It totally depends on how much time you give and how you strategize your preparation. In my opinion 6-8 months is more than enough to crack the exam. Since you are doing M.A. it's better you prepare it side by side since the syllabus is the same.

I have heard that even after qualifying NET we cannot join as Asst professor..or there r no vacancies we have to wait for years & hv to pursue other degrees or PhD to get a job...plz guide me about this
