer is a downside especialy once you make a tons of cards, so old good scoring board is the best... but for me it is nice to have one tool to keed on desk during the live classes or something, for a batch making I will be back to my Martha Stewart board :) Thank you for watching and wishing you a wonderful day ❤️❤️❤️

I have bought this and use it everyday. The buffer is of no issue to be honest the scoreboard works fantastically well for scoring my cards and making bespoke envelopes. I am so pleased i bought it. I have made a few boxes but this wasn't the main priority for me. I absolutely love it ❤

Thanks for your unboxing and review Marta.
I think the lack of depth of the buffer edges on the top and sides make a huge difference and can't understand why the design didn't incorporate these important features.
I too think that the hole punch should be lower. I would have used it for bookmarks but I truly can't think of a use for it as it is!
For the above reasons alone I won't be buying it as the disadvantages outweigh the advantages imo.
Hope you and your family are keeping well x

Thank you so much my friend, I'm happy you enjoyed the video, my idea wasn't to discourage anyone but to share honest rewiev, I still like the tool and it will be easier to have one while doing live classes, but for making batch of cards I'll probably reach for my old good tools. Sending you hugs and wishing you a winderful day ❤️❤️❤️

Thanks for your review. I was seriously thinking of buying it as the size guide really appealed to make it easy for envelopes. I do have an envelope scoring board but often have cards inbetween those sizes. However not being able to secure the card against the top when scoring has put me off a bit. The punch notch tools look good but as you say the hole punch is very near the top so making bookmarkers would mean thst a hole reinforcer would probably be needed.

Hi Marta I’ve got my Sizzix score board trimmer coming tomorrow quite excited as I’ve lost my interest in the Crafters Companion guillotines I think they’re quite cumbersome and basic so tomorrow will be making bunting 😊 it was through you I decided to purchase it so thanks for that ❤️💓❤️

I got it too Marta, but I’m not very impressed. The blade didn’t cut my 300gm card, but that could just be a blunt blade. I agree about the top piece not being raised, so when you score there is nothing to but up to and keep it in place. Also there is a little smooth bit about 2mm at the top of each line so it’s difficult to score right front the top. Finally where the measurements start you cannot score under 2-3” mark. If you want to score half an inch you have to do it from the other side, which makes very awkward when using /8ths. Not impressed for over £60. I’m sorry but it won’t get used much here because I score a lot and like it to be precise x

Thank you so much Jacky to sharing with me your inside too, I like the option to have all in one tool especially for live classes, but I do think that this definitelly needs some improvement. I think we felt under the charm of all mainstream crafting channels advertising it as it would be revolutionary as first stamping tool, lol I use mine but I do think that there is no trimmer could win with a guillotine. Thank you so much for watching and supporting me, sending you big hugs ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Great video Marta, I really appreciate your opinion on the board and I agree with you that it is good if the paper rests on the edge, it is so much easier to do score lines. Also I like how you created the card, I na er thought of doing the score lines at an angle 😊 have a fabulous day and happy crafting

Thanks for the review Marta. I have the Martha Stewart scoring board which I love but I can see that having one tool to do so many things is an advantage.

Thanks Marta for the review. It was very helpful. I also don’t like that there is not a stopper for the paper to rest against and that the hole is too close to the top of the page , but other than that I think it a great tool.

Thank you so much for the introduction to the score board-trimmer. I am so glad I watched this as I was seriously considering ordering it for the ease of having one tool that has multiple functions. After watching, I agree with the few bits that you found not especially helpful when cardmaking as I would probably have to haul out my other score board plus I'm not too keen on having to replace cutting blades (my current cutter self sharpens). You saved me from buying a tool that I would most likely not be happy with and never use. Again, thank you for the excellent review!!!

Absolutely right about the stop guide for scoring, my other comment is that the numbers are difficult to see unless under very strong light.

Actually, the board does have a scoring mode. When you turn the ruler on its side so it's resting against the side of the trimmer, you push the paper against the ruler to score, it works very well.

    • @MsLittlebob
      @MsLittlebob Год назад

For what I understand, you can't see the scoring between 0 and about 2 and 1/2 inches if you put the ruler this way. Apparently, even if you choose to keep the ruler at the top, the scoring lines are not very deep between 0 and 2 and 1/2 anyway. I was about to buy it because it seems to be the only board with both metric and imperial measurements, but because of what I described above and the lack of edges on the left, I'm really hesitating now. Thank you for your review and to all making comments.

I didn't see you make an envelope. I am so disappointed with my purchase. It is in a drawer right now. No matter what I do the A2 envelope does not come out. A slimline worked great. I dislike the thick scoring tool. It is the Sizzix flower shaper tool. They didn't even manufacture a new scoring tool. I can't see the scoring measurements at the top of the board. It cuts nicely. I noticed you scored from bottom to top. 110 card seems to be a challenge for this tool. I don't know how long the blade will last but they are very expensive to replace. The cost-plus shipping drives the price up greatly. The little punches don't cut, they are hard to center and keep falling out. Be thoughtful before purchasing this tool. I am glad you like your purchase. I went back to the old We R MemoryKeepers envelope tool for my A2.

I used the score board with the ruler in the top position and found it to be hard to score, then I read the instructions, and the ruler needs to come down all the way to 90 degrees then score.

Thank you for your video. Have you made envelopes yet? Im be struggling with them. I’ve followed sizzix tutorials and the instructions but they never come to size or line up to score correctly . Any tips would be appreciated. My blades haven’t lasted long either 😢

Hi my friend I’m sorry I’ve missed the comment before and only replying now. I was using Marta Stewart board which is the 12 x 12“ one and I’m keep using it up till today. I’ve been actually switching between this sizzix one and Martha Stewart, they both have their advantages and disadvantages so I like to keep them both. I hope you’re well. I'd actually say the fact there is no buffer, is an actual Major no no,
Also the ruler looks so flimsy

I bought this board to save room on my workspace. I have been a paper crafter for 10 years. I found so many issues with this product that I've stopped using it. First, the numbers are so small with no contrast. I had to apply ink to that area to see them. Second, the swing arm is bowed and allows the paper to slide underneath it. Third, when cutting, the measurement from the ruler to the blade is slightly off. The blade in the trough is too far to the right and measues 1/16" too long. Fourth, the measurements for envelopes are so far off that I had to adjust every one. I've gone back to my WRM envelope punch board. I wrote to the company, and they thanked me for my comments and sent me a link for 15% off my next purchase . Not helpful. This concept is good but the engineering is sloppy. I think they tried to incorporate too many functions in one product. Sorry. I have other Sizzix tools and use them often, but this one is a big fail for me

I bought this and there is no way I’d recommend it. For the price and not being very sturdy and the ruler is in no way going to not break at some point. Mine is in a box somewhere with my other misfit toys. I really wanted to like this but cannot. I think a beginner crafter would give up on it very quick.
