ADDED INFO: - For closer look at where it cuts - quick video: ruclips.net/user/shortsxEjZUikX4gU - I am sharing why I LOVE this trimmer. If you have other wants or needs, your verdict maybe different! And as I said - if you are happy with the trimmer you have, stick with it! I always wanted more from my trimmer and this is a great fit for me. :) - You do not have to press on the carriage for it to cut. No pressure needed. Just slide it. If you are cutting through something thicker, you just need to push it a bit more. - There is a bit of a wiggle on the carriage. Don't fret! It is supposed to be like that. When you place your hand on it, your fingers will naturally push the blade into place. - This is a great trimmer option for folks with arthritis
Hi there I live in South Africa Cape Town....I am 62 and love card making....which would be my best option to try and purchase one of these here asap.....thank you so much.....
Now, I’ve been obsessively weighing up different brands of cutters for ages. I use loads of 12” by 12” cardstock and patterned paper so accurate measurement and a clean cut is essential. So many have disappointed but this looks like THE ONE! Thank you
I have a Carl disk cutter, looks a lot like this one. its not too heavy and cuts great. Its half the price as well. I love Tims crafty things, but with everything getting so expensive I just have to pick and choose what to buy. Love your videos Jennifer, always look forward to the next one. God Bless
Thank you! I'm looking for that now. The amazon reviews for the Tim Holtz one are awful! I looked up Carl disk cutter, and there's over 1,000 good reviews!!! Thanks so much.
Thank you so much. The comparison is exactly what I needed. You mentioned a couple of game changers for me~ the portability & size of the tool as my work space is small & multi-use. In addition, you shared the light weight nature of the Trimmer which is vital for me as I have Lupus & the weight of everything matters. This tools sound perfect for me & any others who might need accommodations. TY Jennifer!
Oh yes, I'm always looking for a good trimmer. I have battled with arthritis, starting in my hands, in my 30's. Now in my 60's any tool to reduce hand pain and fatigue is a must have.
I can't even remember how long I've been looking for a good rotary trimmer, it seems like it's been for ages - every time I would find one that I might consider either the reviews or the price point had me deciding to keep looking. This morning I got an email announcing the release of this one, just seeing the name Tim Holtz on it was all I needed, my order was placed for one. I just now watched your video and it makes me so happy that I had already ordered mine. Using his Guillotine trimmers and knowing the quality of his products made this one a no-brainer purchase for me.
I’m really excited about this trimmer! I won’t use a guillotine trimmer because the sound and vibration is like nails on a chalk board for me, unfortunately. I’ve been using a very large, expensive rotary trimmer that for some reason no longer cuts accurately. My 20-year-old Fiskars trimmer is my standby but it still has a grating noise when I cut. This may be my answer!! Thanks for the very complete review, Jennifer!
Thank you for your review and video! I have every cutter produced for crafters, and even eyed the huge Rotary trimmer for several hundreds recommended by other crafters. I have been frustrated with almost all of the trimmers I have except the Tim Holtz ones. I too, am excited about this trimmer! Tim Holtz only puts his name on quality products.
Thank you for this great review. I have a Fiskar's rotary trimmer that I love, except for one thing... The 5.5 inch mark is at the seam where the platform folds. I like this Tim Holtz rotary trimmer because the 5.5 inch and 6 inch marks are intact. Thank you again!
Same here! I do a lot of cuts between 5.5 and 6 and have to measure with a ruler and a pencil to be able to cut those sizes. I just saw this cutter today and have purchased it!!
I also have that Fiskar's rotary trimmer. I really don't have an issue with the 5.5 inch mark since I make predominantly A2 cards. I've watched this video and yes, it's a wonderful cutter from what I can see, but I don't think I can rationalize spending almost $100 for something that does what cutters that I already have can do. The only thing that would convince me that I need this one is a description of how accurate the cutting measurements are. I've had numerous cutters over the years, both guillotine and rotary, and the accuracy is not always there. That's probably my biggest complaint about most of them.
