After using mine for 5 1/2 months there are things that would improve it. Firstly, get rid of the, about 2" of dead space beside the cutting track where the Ruler rests sometimes. That should all be scoring lines and with clear to read measurements. I know it's where the rule is supposed to rest, but tbh if you want to do that, then there should be a gridded stop at the top where you can rest the paper the user is going to score. Likewise those blind numbers on the scoring panel (regardless whether it's in imperial or metric) should be in dark black so they can be seen. Also, when using imperial to make envelopes, the measurements should include 1/8th and 1/16th since the sizing chart gives sizings in those denominations. Other than those things, I love it. It's very sturdy and the trimmer rail give great stability - and the size of the trimmer guide is perfect for old arthritic hands like mine. My rating is 6/10. If those things I mentioned were fixed in a revised version, it would definitely be a 10/10.

I wonder if when making boxes, if I could use the punch that nicks out the corner folds for envelopes on the side of the box lid to offer easier opening of the lid? @@DVD927 Yes, it’s raised lettering but I’m afraid I’ll make a mess of the board if I try to colour with a Sharpie. I’ll probably give it a shot sometime.
Sharpie can be removed from plastic with rubbing alcohol and other solvents. If it looks too messy, you have options to clean up your board. I would actually use an acrylic paint pen in the case of a tool like this one. It will just hold up better over time. Holding the pen such that the nib is almost flat (as close to 180° as possible) helps to keep the paint on the raised bits. And again acrylic paint can be removed. I usually use acetone; but as acetone dissolves some plastics, I would test the scoreboard/trimmer some place inconspicuous to make sure acetone isn’t going to eat into the plastic. I color raised and embossed information in plastic all the time because I have trouble seeing that information too. @@tonichowdhury-successcoach
VERY NICE TIMMER HOWEVER THINKING OF RETURNING IT. VERY difficult to read the ruler on the white plastic portion. what were they thinking. the ruler reading part should of been green like the top ruler.. hope they come out with a sticker solution so it's legible
When you are in "scoring mode" as you describe it at 7.05 where do you see the measurements? You say you are scoring at 5.5cm at 7.24 of the video but how do you see the 5.5cm mark? Wouldn't it make more sense for the measuring guide to be on the top at scoring mode? Also, I still haven't seen a trimmer like that that cuts accurately and without feathering the card, I wish you had gone for a rotary trimmer instead if you didn't want to go for a guillotine. Other than that the board looks amazing and it has so much functionality so I'll probably end up buying it just for all the other features
Thank you for your feedback! The studio lights when filming make them difficult to see but there are notations on the board which is raised. We've had a few people bring up this point so we've reported that to our designers for future iterations of this product!
This tool looks amazing. I already have one that is similar, but not with the switch between cm and inch, that's so great. I might buy this tool if the price is not to high for me. I love that you also made an app to use with it as I just can't do the math making boxes and such. 😊 I will always need to bring one with cm and one with inches to use different tutorials. So many of the tutorials in Norway is in cm and the American ones is in inches and I just cant figure out the measurements in the other system, but with this tool it would be so simple to do without googling it or try to figure it out. I think there might be a god and right now it's called Sizzix. 😅❤
Have purchased this and is so easy. What is the maximum size envelope you can make please? Tried making a 10"x10" and had to bend corners to enable scoring. Also, can you explain ruler please. Why does the bottom show 6 to 31 cm but the top shows1 to 25?? Great product though.
The maximum size of envelope is determined by the Envelope generator which will tell you if the stock size required is too big to fit the physical limitations of the tool. The bottom measurements are 6 to 31 but the measurements from 0 to 6 are marked on the scoring board when the ruler is in the horizontal (Cutting/Trimming mode) position. The top measurements (0 to 25) are used when the ruler is swung 90 degrees into the Scoring mode. Hope this helps, thank you for your feedback :)
Love the trimmer, BUT why not also offer it for LEFTHANDED people? I cannot find a trimmer designed for lefthanded people. Same features of this awesome trimmer, but flipped to the left! Each time I use a trimmer that is designed with the blade on the right, because the safety cover is on the right, I end up cutting my fingers. I can flip it upside down, but the measurements are then hard to figure out at least for me. Please Sizzix, consider adapting this trimmer for left-handed people like me.
