First time watching you. So glad to have found this. I've been reselling, part time since the late '90's. Now retired I was trying to find something different, other than the "so many items a day." I already know that selling higher priced items, gave me a great return for the number of items that I have listed. This dollar amount makes so much more sense! Great test that you did and really substantial outcome information that you gave. Thank you! I'll be shooting for a lower amount, being only one person. However.....I'm starting today! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! ( I've subscribed and will be a faithful viewer!) 🤑😊❤
Oh my goodness. I just found you two. I clicked on you because of the title and now I’m hooked. Your content and format is enjoyable. I love the way you go back and forth with all the info you put out. (You mix the meat and potatoes with sales, past events, and future highlights) And your banter back and forth is great. Keep up the great work.
It's good to have a goal, it's great to have an action plan to meet your goal! A goal without a plan is just a dream. Congrats on developing an action plan to make it a reality. I've been listing daily, every single day, no exceptions, to drive my goal to double my sales (and reduce my death pile). Historically, I binged listing, I might do 10 in one day, then nothing for a week. My "theory" is ebay rewards consistency and I was not consistent. So far, so good. I had my first $1,000 day two weeks ago. $500 goes out this morning. I do the same as you, I load up on drafts so I don't miss a day. So I don't "create" a listing or more every day. To me, this is just a hobby. My last highway sale was VERY disappointing! Turned out, it was not individuals having garage sales. Instead, people rented out their lawns, marked out booth space, and it was 200 miles of overpriced flea marketeers. I much prefer where it is people who just want to get rid of stuff (at a low price).
Would love to know how many "items per day" listed average this experiment ended up showing as a comparison to what everyone on RUclips talks about. Interesting to think about it as a $$ amt vs item amt. Very smart!
Hi Grams & Pops, I just saw your channel for the first time today also! I see in your comments a lot of us have watched for the first time! I wonder why RUclips pushed you two today for all of us to find!? I also see we all enjoyed and have subscribed! Thanks!
Listing by dollar amount is a good goal. I changed to that goal about 5 months ago. Since I am part time, I only have so much time, so I set the goal to be $100 a day every day. So far, it’s been working fairly well. We sell about $500-700 a week, some better some less than others, but I think having the goal made the difference. I also have about 20-30 days worth of drafts ahead of time which helps on keeping to the goal. Great advice and as always a great video. Thanks!
Hi, great info as far as what I'll be shooting for. ( $100 - $150 a day is doable as a part timer also.) I'm excited to start this instead of listing a specific number of items everyday. That didn't work for me. Since I try to sell higher end items this is a lot less to list on a daily basis. I can do this!
You're both at least partially correct about the Spoons. In the Industry, "Tablespoons" are usually Serving Spoons. They come in Solid and Pierced versions. "Soup Spoons" are also known as "Place Spoons", and typically come as part of a 5-pc Place setting-- Dinner Fork, Salad Fork, Dinner Knife, Soup Spoon, Teaspoon. The "Round Spoon" often seen in Restaurants is actually known as a "Bouillon Spoon" sometimes as a "Cream Soup Spoon". I personally like these for soups of all types . Hope this is helpful. The nomenclature issue can be a sticky problem. You need to sell like the market does, but you also need to match customer expectations.... so that you can clearly communicate to everyone without confusion. Great Video,m Guys!
Just say'in but I've always used my round "soup" spoons just for consuming soup or stews. I've used my "table" spoons for eating cereal and desserts. I've also used my tablespoons as serving ware. Of course, you could always use your tablespoons to consume stews as well. I have some large soup spoons that are the size of a tablespoon in length. A little larger than your traditional size soup spoon. And they seem to be a favorite when I serve stew, or a hearty soup to my husband. Teaspoons are the perfect size for adding sugar to tea or coffee and they are also the perfect size for stirring your hot beverages.
This has been interesting and valuable info! It makes so much sense to list by $$ instead of number of items. You guys just popped up in my recommendations and i already subbed.
I just coordinated a 14 mile Yard Sale. It was our first year and we had 37 participants! I thought that was amazing for a 1st annual Route 62. We live in a VERY rural area!
I'd like to know how often you accepted offers since items sold this way would reduce your total listed to less than $500. Whatever your margin for offers is you could add to your total daily listed amount.
You guys rocked that average! $500/day is higher than my starting goal will be, I think it's a great way to quantify efforts instead of number of items.
Just found you guys! This is awesome second time I see someone listing by amount. Makes me think even though I'm not a big ebay seller. Love this video ❤thank you