Hi Jen. You’re like a kid in a toy-store. So fun hearing your squeals of delight while reviewing your dream come true! It’s a beauty, alright. Thank you for sharing, and for the smiles today. Blessings💜
I received my order for this Tim Holtz rotary trimmer from SSS on Saturday and love it. Such a well engineered product, easy to use and cuts like a dream. Truly an all around great trimmer worth the cost.
I, too, couldn't be more thrilled about this new trimmer. I was yelling at my trimmer this week wondering why would anyone put indentation (same color) measurements instead of colored measurements we could see clearly. And, the other trimmers (many) are not nearly as satisfactory for the reasons you mentioned. Thank you, Jennifer, once again.
Thank you for this video. I have yet to try any type of rotary cutting tool, so I appreciate knowing more in general. Unfortunately, Tim Holtz’s products are out if my budget, but it was nice to see the comparison of 3 of his. My favourite part of your video is your tip of scoring before cutting - so smart!
Ordered thru your link Jennifer and already got a notice it has been shipped from SSS. So excited. Looks like the same mechanism as Cutterpillar but much lighter and portable. I love the fact you can move the rotary blade with one finger. That was what i loved about my big cutterpillar. I had one of the original big ones and all the markings wore off. The new ones are engraved in green and i cannot see the markings. Tim’s look so clear. So excited. Thanks again
Jennifer thank you also for the tip about creasing and folding the card before cutting to size! I would never have thought of that but so much more convenient than having to crease and fold each one separately
Thanks for the comprehensive review of this new trimmer Jennifer. Looks like a great tool. I'm sure with the JM endorsement it is a truly quality product. Also, I so LOVE that your mini me stole your mini trimmer🤣 As always, your time is much appreciated.
I used a rotary trimmer for awhile, and the palm of my hand hurt after doing massive cutting. I switched back to guillotine as it was easier on my hand/wrist. If I am only needing a couple pieces of paper, then I use a trimmer either a rotary or regular blade, which ever is closest at hand. Thanks for your wonderful description.+
I need this trimmer! I agree with all the points you make in your video. I especially need something to cut down my thick papers for card bases and card fronts. Tim’s newest trimmer option looks amazing! I also tend to cut at the bottom of the trimmer rather than the top. You are not alone!
This is great! I was looking at it earlier today, but I thought it was expensive! I love how this one slide so easy so I will probably go ahead and get it! Thank you for the demonstration!
This is a great improvement on the existing trimmer! A must-have tool for us serious crafters. Thanks for the review and comparisons of the different ones. Very helpful.
Thanks so much for your video on this trimmer. I've been looking for another one because the one I have doesn't always cut straight. I've ordered it and can't wait to use it!
You know I have the other 2 trimmers by Tim and yes the larger Guillotine is liteweight but very awkward to pull up to my desk, it cuts pretty well but I've decided I don't like the large cutting blade. I have the other cutter like this new one but it is VERY heavy and you really have to push hard to get thru the paper. This one looks fab so I will check it out Thanks a bunch for showing this off!!!!!
Wow - love that it cuts multiple layers. I normally cut mine on a big guillotine cutter that I’ve had for many years. It’s blade is giving me issues, so I was thinking about another guillotine, but now I’m sold on this new Tim Holtz cutter. Thank you for the thorough review and demo.
I'm truly waitng for the day when Jennifer comes out with her own line of products and you know if she does, they will be fantastic!
sadly, i have no plans. my greatest joy of working in this industry is using the products my friends and such create. :)
I’m imagining with her background in engineering, she had a huge hand in this!
@@jennifermcguireink I appreciate your work, you've taught me A LOT!
Agreed!!!