The Scoring Board and Trimmer (like most guillotine cutters) don't have those markings. It's a little difficult to explain without a demonstration but we'd suggest deducting that measurement from the opposite side of your paper based on the measurement of the ruler when it's in the top position. So, for instance, if you wanted to make your cut 1cm and your paper was 16cm in width, you'd align the paper at the 15cm marking to ensure that you were cutting exactly 1cm from the cutting side. The reason these measurements are normally not shown is because when the piece you are cutting from is very narrow, you won't have enough at the top axis to keep the paper in place when using the blade. So you'd need to use a slightly wider piece of paper to get that perfect 90 degree cut. I hope that makes sense! :)
Thank you for your kind comment, we just love this as a decoration too :) All of the boxes for the Christmas tree are 3cm deep then they are 2cm, 4cm, 6cm, 8cm and 10cm square. The trunk is 3cm deep by 4cm square. Hope this helps you!
Although Pete flies through it the envelope looks complicated especially near the end when cutting the the corners. How do you know how much to cut? The box also looks beyond an at home casual crafter skill level or maybe it’s just me . Again Pete makes it look simple but he is a pro and does this for a living! I think it’s a steep learning curve with many errors along the way!
Hi Polly! Please see our beginner videos that really go into more depth about the process of making envelopes and making boxes - it does look complicated to start with but with a little practice, I'm sure you'll get the hang of it! Here are the two videos: Perfect Boxes: ruclips.net/video/g0M0k94LLLk/видео.htmlsi=Dl2jzWPfkgoJhZzw Perfect Envelopes: ruclips.net/video/Gybxk7_zCeI/видео.htmlsi=PrFVzKVp9_kqgEgm I hope that helps!
Hi, it looks like a great all together product. I work in nd obviously ¹/8," ²/8". Do the scoring lines work in the latter inches, so i can score down if i need to work in the latter?
It's entirely possible! You'd simply need to add on the addition width measurement to the size of your box and create the additional scoreline to allow for the fold :)
You should see a box generator (in mint) and an envelope generator (in pink) - Each section is clearly marked so please do have another look - you may just have missed it! :)
U know, Pete, I follow Tonic Studios, You and many other You Tube instructors and/or Stars. It makes me crazy, being American to translate the math. And one MUST in order to recreate the gorgeous makes. This is a game changer that will help me speed up the process. Sizzix is the best company. BTW, Pete, I loved your Halloween makes for the T.H. Halloween live. You are amazingly talented. Thx.
Have Sizzix not heard of SRA3 paper? Every time you key in card measures that require just over 30cms of paper the online generator stops dead! I also found it incredibly fiddly when you are doing the scoring and aligning for the envelopes if your paper is on the larger size it gets tangled up in the cutting area!
There will always be some physical limitations to a tool like this. The envelope generator stop at around 25cm because as you pointed out, past this measurement, the cutting arm will get in the way (Boxes on the other hand can go up to a full 12" x 12"). Now, we could have made the tool much larger to accommodate SRA3 or SRA2 paper - or any size paper to be fair - but we know most crafters wouldn't be using paper larger than 12" x 12". We had to balance a size large enough to accommodate at most, 12" x 12" paper but also not so large that it couldn't fit on your average crafter's work space. After all, SRA3 paper is a size used in commercial printing and doesn't come in all the wonderful colors and patterns most crafters would be using anyway. So this is the reason the generator won't work past this measurement and why you're having difficulties with the cutting arm. It's simply not made for commercial size paper.
