Have you seen any of these special effects? Which one is your favourite?

As an American who has only been to Disneyland (and disneyworld twice) it’s great to see a channel on the rise that gives a great impression of what the other parks are like, this case being the Japan parks! It’s really awesome to me, I’ve always wanted to know more about the “foreign” parks, and this is a great way to fulfill that want! Keep it up, you’re doing great

Thanks so much friend! It’s crazy how little information there is about these parks, so that’s exactly what my goal is for this channel!!

You have made me realise how much I missed the first time I went to Disneysea, I’m def going back. Thanks for another great content.

It’s a very special park and every inch of it is full of detail, so there’s a lot to miss!
I hope you can make it back here some time, thanks for the kind words

Long reply, but this video was so great! I think it’s cool how they make 20,00 Leagues Under the Sea look like it’s underwater with effects. As someone who’s a huge fan of the 1954 Disney film, I do wish it was themed more to that. I’m only 26, and didn’t visit Walt Disney World until 2000 so I sadly missed 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea when it was at Magic Kingdom.
I also love that Buddy Baker contributed to Journey to the Center of the Earth score, I’ve heard lots of great things about this attraction including here on your channel so it sounds like a great finale to his near half a century long Disney career.
A third Tokyo Disney park sounds wonderful! I just hope that The Oriental Land Company does what they’ve been doing in 1. Not using any Iger acquired IP and 2. making original projects and attractions themed on Disney productions before Iger like Peter Pan and Beauty and the Beast.
The Little Mermaid is actually my favorite Disney Renaissance film, I adore the film so much that I’ve actually met Jodi Benson the voice of Ariel six times, so I loved seeing you talk about Mermaid Lagoon! I assume you are aware that The Little Mermaid show at Hollywood Studios is being updated and returning soon after around four years closed so maybe the theater will return here soon.
I’ve done Turtle Talk with Crush at Epcot, so I was already planning on skipping it whenever I come, so I’m glad you recommended doing so!
Does that mean you only first went to Tokyo Disneyland within the past seven years then if Nemo & Friends Searider was brand new when you first came to Tokyo DisneySea?
Also you snuck in Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast! I want to go on it so much! 😂

Very glad we have 20,000 leagues, it’s not my favourite but it’s such a unique ride it really adds a lot to the park. Buddy Baker is the man and Journey could easily be his magnum opus.
Ah that’s where we disagree, I think a third park is a perfect place to put marvel, avatar, and more modern IP. I think it would give it a very modern and unique style that would compliment the other two parks well. Sort of TDR’s Epic Universe. Anyway I’m sure we’re a decade or 2 away from even announcing that so who knows what will be popular then.
Six times?! Incredible!! One of the few remaining expansion pads at DisneySea is behind the old Ariel meeting spot, where they recently moved some buildings to make more space. Lots of rumours of a new little mermaid ride coming there at some point, which would be incredible!
And yep. My first visit was 2017, and then I moved here in 2019. Thanks for watching!

@@8bitthemepark I’d absolutely love to see a new The Little Mermaid ride! I love Under the Sea Journey of The Little Mermaid and Ariel’s Undersea Adventure, but I have no doubt that The Oriental Land Company could build a better The Little Mermaid ride. If it’s announced before 2028, then I’m such a big fan of The Little Mermaid I might have to wait until it opens to go! 😂
And yep! I did two video chats with Jodi Benson in 2020, I saw her three days in a row at a convention called GalaxyCon in July 2021, and she did a discussion when I was in the Disney College Program in November 2022 and I saw her right after that at a Barnes & Noble for a book signing a few hours later on the same day!

@ryanstreasures2491 I’ve heard that OLC weren’t impressed with Undersea Adventure. I like it too but it’s easy to see how it might not meet their standards. I hope they do go for an Omnimover though because DisneySea really needs more high capacity rides!

@@8bitthemepark Ariel’s Undersea Adventure is probably my favorite attraction that the American Disney Parks have gotten after Expedition Everest. (As Gran Fiesta Tour was a retheme of an attraction that opened with Epcot in 1982.) However I’ll admit to being biased there as a huge The Little Mermaid fan and not a fan of Iger’s acquired IP.
I bet that you can confirm that Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast is a better ride and I’d love to see them open a The Little Mermaid ride on the same level.

The glowing wall! They've had that at the Seattle Science Center for decades and it's one of my favorite things there. :)

The Disneyland (Anaheim) Indiana Jones ride got a huge refurb and they fixed the projected bugs in the headlights scene and even added two new effects/scenes!

Hey Nate thanks for watching! Did you spot your cameo? 😜
I really hope we get some updates too, but OLC don’t usually change things unless they can market it.

Videos are amazing! Just a heads up the S.E.A technically started at the Bar in pleasure island (now Disney springs in Florida) back in the 90's and they expanded it with Disney sea!

Thanks I’m so glad you enjoyed it!
I know it was strongly inspired the Adventurer’s Club but I think that was retconned in. I don’t think the name ‘Society of Explorers and Adventurers’ came up until Fortress Explorations at DisneySEA. Then again, I never got to do Adventurer’s Club so I could be way off!

12:02 Can you confirm or deny that the painting actually gets transparent and the "3D effect" is actually a glance at a physical model behind it?
Also I didn't know about the glowing wall, but I got to try one in Paris at the Paradox Museum (those kind of illusion museum). I guess there are plenty in the world but this is the first one I see being integrated as theming!

    • @8bitthemepark
      @8bitthemepark  6 месяцев назад +1

Not a physical model but you’re on the right track. It’s like layers of projections. Seen this kind of effect in a few places but never as eye popping as this one.
Ooh one in Paris too, cool! Yeah having this one be hidden away in a cave with no explanation adds so much to the experience.
