I grew up in Humbolt when I was a kid. I learned to swim in the Scotia Pool and the Eel River. I dont get back there often but when I do it is a coming home experience. Good videos you make homeboy, thank you.
This is about the 3rd of your videos I've seen ? - you have great editing skills, and photography, drone shots and narration - you're doing a good job! I used to live in So Humboldt and I've visited Scotia. Cheers!
Appreciate the feedback. Moving forward I'm including more history. I'm learning as I go with the editing and the drone is a work in progress... thank you so much for watching... :) Dock
That original shopping center was destroyed by a massive earthquake in 1992. My father operated the old Winema Theatre as a movie house. He did it as a second job. His day job was in the forestry department of Palco.
People don't realize hall of fame baseball icons such as Joe Dimagio and Ted Williams played at the original Carpenters baseball field behind the mill.
Saw all the redwood logs and lumber on my way into Eureka in July. Nice job on editing historic photos with current footage to tell the story of Scotia.
Have you ever noticed the bridge of the old pre 64 highway on the north end of Avenue of the Giants? It parallels the new highway bridge over the Eel. Thats a cool little spot.
Are you referring to Dyerville at Founder's Grove? The bridge on the Avenue under the 101 I did on the Avenue of the Giant video a while back. ruclips.net/video/HGBTWGLdL04/видео.html
I read that but I couldn't figure out what year or when it operated as a bank. It's pretty heavy duty building.. thank you for your responses and thank you so much for watching... :) Dock
The Scotia Inn has been painted for as long as I have been alive. Dad use to give me 25 cents and I would ride my bike up to the inn to buy the Sunday issue of the SF paper.

Another cool video from Humboldt Axe. Very informative and interesting. I gotta get down there for a beer at the Wonder Bar sometime!
It's such a cool town, lots of history especially since it's the last of the company owned towns in the US. thank you so much for watching... :) Dock