So if i had a inch strip of paper left and i like to cut4 strips of 1/4inch from that, am i able to with that gap between where the knob is and to the cutter as there is no measurement marking due to where the knob is?
It would be difficult to cut a very slim piece of paper with just about any trimmer out there unfortunately! The reason for this is because there isn't enough paper at the top axis in terms of the width to keep the paper perfectly straight when cutting. We'd recommend cutting the 1/4 strips from a wider piece, simply deducting the 1/4" from where the other end is placed on the ruler - I hope that make sense!
❤ loved, loved loved this video. Wonderful to see you finally created an all in one tool. I have your previous versions. Loved the fact that it has an interactive phone system for measuring, however the name of the app wasn't included. Could you possibly let me know the name of the app? For someone like me not good at mathematics this will be the clinker on me purchasing this product. Watched all the way throughout wonderful to see this cards, envelopes, tags, bunting, corners & holes. Will save me buying a lot of tools which are a current pain to store. Thankyou i can see me purchasing this!😂 A great tool for cardmaking.
Aww we're so pleased you enjoyed the video and you're excited about the new tool! You can find the generator shown here (no app required!): sbt.sizzix.com/ You can also access it via our Scoring Board & Trimmer Hub here (or use the QR code on the box) - simply click the link that says 'Start Creating' in the Scoring Board & Trimmer Generator section : (US/Canada/Americas): www.sizzix.com/scoring-board-trimmer (UK/Europe/International): www.sizzix.co.uk/scoring-board-trimmer
You are able to cut 1 or 2 centimeters on this tool, all you have to do is mark out the measurement on your cardstock first before placing under the blade.
Thank you for your feedback! The studio lights when filming make them difficult to see but there are notations on the board which is raised. We've had a few people bring up this point so we've reported that to our designers for future iterations of this product!
I want to buy one BUT i am concerned with the comments of white on white measurements for the scoring. You say this will be mentioned to the designers for future iterations. At nearly 70 years of age, I would want & NEED a hopefully improved version. I don’t want to start putting marker pen over such a beautiful product. What the heck do I do ?
We really appreciate your feedback! Please know that the measuring references are easier to see in person. Under the bright studio lights, they do get a bit washed out but we do appreciate this could be a concern. We'd encourage you to perhaps see one of your local retailers and have a look at the tool in person to see if it could still work for you x
hello :) -- this tool looks great :) ... Can you tell me, which kind of mediums can be cut? For example paper with 300gsm or acetate-sheets? Would that be possible? And are replacement-blades available? Thanks for your answer :) Greetings from Austria :)
Hey there, the machine comes with 2 blades and more replacements can be purchased if required. Mediums that can be cut on the Scoring Board & Trimmer are standard cardstock, heavyweight cardstock (300gsm) and then also Sizzix opulent surfacez card stock.
While this does a lot. That's a long time card maker not really interested in making envelopes. I mainly make a two cards and just buy the envelopes. But I'm going to purchase this for all the other stuff it does 😊
I bought this trimmer recently and the blade wore out pretty quickly IMHO! I opened as you demonstrated and I didn't see a spare blade!!! What gives? Dorothy Johnson
@@sizzix thank you a bit pricey for me as rand /dollar exchange rate is hectic and it would have to be courier as we don't have a postal system so I.ll just have to make do with what I have. Looks a fantastic bit of kit 👍🐘🌻
Check out our video called 'Perfect Boxes' as it goes into a little further detail but yes, it's exactly the same as the box but because of the slightly bigger size, you'll find the lid will fit perfectly! ruclips.net/video/g0M0k94LLLk/видео.html
Спасибо Вам большое! Видео я смотрела без звука, потому что не знаю английского языка. И без звука всё очень понятно. Благодаря Вашему уроку я могу делать конверты любого размера.👍🏻
For thinner card stock, you will need to put some pressure on the blade as you are moving it - If you don't apply any pressure to the ruler and just hold the paper and pull the trimmer from left to right/ right to left, you can get some feathering. To achieve a clean cut, we would suggest holding the ruler when trimming as opposed to the paper! I hope that helps!
