thanks for the great review. as a owner of a megane e tech and id3 I say that renault is so much better in so many areas that I don t regret selling the id3 for the megane. if you suffer from range anxiety this car is the best at the moment thanks to google maps integrated and the 22 kw Ac charger. the quality of the interior is completely superior to the id3 id4 cupra ones

This is the type of reviewing I've been looking for in car review channels. Absolutely brilliant presenter too.

Thank you for the comprehensive review. As you were polite not mention the milage I will do it for you, the average real world range people seem to be getting is 200 miles per charge. That is more than enough for me so test driving one next week.

A very comprehensive review . I learned various things from this review that I have not seen in other reviews. As a launch edition owner I have watched before and after purchase many reviews so hats off to you sir this was a very good and informative review. I love my e-tech it's a cracking car and charges faster on a type 2 connector than many other cars including some Tesla's It's a plus point often missed. Thanks again for a very informative review

Hello, may I ask if these type 2 chargers you mention are included in the charging info one gets from various Apps?

    A superb review....Well done!
I've just ordered the Top-of the -Range Iconic model in th UK (with that excellent Heat Pump). It was a straight choice between a Tesla Model 3 or the Megane, both were the same price.....No contest!
The sterile, poor build quality, horrid interior, ugly Tesla is so dated compared to the Renault. It's tech is so 'yesterday'. Brilliant move by Renault going to the experts, Google!
By the way, Renault say the 0-60 time is 7.5 Sec, but independent reviewers have clocked it at 6.9 Sec (that's Mini Cooper S territory, but with that lovely instant torque).......how typically French, underplaying!

Awesome! How are you doing with the car now? I also bought mine, the same as you and I AM LOVING IT! Already 4 months with the car and I love it!

@@imparable Right there with you brother.
I absolutely love every minute in it. It's the Best EV I've had, and that includes my Tesla's.
What's the difference between this and other EV's in the same bracket (including Tesla & Polestar)?......Lightyears!
First, it weighs little more than an Audi T sports car, thanks to the use of Aluminum and Carbon Fibre in its construction (only the Mini and Fiat 500 are lighter). This helps with the old-school hot-hatch handling, and very importantly, the range. It's listed as 280 miles, but I get 300 out of mine. OK, I drive it in Eco, and 'feather' the accelerator, not normally taking it above 50-55mph.
I would've liked a panoramic roof, but Renault told me their goal was to lighten the car as much as possible, and this would've added too much weight. The same with a powered tailgate and seats.
It is beautifully built and the interior is such high quality. Puts most other EV's in the shade, and they look so cheap you can tell they've cut corners & cost.....(Don't get me started on my Tesla's!).
It was genius turning to Google for the Tech. Phone tech is the most advanced and updated on the planet.
Finally, just look at it!..... Sacre Bleu!...... Oh so French!

What about updating car software system? Is it easy like Tesla?

Bought a Techno version at launch right at end of 2022. Initially regretted its purchase. The cold weather really dented it’s range. Driving I was constantly looking at how many miles per kWh it was doing and not enjoying the driving experience. I suffered extreme range anxiety. 4 months on, it’s a great car, still have range anxiety but not so acute. Their needs to be far better charging infrastructure. Planning a summer cottage rental, severe lack of EV infrastructure makes planning tours an additional burden. In summary, great car but for me moving to an EV probably too early.

Concentrate on Ionity Charges (equivalent to Tesla superchargers), Gridserve, Osprey and Instavolt and that'll have you covered 👍

Renault's car design never fails. It's a beautiful car. I, personally don't like this color, still, it looks good.
Great video as always, informative and interesting.

I’m thinking of having one of these next year. But I’m still bothered about the charging infrastructure.

Well I got rid of my range anxiety, I part exchanged my Megane E Tech for a Austral Techno Alpine E Tech full hybrid. Had it a week and I actually enjoy driving again, just looking for excuses to take it out. Interior is a major step up from the Megane, full infotainment screen, full ambient lighting, better upholstery in fact, for me, better in every respect. I now have complete control over my route planning, I can go where I want to go and not on where the chargers are located.

My issues with the Megane are: poor rear visibility, lack of heat pump option on early orders, limited battery capacity (one size), smaller 9 inch main screen, rear seat bench poor thigh support.

Don't just focus on the negative points bud. Yes, rear viability is not all that great, but you have a fantastic camera and f/r parking sensors. A heat pump is available on the Iconic model (might be available across the range later). The battery is excellent, lightweight for a nearly 300 mile range. Why lug heavy batteries around sapping your range!? It's doing the variables so coming up with the best compromise. I drove the Polestar as a comparison, but that car is so heavy that I'm not sure it will get anywhere near its range!
This car is the lightest in class using Aluminium and Carbon Fibre along with steel.
