Honestly, I feel like Sp9rk1e had this kind of crazy burst of carry clips because it was specifically a Genji meta. Consider that almost no one has been playing Genji at all in pro level matches up until the last few weeks, where he suddenly became insanely strong. I'd bet that Sp9rk1e had been consistently grinding Genji even when he wasn't meta, which would lead to a huge practice difference between him and a large majority of other Genji players. Not saying he's not bonkers, that'd be an outright lie, but I doubt he'd be quite as completely unchallenged as he is if Genji had been decent for a while.
@@tomcrawford8326 Aye, but you have to consider that he was already playing somewhat off-meta, and he was also fighting significantly below his weight considering how talented he is. I wouldn't be surprised if he was playing a decent amount of Genji without necessarily running it in scrims and matches, especially considering how much more polished he looked in comparison to other Genji players who were doing extremely well (EQO looked good, but he was also previously one of the best Genji players in OWL and if I remember right, has been on and off the bench, which would give him some time to work on heroes that might become meta).
I would say in general such is life of a main tank. If you do your job in a good team, you're your efforts are invisible and if you do your job in a bad team, you die first and look like a complete feeder.
Damn, I remember watching that Power Ranking video back then, and it triggered me so much I just didn't watch the rest of the video. I'm so proud of our boys for showing what they're truly made of. (btw hug for fielder
I’ve been waiting for this moment since the franchise was announced. They’re basically France’s national eSports team at this point - everyone I know popped off in a way only French people can. edit: go watch the French casters’ reactions. “C’EST FAIIIIIIIIIITTTTT” “PARIS ETERRRNAALLLLLL” “PARIS!!” “MON DIEU!” and more.
Paris probably saw the power rankings earlier in the year and decided to flex just to piss in Dividing's cheerios 👌🤣 . Seriously tho, the boys did a fantastic run through the summer showdown and apart from Sp9rk1e 's stellar performances on Genji, the entire team stepped up like crazy and Benbest is in my opinion one of if not the most redeemed main tank in NA so far. Also Fielder being alone in Korea is kinda sad, the dude pretty much flexes on the competition so far with 200 ping and I can't help but wonder how he'll fare when he plays in glorious double digit ping instead of triple.
That fielder sleep hurts to watch. He single handily won that map and the game for Paris. If that nano would have connected fuel would have forced a game 5. Dude is fucking nuts.
ironically their support line was their weakest part which you could have used in your earlier arguments. credit to eternal for picking up fielder, trading kruise, and dropping grey and hyp early on in the season. this team is on a whole other level now.
That preseason take on Paris wasnt even that bad at the time. Benbest and Nosmite were a terrible main tank lineup going into the season. Nosmite was awful last year and Benbest was mid tier at BEST. Theres no way you could know that FDGod would pop off so hard on Lucio, everyone thought Kruise would start. Not to mention that Paris did stay about equal in wins and losses until Sp9rk1e came in, they were like 8-6.
yes it was, it was really bad. As a paris fan i can assure you that with all the informations we had in the off season, it was obvious paris would be a really good team. The low ranking of paris was just indicative of the misinformation, as they weren't following the team as close not being a fan. Every french fan knew how good fdgod was since the world cup, where he was excellent, every fan knew he would start over kruise. I'm not blaming, most of the information went from the players themselves speaking in french in interviews and such, so it was hard to get an objective idea with only basing on the season 2 results and speculation. With only two dps available and the successive leaves of both hyp grey and kruise was obviously hard to deal with. For a month they were at their lowest, so it's not really fair to judge them on this period. And yet they still pulled through.
If this is Sp9rk1e in a Genji meta, imagine a Doomfist meta.

I feel bad for BenBest. He perfectly sets up all these big plays for his teammates, but he rarely gets the spot in the limelight.
Such is the life of the Orisa player

@@YominTheUltimate the sado syndrome has passed to the whole league rip
Damn you were pretty spot on with those predictions
2.18 What a harmonized reaction to Sparkle's play from both casters(Jake and Zp)

I will not stop mentioning that Fielder has been playing on 200 ping and away from his team ever since he joined Paris, and has been playing fantastic
Another high quality video you deserve a lot more subs
Gg Paris Eternal
The clip of nosmite chillin by himself as rein is one of my favorite. BUT having the announcers in sink say sparkle! is better

Sp9rk1e did not solo carried, saying that is disrespectful to the whole team performance.