It will cut thicker card but it depends on a few factors in terms of how much pressure you put on the blade and how many passes you do. You may find you are able to cut thinner cardboard with it although chipboard may not be possible. We appreciate your feedback, however, and will feed it back to our team! :)
I received mine and was disappointed. The concept is great, however I think the design is somewhat flawed with regard to the ability to see the numbers on the white part of the board clearly. I was debating on returning it, as I just found trying to easily read the numbers frustrating. My husband painstakingly painted all of the numbers black, now it’s a useful tool. Why the designers didn’t think of this is mind boggling. The blue ruler has black numbers, so why not the numbers on the white board?
I was excited when I saw the video and purchased one without trying it first I was very disappointed once I got home and used it. The numbers are very difficult to see the scoreboard doesn’t allow you to score for a full 12 inches you can’t cut anything smaller than an inch doesn’t hold the paper very well and my punches keep falling out.
Thank you so much. This tool takes the best of all the different score/envelope boards and puts them together in the most user friendly way. I particularly love your solution to the Imperial/Metric dilemma. For a brief overview, you answered all the questions. Thanks again.
Oh noooooooo........... I've just bought the W R Memory Keepers all in one tool for almost the same price as this one, but this seems to be a better tool. Wow... :(
It may look similar at first glance but you'll see there are some fantastic features that puts it ahead of some of the other scoreboards and trimmers out there! ;) The Universal measuring system, the integrated but removable punches, the metal rail, the way the blade is easily replaced just to name a few! 😊👍
This harks back to the old Martha Stewart scoring board, you just attached a trimmer. The old school Martha Stewart board also made boxes and envelopes but in a less complicated more intuitive way. Sadly, I’m disappointed, I think you are trying to reinvent the wheel.
The numbers are etched white on white and very hard to see when you are trying to score or cut. While the box and envelope trick might our you, don't be caught here. We R Memory envelope punch board does it better and Fiskars, does a great rotary trimmer. It sees convenient but is very hard to use to score and trim. Sorry, Sizzix you blew it with the ruler etching and the flimsy green piece
@@rhondam8935 There are rulers on the tool itself - if you watch the video, you can see that there's a ruler both at the top when it's in trimming mode and the cutting tool also has a ruler!
I thought Sizzix was a US company so I am a little confused following this video - using cms & A something paper? I wish we used metric but we don’t so it would have been more helpful using standard US measurements.
We are based with offices in both the US and the UK and our products are available world-wide! You'll be happy to know that our Scoring Board and Trimmer has a Universal Measuring tool which means it's very easy to swap from metric to imperial - both the ruler and the scoring board have both measurements on them to make it easier to use in whatever units you feel most comfortable using :)
Too complicated, and i don't want to go to the internet for the coordinates. I have looked at five different enelope--box makers. This one would make me more confused than the one i have! Very well engineered though. Great video for those who think like an engineer. Great guy toy.
You want to make sure you're holding the plastic part of the cutting arm (rather than just holding the paper) and putting a bit of pressure on the blade (more pressure for thicker stock) when cutting. I hope this helps! If not, please contact our Customer Service team who will be happy to help!
Hi I think you need to adjust your lighting, maybe change the table to a light blue/grey also. It's hard to watch you demonstrating, really hard on one's eyes, it's just glaring. I had to turn off.