All my life (long time) I have heard the largest of the spoons in a set are Tablespoons. Serving spoon (slotted or solid) were just serving spoons and were extra spoons in a set. Smaller spoons with the longer handles are teaspoons. The smaller spoons with shorter handles to me are soup spoons or dessert spoons. Love your channel.
Nice observation and great at the goal. Me i can only list and do pertime as i am dissabled and back issues. However... what i do make has increased by good margin. Keep up the great work.
Hello, enjoying your video.. wondering if you could say the category you are listing used perfume under? Collectible bottle? Tried listing some partial used perfume and ebay would not allow. Thank you in advance..
Quote of the video: "...so you don't have to know what you're selling to sell it." OMG! I'm rolling!😅 Just found you guys a second ago... I think I'm gonna be addicted, here.😊
Grams is correct it’s a place/oval soup spoon that’s part of a five piece place setting. Yes there are round soup spoons as well there’s also dessert spoons, five ‘o clock spoons and demitasse spoons depending on the pattern. A tablespoon is a serving spoon meant for the table and can be solid or pierced oh and sugar spoons, iced tea spoons and casserole spoons….
Backing up what is being said here. This is the most correct answer. Really though, the most simple solution is to just go off what Replacements is calling it. Even if it's not really a "soup spoon" or whatever the real function is, everyone uses the replacements database to identify their flatware. You get better SEO that way. ...and wait until Cory hears about desert forks. It may break him.
First time watching. I enjoyed the banter between the 2 of you. I'm sure it's been mentioned, but your process and systems seem to be spot on with neither of you working too hard. The easiest way i can see to get to your $1000 dollar a day goal would be to just source and list higher value items which would leave the amount of daily effort the same
Yes teaspoons are the smaller ones and tablespoons are the larger ones. We use the teaspoons to eat with and tablespoons to serve somethings but usually use larger specific serving spoons. The tablespoons are too big for me most everyone so would need a very large mouth to use those. I would consider soup spoons to be round too.
What a score with that VS body spray! Every time I've listed used fragrances they've always been taken down by ebay. They tell me that its against their policy to sell used fragrances. How are you guy getting away with it? Or is it that you guys got lucky and sold it fast enough before they caught it? Great job on the video and thanks for all the info. You guys are cute together!
Have you ever considered not sourcing together? Leaving one to work on listing and one person go sourcing, alternating between who sourcing and listing.
Curious to hear how the scavengers journey goes for you guys, I wanted to try it, but I did ok at local sales here on Saturday. Enjoyed the video as always.
Her knowledge of Tweaking matches that of flatware. Thats said, sit there and nod, smile and appreciate her! She's a keeper! Is she the Gram? She looks 16!
First time I am listening to you all. Great idea...I just started watching about 8 mins in. I am curious so with $500 listed a day..how does that work if you want to run a sale or send an offer? Is that something you all regularly do or just once in awhile? Does the $500 a day discourage from sending offers or doing a sale ? Thank you.
Question: at what sales price do you lose money? By that I mean for the amount of time it takes to source, research, list and pack an item what’s your break even. If you sell something for $4.99 what do you clear $3? Listing takes a couple of minutes, packing a few more, putting your item away a few more, retrieving the item a few more so if it takes 1/2 an hour to make $3 what’s the point when that half hour could have been used differently making more than $3.
The lower dollar items are stuff that we are typically knowledgeable on and takes us little time to list pick and pack. We have changed our listing habits lately and are not listing a lot of lower dollar items.
Superhero nerding... Batman is Gotham. Modeled after Chicago Superman is Metropolis. Modeled after New York (And Spiderman is Queens, NY. Modeled after Queens, NY.)
He’s right. They are called tablespoons. The smaller ones are teaspoons. Also called soup spoons. But definitely tablespoons. I was practically teethed on Emily Post.
you guys need a Va to list, i have mine for 2 years listing 60 a day. about $30k-$50k a month and i pay $33 a day for 8 hours which is good for thier country. i think Va will increase your income by alot. Great video.
A VA would be great, we’ve used them before for other jobs. For eBay we’d have to really get a process fine tuned and consider account security as well as quality control
$440 a day sounds like you hit the exact goal amount. Because when you're listing $500 a day you're not accounting for when you accept offers and returns. Because when you accept a offer you technically now didnt list $500 that day.
What's up with RUclips...?!? Several of the comments here show the word "Reply" in blue beneath the comment, but when I click on it NOTHING is there! Repeatedly! Very annoying when I am expecting to see someone's reply!

