    To anyone who is doubtful, I made 11 sales in 2 months basically doing nothing. I ran very little ads at the beginning but the rest has been organic traffic. SEO is very important. I’m also ranking on the first page for one of my listings. I don’t have much advice as I’m kind of new to selling on Etsy, but I will say DON’T GIVE UP!

    Hi! What are your thoughts on having a store that sells several different types of items? i.e. POD, digital downloads AND physical product? I have an Etsy shop that is established (still trying to grow more rapidly) but i have lots of great reviews, star seller, etc. I've heard it's a bad Idea to mix - but I'm curious what your thoughts are.

    I'm wondering how people are selling items at such a low price. I've seen POD shirts selling for like 8 dollars.. Which is often close to the price of the shirt itself on printify. Once you add in the Etsy fees per sale, how are they making a profit? I have to price higher to make a profit, am I missing something?

      They probably aren’t POD. They probably print them. Or they come from China. Or they sell so many in a day they only need to make $1 from each one.

      They sell at a loss in order to gain the ranking levels. Eventually they'll up their prices to profit, but its a very long game and they're betting on running long enough to do it. Tbh it's also possible they're faking some of those sales; not every seller is doing things honestly. That's why I never trust spy stats like 'this shop makes 456 sales a month' - you have NO idea how they got those sales, or if they were to real people. 🤔 🤷

      It depends! A few factors can play a part… so a few things to keep in mind:
      1.) price click-bait
      Many sellers on Etsy will create multiple “variants” on their products so that Etsy will show a low price and once you pick the color option, size, etc, the price will raise significantly! ( to the actual price they’re selling)
      They also may be hiding profit in their shipping prices!so just be aware of that when doing price research
      2.) lower quality products
      The products they’re listing may be from a different supplier at a lower quality so it may not reflect properly!
      3.) they may be making the products themselves! While holding inventory is more risky, you can typically charge less as they’re receiving the products in bulk and maybe making them all on their own!
      Try not to compare too much and focus more on quality listings that reach the right buyer
      I recommend charging what you feel is best to make a profit and remembering it’s okay to start at the lowest price possible and raise as a demand is given! I also recommend joining Printify premium as this lowers your product cost if you are selling and listing multiple items!
      You can use code “Makpremium” for a coupon with new users 🎉

    Hi Max! I have a question 🙋‍♀️ how do we make personalize designs on printify? For example how do I list as customizable and get information on how they want it, and can you show us how to take that info and make it on Shopify please

    • @moneywithmak
      @moneywithmak  5 месяцев назад +5

      Hi! I use HelloCustom to do automate the personalization for my Etsy shop. They’re not available yet on Shopify just yet but they are working on it to be available soon:)
      If you don’t use an automation tool, you will have to duplicate and manually change the design within Printify each time for a custom product! It seems like a lot but once you get the hang of it, it works! There’s a video of that on my channel just search” custom” and it should come up!

    I've considered candles but what is your take on liability ins etc?

    • @moneywithmak
      @moneywithmak  5 месяцев назад +1

      The candles have warning labels and instructions on them from Printify and the manufacturer so you are generally protected with this! However, yes, things can happen so if you feel uncomfortable selling a product like this, I’d recommend reaching out to Printify or whatever print provider to hear how they would help advise you if something happened or just try to pick another product to sell because there’s so many options!

    How hard is it to get buyers when you’re completely new and have no reviews? I’d assume most people purchase from those who have reviews to rely on. Thanks girl for alll the helpful information! Wishing you continued success!

    • @moneywithmak
      @moneywithmak  5 месяцев назад +5

      It can be difficult at first! But your first sale is your hardest and then it’s only up from there!
      I recommend asking a friend or family member to purchase on your store and leave you a review:) or you can run a very generous sale for your new shop launch!

    hello... a couple of questions....first off, can we get married? lol jk, I think this video is great...im wanting your opinion of things made out of epoxy wood, you have made the point that personalization is key...I truly think you are right, should I try to stick to smaller, cheaper items, or more expensive ones?

    • @moneywithmak
      @moneywithmak  4 месяца назад

      Hi! It’s great to offer more expensive items especially if the items you’re looking at are not as saturated and sold by other sellers! Just do your research to see the demand and make sure you price accordingly
      Sometimes the more expensive items have much better profit margins because people expect to pay more for nicer things

    Had Esty store for 8 months no sales now they took it down did not tell me why? all the time and money I put into it wasted. I wish you would stop promoting them they are changing, there policies and not safe source to place trust in them. I watched your videos saying they are not as good, but why still promote them when we know what is coming.

    • @moneywithmak
      @moneywithmak  5 месяцев назад +2

      Etsy is still a great platform to sell on. I have been selling on it for years and it’s a great option for beginners. I am always honest and transparent when it comes to fees, updates, suspensions and more. I also share about Amazon and Shopify because they are good options too.
      Due to Etsy being one of the biggest marketplaces, they unfortunately experience a lot of bots and spam so that comes with more restrictions in the newest updates to try and keep this off the platform. This doesn’t mean that people cannot still join and have a successful shop! It’s just about being aware of the policies to avoid suspension or issues.
      I just filmed a video about all the Etsy updates that have happened in the last few weeks. It will be on my channel soon to give more insight :)

    • @moneywithmak
      @moneywithmak  5 месяцев назад +1

      Anything can technically be saturated but it doesn’t mean you cannot sell it… niche down and have a target of who you want to sell too. Candles are less saturated than most apparel products or traditional mugs!

      Hi! I’m sorry to hear that to you it is “crap”
      I love to create content and share my experiences with selling online because RUclips was a huge part of how I became successful. I used to watch other peoples tutorials that were experiencing success in order to learn and feel inspired, all while watching for free.
      It makes me happy to share content like this and the more views I get, the more people I feel I can help to create another online income stream for themselves in such a tricky economy.
      Honestly, I would assume you are someone who is interested in learning if you had come to the video…so maybe try to flip your perspective on it or just choose not to watch mine or other videos like it :)