No spare blade on my board… and after just a few weeks use, it shreds my cardstock so I have to get back to my old cheap board. The numbers are unreadable so I have had to mark them myself. The 45 degree is so wobbly, doesnt click in place like 60 degrees so my envelopes are not straight and I have to hold it on 45 degree manually. Not worth the money, way too expensive! Very disappointed! 😢

I did exactly that I added a sharpie to make the number seen and now a brand new bar that I paid $65 for it looks terrible would not recommend this
VERY NICE TIMMER HOWEVER THINKING OF RETURNING IT. VERY difficult to read the ruler on the white plastic portion. what were they thinking. the ruler reading part should of been green like the top ruler.. hope they come out with a sticker solution so it's legible
Thank you for your feedback, we'll pass it onto out engineering team.
Ingenious,! Well done!
@@sizzixthey are impossible to see in any light, I had to mark them black myself…
Thank you so much for your lovely feedback, we hope you manage to get your hands on one, tag us in your makes, we'd love to see what you're creating.
Agree, there should be possible to lift up the entire knife-line…
@@sizzixstill cardstock doesn’t fit for the larger sizes for the first score. Make it possible to lift the entire knife-line and problem is solved.
❤ that it’s so many tools in one that will allow me to work in metric and imperial!
Very beautiful sizzix operating multifunction board ! 😊🥰👍
Thank you so much for your feedback! We'll definitely feed this back to our designers :)
I bought one a couple of months ago but hadn't used it yet. Now im excited to get it out and play!!❤❤
So pleased to hear that! Happy Crafting! :)
Fabulous!!! Ordered mine!
I really need this piece of Sizzix kit. My maths and instruction following has become terrible as I’ve got older😅
I’ve bought one 😊
Well .... how about me wanting to measure, score or cut someting small, like ½" or 1 /8" where do i do this????
Agree, this is a huge fault with the blank space close to the knife. I have to keep another cutting board due to this.
Looks amazing. Can you please tell me what the largest box/card measurements you can make are? Thank you and have a lovely day
12" x 12" card stock would be the largest size!
@@sizzix Thank you 🙂
Recieved mine on the 16 th march im gong to put tools that trim abd score and that too one side snd get into using this item instead
This looks like a great product. I wish Sizzix made a portable spiral binding machine 📒
Great product!! Can’t wait to use it. 💖💖
What are the sizes of the Christmas tree boxes you made. They look lovely as a decoration.
Thank you for your kind comment, we just love this as a decoration too :)
All of the boxes for the Christmas tree are 3cm deep then they are 2cm, 4cm, 6cm, 8cm and 10cm square. The trunk is 3cm deep by 4cm square. Hope this helps you!
Wish I’d seen this a month ago, before I bought my new trimmer. 😢
Here are the two videos:

Wow! it condenses many tools in one. Less clutter in my craft room.
Hi, it looks like a great all together product. I work in nd obviously ¹/8," ²/8". Do the scoring lines work in the latter inches, so i can score down if i need to work in the latter?
Yes, the scoring board flips over so that the score lines are in 1/8" increments if you would like to work with imperial measurements!
Waiting for mine to be delivered
🤩Such a great tool!👍
Under which order number/article number can I order the replacement blades?
For replacement blades, please search for Product #666378 online or ask for this product number at your local retailer!
@@sizzix Thank you!🌼
Does it have 8th and 16th measurements?
It does indeed! :)
Is it possible to make reinforced boxes, in which each side is folded twice to add strength?
I’d love to hear the answer to that too?
It's entirely possible! You'd simply need to add on the addition width measurement to the size of your box and create the additional scoreline to allow for the fold :)
wow. what an awesome product.
Hi looks nice, I love that it is a metric board too! Is it a rotary knife and the ruler on the knifesite is it metric too?
It's a blade! If you go to 01:20 you'll see more information! The ruler on the trimmer has both imperial and metric units :)
Sold !!! Now please stop showing me stuff Pete 😂😂😂😂🤗🤗
where did you find your measurements for your box after you measured your book?? the QR code only brings envelope sizes up in both pictures!!!
Thx.
The universal measuring really is a game changer! We're so pleased you're excited and we'll be passing on your lovely feedback to Pete :D xx

I was told that the board cannot cut 1 or 2 centimetres since it's starts to count on 3, is that right?
