- New York Rangers could look to add a top 6 caliber forward in free agency who also provides not only a good offensive punch but has a solid physical ability to their game. There isn't an abundance of these players in free agency and the ones that are will be very sought after by most teams.

I just think that the Rangers having so many come from behind victories this year was a detriment to the team. It seemed like, in the playoffs, that they still expected to win instead of upping up the intensity or urgency in their game. I also blame the coaching for the same reasons and not coming up with a better game plan
Once Fla switched to more skilled players instead of the hitters Rempe should've been out of the lineup. Why double shift everyone when there's no need to, and if the dmen were as injured as they claim why not play a 7th man instead of the extra forward if they're getting double shifted anyway? There's a lot that doesn't make sense imo
i also think you can hide defensive deficiences bhind a Vezina goalie, and against average competition. NOT in the playoffs however.
It just shows how bad they are getting a lead and protecting it!
@@BillyAu Mostly this year, they hardly lost leads, they were typically behind the whole game, in those games. They are just bad 5v5
Plain old out physicaled. Rangers caliber of player couldn’t step it up any notch, because they don’t have that type of player. What they need going forward is to get bigger and d more physical. Not just one addition either. They need to draft differently to change this culture. Lastly, they lost for the same reasons they lost in the past. Playing against tougher, bigger, physical teams. They are simply not built for that. During the season it’s a game here, a game there. You can steal one. In a series, you ain’t getting away with that.

Definitely not Perron. We saw them make that mistake with wheeler this season. They need a big guy who is fast and physical
I’d stay clean if Perron unless it’s 3m and mantha has to many issues.
I feel like mantha would be a great fit but I’ve heard lav wasn’t a fan of him in Washington. Idk if there’s any truth to that though
We the Fans want a Cup Win soon and at the same time we do not want the hiring of any player that is inconsistent as we had for the last 2 seasons. We need players with hunger on their faces to give the Rangers the opportunity of winning the cup maybe 2 of the six seasons. We are on the right track so choose and trade wisely.
id rather us take a good defensive forward and put him on a line with trocheck and panarin, moving laf up to that top line. i know thats something a lot of people wont like, but as good as that line was offensively, it was a defensive liability, especially in the playoffs. putting laf with kreider and mika could give them the jump that theyve been needing ever since buchnevich left. if it doesnt work out, then put that line back together, but we need a RW1 very badly, and laf is a guy who we know can do well there.
Get me Bertuzzi, Domi and a C to replace Chytil.
If the oilers get swept the rangers should make a move for Leon.
I’ve seen enough of Zibanejad, not winning the Cup with him. The finesse style of the team offensively needs to change and he has to go to accomplish that.

I would maybe think Drury has his eyes on Patrick Laine. I would think Rangers can Trade Kakko and Trouba and get Laine. I think both teams benefit nicely. We open up more roster space for the kids and get rid of the wasted space also maybe they can give Matthew Robertson a chance.
NO to Laine. Whatever talent he may have, he is a head case who hasn’t fit anywhere he has been.

I think its been proven, by FL and TB, that 6'-6'2" guys are NOT the size that is gonna put Rangers over the top. We have Krieds, Mika, Panarin, Chytil, Kakko, all taller than 6', and what is missing is GRIT. Krieds and Kakko should have had more. Wheeler was 6'5" and did NOTHING grit wise. If we are going to add more 6 footers, team will never win anything. We have ENOUGH, especially on Defense. Jones, Lindgren, Gustafsson, Ruedel, are all expendable. Only on shorty worth keeping is Fox. Is Matt Robertson still with the team? Give Edstrom and Rempe some minutes on 4th line. Put Goodrow at center of 4th line between those 2. Give KAndre some self defense courses. Teach him how to take the body, or step aside (which is what he usually does). How did those high scoring 6 ft forwards of the Oilers do so far against FL? or ours for that matter?
YES you are right but when i see size i want physicality and watching the Rangers get chewed up and spit out by Florida along the boards was not a sight to be proud of and the only player that sent a message to Florida to keep away from him was Igor.
They lack sound defense and physicality. Wich you need to win a cup.
@@mike8099m Totally agree. Fox WAY overrated defensively, and paired with scoreless wonder, the don't make a good Def #1 and then its downhill from there. Lindgren is overmatched physically against power forwards who abound in the playoffs/

@@brianwynne2352 Absolutely, because our "franchise" Dman isn't that good on D. Nice offensive piece, he was the Ranger with most PPP, so he's nice weapon on O, but he and Lindy don't cut it as #1 pairing. That has to be addressed or the Playoff stompings will continue. Miller is also another overrated dude who takes weeks off at a time.
The only one I like there as a third liner, not a first liner is DeBrusk. I'm more concerned about rebuilding that third line than getting a first line RW.

@@mike8099m Not if he wants that much. I'm not a huge FA guy because more often than not it's an overpay. I'd rather see Otthman & Berard come up. Maybe even Robertson too. Our future is Perrault.

I think something else that could benefit them is focusing on self care techniques like meditation, yoga, etc. I know that may sound strange but clearly there is a need for stronger focus and mindset