It's mine...seconds ago....can't wait ! Thanks Jen......:)
@@vitazgal9933 I’m jelly. 😂😂😂. I’ll have it too, just have to wait a few weeks.
Thanks for this review. It will be my next trimmer. My current one leaves a little lip on the paper.

Great tip about scoring first when cutting bases. And better yet cutting two at once.
I have a Carl disk cutter, looks a lot like this one. its not too heavy and cuts great. Its half the price as well. Just brought the new Tim Holtz's Rotary Media Trimmer. I have been looking for a new trimmer. Thank you very much Jennifer.
Thank you for demonstrating the different trimmers. It was very helpful. ❤

This is very similar to my Cutterbug Pro. This trimmer has been great for many years and the blade is guarantied for life.
Do you find the ruler hard to read because it is all green? I wish the measurements stood out more. A great cutter though.
WOW. 1ST time catching you live. I'm so excited!
Oh yes, I'm always looking for a good trimmer. I have battled with arthritis, starting in my hands, in my 30's. Now in my 60's any tool to reduce hand pain and fatigue is a must have.
I agree with your overview. I have tried so many trimmers, and this Holtz trimmer is life-changing. Thank you, Jennifer and Tim Holtz!

Thanks for sharing Jennifer. I am happy to see that this trimmer takes 12x12 inch paper and that you can do a couple of pages at a time.
Can’t wait! I love your reviews of new products. My notification bell is on. Thanks for all you do, Jennifer!
Hi Jennifer, Thanks for sharing a really good & very helpful video very much appreciated 👍❤️
I am so glad you covered this so quickly. Thank you.
Finally! I've been looking for years for a rotary trimmer! TYSM for sharing!
I'm so excited!!! Thank you for reviewing. I hope you have a great week!
So glad to catch the live today! Excited to see this new product!
Thank you so much, Jennifer, for giving the in-depth overview of the new Tim Holtz trimmer!! ❤

The Fishers rotary trimmer is good, but that fold seam is even more annoying if you need to cut using metric measurements.
Yes that drives me nuts on that trimmer

These comparisons are very helpful. Such a nice trimmer,
Thank you for sharing, Jennifer! Love the two extending rulers.
So glad you review tools for us!
Thanks for the chance! This looks like a great new trimmer!
I have been looking for a larger rotary cutter, and have been dithering...this has come at the right time. I have ordered mine :)
Yay! This is so exciting. Thank you Jennifer!

Great tutorial. So glad you’re happy with this trimmer.
Thanks for the great explanation of this new trimmer
So glad you are reviewing this one right away! I appreciate how thorough you are. Thanks for trying it out for us all.🙂
Jennifer thank you also for the tip about creasing and folding the card before cutting to size! I would never have thought of that but so much more convenient than having to crease and fold each one separately
I suffer from Rheumatoid Arthritis. This looks to be a very user friendly tool for someone like me. Excited about it!
Same - I’m learning how to adapt to how I do things now with my RA issues.
I have RA too. Newly diagnosed.
Awesome! Love the Tim Holtz Trimmer I have, but this looks awesome too!
I've never thought to score my notecards first! I'll have to check to see if my trimmer can cut though 2 layers. Game changer!
Thanks for your review! Looking forward to getting both the mini guillotine and the rotary!
I ordered mine right after I saw Tim demonstrate it. I have been waiting for this for some time !!! Can’t wait to get it.
Thanks for showing the new cutter. I've been looking for a long time trying to find the right one and this maybe it.
Great demonstration on this new rotary trimmer by Tim Holtz. I haven't used a rotary trimmer, but this looks like one I would very much like to try!
I love this trimmer. Can't wait to some day get my hands on one. Thank you for the wonderful demonstration!
I've ever used a rotary trimmer - looks like it works like a dream!
Ooh I’ve been looking at a new cutter and this definitely helps narrow down my search. Thank you!
Thanks for the comprehensive review of this new trimmer Jennifer. Looks like a great tool. I'm sure with the JM endorsement it is a truly quality product. Also, I so LOVE that your mini me stole your mini trimmer🤣 As always, your time is much appreciated.
Glad to see you are adding Premiers to your channel. Always enjoy your videos.
have binge watched your episodes from the start, caught up to date, how often do you upload please, I'm desperate for my next Jennifer video ❤
It varies depending on what is going on with my family. USUALLY at least once a week or more

This trimmer looks AMAZING!!!! Thanks for the demo and review!! And the giveaway!!!
Can't wait to see this! I don't have very good luck with my trimmers cutting straight. My card bases are always a little wonky.
Love your videos Jennifer. Really excited to see this new trimmer.

Just watched Tim's live and need this trimmer. The best features is the quarter inch grid and cuts chipboard!
This is another wonderful Tim Holtz product!!

Love Tim Holtz products. This trimmer looks amazing.
I have been waiting for a good review on a trimmer for larger paper. Thank you!
Very nice overview! Looks like a great new trimmer!
I have learned so much from watching your videos. Thanks for sharing.