You are able to cut 1 or 2 centimeters on this tool, all you have to do is mark out the measurement on your cardstock first before placing under the blade.
Hi could you please show how to make gift bags with this tool please

Are there any trimmers designed for left handers out there?
We'll be sure to pass this onto our design team.
Can’t see the measurement at the top for scoring? How do you know where you are scoring?
I make a semi circle on two sides for easy opening!
hello :) -- this tool looks great :) ...
What gives?

I just got it. The blade does not trim clean.?
For thinner card stock, you will need to put some pressure on the blade as you are moving it - If you don't apply any pressure to the ruler and just hold the paper and pull the trimmer from left to right/ right to left, you can get some feathering. To achieve a clean cut, we would suggest holding the ruler when trimming as opposed to the paper! I hope that helps!
I want this! ❤
I want one but it will be perfect if it can cut a cardboard or chipboard aswell maybe a seperate blade for it.
It will cut thicker card but it depends on a few factors in terms of how much pressure you put on the blade and how many passes you do. You may find you are able to cut thinner cardboard with it although chipboard may not be possible. We appreciate your feedback, however, and will feed it back to our team! :)
Nice tool!
Totally agree!
Some people thought it was boring. It's because there was no enthusiasm with the demonstration to keep your attention, to want to buy. Nice product.

It should be coming next month to HSN - keep your eye out for the date and time :)
Thank you so much. This tool takes the best of all the different score/envelope boards and puts them together in the most user friendly way. I particularly love your solution to the Imperial/Metric dilemma. For a brief overview, you answered all the questions. Thanks again.

NICE!!!
While l like that everything is together, I don't like that the blade isn't😢 self sharpening
Appreciate the feedback! Replacement blades are available, however and are easy to swap out quickly and safely! :)
Did I miss something? Does the cutting board extend out to 12 inches for our 12x12 paper?
You can use 12x12 paper using this tool! There's no extension needed :)
How can I cut a 12x12 paper to 11x12 (for instance) if I don't have a ruler that shows the size of the paper?@@sizzix
@@rhondam8935 There are rulers on the tool itself - if you watch the video, you can see that there's a ruler both at the top when it's in trimming mode and the cutting tool also has a ruler!
Bonjour les explications en français merci
I thought Sizzix was a US company so I am a little confused following this video - using cms & A something paper? I wish we used metric but we don’t so it would have been more helpful using standard US measurements.
We are based with offices in both the US and the UK and our products are available world-wide! You'll be happy to know that our Scoring Board and Trimmer has a Universal Measuring tool which means it's very easy to swap from metric to imperial - both the ruler and the scoring board have both measurements on them to make it easier to use in whatever units you feel most comfortable using :)
This seems confusing to me. Maybe it takes practice...
It seems more complicated than it really is and definitely gets easier with practice! :)
Too complicated, and i don't want to go to the internet for the coordinates. I have looked at five different enelope--box makers. This one would make me more confused than the one i have! Very well engineered though. Great video for those who think like an engineer. Great guy toy.
Why is my new tool not cutting well…very disappointed
You want to make sure you're holding the plastic part of the cutting arm (rather than just holding the paper) and putting a bit of pressure on the blade (more pressure for thicker stock) when cutting. I hope this helps! If not, please contact our Customer Service team who will be happy to help!
Hi I think you need to adjust your lighting, maybe change the table to a light blue/grey also. It's hard to watch you demonstrating, really hard on one's eyes, it's just glaring. I had to turn off.

Delightfully lovely ❤
No spare blade on my board… and after just a few weeks use, it shreds my cardstock so I have to get back to my old cheap board. The numbers are unreadable so I have had to mark them myself. The 45 degree is so wobbly, doesnt click in place like 60 degrees so my envelopes are not straight and I have to hold it on 45 degree manually. Not worth the money, way too expensive!
