  • Finally I'm changing the water pump and timing belt on the 1994 Volvo 480 2litre. This is the first timing belt I've ever changed so it was nervous but following the guides and taking time it was a success!
    Long video, but I show all the steps I did changing the belt and water pump.

    that old belt looked brand new!

      Yeah, it was in surprisingly good condition.
      Back when I got the car, it'd been abandoned in an old car garage, unknown why it was in and for what job so who knows it may have just been fitted!

    Nice work Andy. I'm just weighing up doing mine at the moment. Mines the 1.7 though, and not finding much on it with regards to instructional stuff. Do you think the process is the same on the 2.0 as the 1.7? Thanks for the video!

      Hiya, I'm not sure how similar they are, I'd have a guess fairly similar when it comes to timing belt method though. Mine is the B20F engine if it helps to compare using that, take a look at www.volvoclub.org.uk/history/engines/volvo_engines.shtml and see what yours is on the table and compare. Good luck and let me know how you get on