Thanks for following up on your experiment. I remember when you set that goal. And have fun on your trip. I hope you do well. ❤
Listen Linda!!! 😂😂😂 I have no idea what spoons are called but you guys are a riot!
Would love to know how many "items per day" listed average this experiment ended up showing as a comparison to what everyone on RUclips talks about. Interesting to think about it as a $$ amt vs item amt. Very smart!

You're not really supposed to be allowed to sell used beauty products on eBay but I see them listed all the time.
Thank you for info. We are thinking about making reselling a family business. Three generations.

Its a Siamese raccoon. Thanks for putting out another great video! The nugget about dollar listing instead of quantity listing is gold.
Awesome video, great idea thanks 👍.
I am going to tweak my listings and my buying now! Great video
I got a purple voodoo doll listed, after listing it my sale bottomed out, as well as my impressions
Might need to list a lucky rabbit foot to counter the voodoo!

First time watcher as well, looks like you have a lot of new people. You must have pleased the utube gods!😂
Have you ever considered not sourcing together? Leaving one to work on listing and one person go sourcing, alternating between who sourcing and listing.
We source together all the time as we both look for different things. It makes for better sourcing for us when you have 2 sets of eyes at a sale.
As others have mentioned, I would love to know how many items on average were listed per day.
I'm not saying she was wrong about teaspoons, soup spoons and tablespoons, but I will say he was so RIGHT!!!!
You guys crack me up. Love your videos
Curious to hear how the scavengers journey goes for you guys, I wanted to try it, but I did ok at local sales here on Saturday. Enjoyed the video as always.

Does anyone know what downpouring is?
eBay is life changer!
What were your average hours a day to keep to you at that level of production?
We typically take 2-3 days a week for listing about 5-6 hours each day. I draft a bunch and then release them as we need.
First time as well , appreciate the information, I am from Toronto.
Welcome to the channel!
Have you considered paying someone to list for you? I've often thought this might be an option for me. Any thoughts?
I am starting by listing only items valued at $30 or more
He’s correct about the spoons.
Awesome video

RUclips is seemingly screwed up... this is the 2nd comment for this video that shows a "Reply," but there isn't one!
What's up with THAT?
Ever After was about the children of famous fairy tale characters. Raven Queen was the daughter of the Evil Queen in Snow White.
FYI - Metropolis is the fictional home of Superman. Batman is based in Gotham City 😊
Superhero nerding...
Batman is Gotham. Modeled after Chicago
Superman is Metropolis. Modeled after New York
(And Spiderman is Queens, NY. Modeled after Queens, NY.)
I am not an 8 O’clock person either. LOL.
What is the per cent age of auction vs buy now??
We do primarily Buy It Now. We have never had luck with auctions so we tend to stay away from those.
We very rarely use the auction feature
Can you get the merchandise to meet your goals? Is the merchandise available in your area to meet your goal?
Absolutely, finding stuff is never an issue, it’s listing enough of it to keep from burring ourselves
I eat everything with a sundae spoon, its my favorite one! Lol
Laughed so hard really enjoyed video .
Thank you for watching!
He’s right. They are called tablespoons. The smaller ones are teaspoons. Also called soup spoons. But definitely tablespoons. I was practically teethed on Emily Post.
How far are you guys from Aberdeen south dakota?
We are about 2 hours & 20 minutes south of Aberdeen.
Table spoons are used to push food on to your fork
Lol

Sorry Grams, Pops is correct this time! 😂 but Grams thought process did make sense lol😊
He's right
Hello to my favorite non related Grams And Pops! 😊
Does your $500 include shipping? My husband and I just found your channel, thanks!
No, just the listed price. Welcome to the channel!
Metropolis is superman lol
Did you say that you listed 500 per day of inventory value and after a year, you are selling 500 per day in sales?
I was like maybe a bookworm instead of a bookknower? 😅
I sell Oneida as well and she is right :)
$440 a day sounds like you hit the exact goal amount. Because when you're listing $500 a day you're not accounting for when you accept offers and returns. Because when you accept a offer you technically now didnt list $500 that day.
Guys are sticking together on the great spoon controversy.
He is correct on the spoons.
Do you promote your items
Yes we do
Wow that is alot. Everyday.
It's a challenge to be disapline...I am so easily distracted.
Try bumping it to 540.00
So the druggies stole the word “tweaking”? I’m still using it for the old meaning.
hahaha tweaking! Don't worry, you have good teeth, no one will think you are tweaking that way!
Lol
You sleep in after 8am????
I am a night owl so any chance to sleep in I take advantage of it. Cory is the exact opposite. He gets up early.
What's up with RUclips...?!?
